Topic: I'm new to Alt coins and was considering ETC. Any Thoughts? (Read 1450 times)

It can not be profitable if you choose an altcoin that you didnt know if the altcoin have a potencial to grow or not..
So always becareful to choose what altcoin is the best..
For me for safety better to choose the top10 in the marketcap you can choose what altcoin in the top 10 to hold for a long time because those are legit to hold.

I think so. Trading altcoin is not profitable most of the time. If you see the delist of the altcoin by the exchanges.

Yeah, people should know trading altcoin is very risky and profitable, this is the no.1 rule. And buy low, sell high, we will know how to profit in altcoin.

I think its not a bad idea if you want to hold etc, there is a big speculation that etc is going to be big, but because it just a speculation i dont expect it too much, holding such alt coin is a very risky move but it can be profitable, and in this case holding etc i think  can be profitable

I just make Investment on ethereum classic is just for small amount and it is just for short time, if there is chance for get profit i will take it. I don't hold ethereum classic for long time because it is still new and not stable.

The hype is gone with ETC. People have come to realize that it will still take a lot of work and a lot of time before it can reach parity with ETH. Many assumed that just because it is the original chain that it will automatically reach parity in a short amount if time.

There isn't a lot of news on ETC, I think people just speculate a lot about the price.
It is pretty risky considering it is challenging the best altcoin (in terms of market cap) but it is an interesting idea.

I told the OP to put money into Tether if he wants to keep it safe, not as an investment.

What is the deal with ETC price ATM? I missed the news that is causing the downward price movement.

And don't get Tether, it's literally pegged to the dollar in a way that's going to hinder speculation. While it may move every so slightly, if Tether works, then you should have the same amount of value that you put in.

Etc may or may not be a good investment.
However, it is a very volatile coin to invest $150 in, especially if you are new to alt coins.
Never invest everything in one coin.

I would recommend to never invest in a coin below the top 100 on coin market cap as there are a lot of scams out there (for example the 250,000$ letitride scam).

Put most of your money in something stable like litecoin, or better still, tether, which is pegged to the price of the dollar.

I think it is a lot better if you invest a smaller amount if you are new to altcoins, and especially for that you should try to be extra careful about what you invest your money in and maybe try to spread your investment among a couple of altcoins for example buy 20% ETC and 20% x and 20% y and 20% z and keep the remaining 20% in bitcoin and in time increase your investment but not at the beginning.

If you want to invest in ETC, I do not think it is a bad idea. But it is better to wait until early September. The situation will be clear then.

I hope you listened to the suggestion to buy Lisk. It is now rising fast. The development team has now established themselves in their new office and will now work on the platform nonstop. We might see leaps in development soon.

Oh im fully aware of that. That's why I ask so many questions before making any moves.

ETC has so many potentials but if I were you I will wait until they release their road map or possibly the name to head the project because now there are so many uncertainties that can affect the price of the coin and since you are new to altcoin is better to reduce the risk and not be burned and say crypto world is cruel.

With all of the different laws in every country, Neither ETH or ETC will be accepted into Contract Law.
Made a contract with a minor , Judge declares your contract invalid.
Made a contract where sharia law is the standard and charge over 10% interest and have your contact nullified for breaking their holy laws.
ETH & ETC Names will be changed to HardForks, because they will be doing one weekly as they have 0 Legal Standing.
Day Trade if you want to make money off of them, but hold for too long and expect to get burned.

Yes. I second the Lisk suggestion. They are trying to achieve the same goals as Ethereum with a different style of approach. Instead of inventing a new programming language they are using javascript. So there is no need to learn a new programming language if you are a developer.

I will suggest lisk because price has been in lower range for many weeks now at 40000 satoshi per lisk. Buy at this 40000 range and hold for next few weeks for 20 to 30% rise or even you can double it if you hold for few months. Another coin that is getting good attraction this days is ETH clone coin Krypton (KR) which has pumped over 5x in last 2-3 months steadily, it is listed in bittrex and may soon get listed in polo.

Yeah looks like i am feeling bad right now in this two altcoin ethereum and ETC because i think the owner is only one team are the same so its still risky they are just playing the value of the price attracting people to invest again. and they already experience of hacking.. better to dont choose in etc or eth.. its risky right now to invest in that two altcoin..
