Well I have been here for some months now, hoping to have full knowledge about cryptocurrency and also some investment strategies, and how I can get profited from investing in most of this altcoins.
My investment strategy is Dollar-Cost Averaging. With this method, you can accumulate bitcoins at your own pace. We have so many threads on DCA and yet newbies do not find it convincing enough. I think you should stay away from investing in altcoins and futures trading for now. That is if you do not want to lose money.

So, I've been aware of this community for like 4 years now, just kind of hanging around the edges. But I've finally decided to jump right in and be a part of the action! ...
... On what boards would I learn the most about Bitcoin? Smiley

Welcome, first. Being aware of this forum and "hanging around the edges" leaves some room for interpretation about what you've been doing all those four years. I'm not going to speculate about it. If you've been wandering around the various boards, I'd be surprised that you ask where to learn the most about Bitcoin. Seriously, what have you done all the time?

Now, what exactly do you want to learn about Bitcoin? Technical stuff and questions can be found mostly in Bitcoin Technical Support but also in Development & Technical Discussion. A nice external site is also https://learnmeabitcoin.com or Mastering Bitcoin 3rd edition. Various ideas and discussions about Bitcoin are in Bitcoin Discussion.

Read the stickies of boards, they contains valuable details about important topics not to miss.

And maybe don't make the mistake to just open a thread and refuse to interact. The first page is almost filled and so far your only engagement was to open it.

Apart from the basics I'm sure you already know, remember that there are also local boards where you can post in your mother language, if you're not native English.

Hey Bitcointalk fam! Smiley So, I've been aware of this community for like 4 years now, just kind of hanging around the edges.
Welcome to the forum, since you have been hanging around here for like four years, am sure you will now understand the forum rules and regulations, know that if you go against any rules, then you are going to be punished, so try and abide by the rules and regulations of the forum. If you are really ready to learn here, am sure people are here which are ready to guide you, just ask about anything you don’t understand.

Op 4 years, that is a complete waste of time without Leaning much, assuming within that time you spent on the forum, you learnt some things it would have prompt you to sign up earlier, because then you'll know the worth of this forum.
Must you sign up on the forum before you can learn? I don’t think so, the OP might be getting all the necessary informations which he needs without creating a account here, if the Op says he hasn’t been visiting the forum or learning anyhow here, I will have said it’s a complete waste of time, but since the OP is learning, then I don’t have any problem with that. Even if the OP created account and doesn’t have any reasonable thing to post, So visiting the forum without creating an account here is not a bad thing.

The forum allows guests access to pretty much every board (except investigations board, IIRC), so you've been able to consume as much information as is available and learn from the more knowledgeable members here. This means you're technically not a newbie to Bitcoin or the forum.

and maybe even throw in a few of my own ideas about Bitcoin. Let's learn and grow together.
Looking forward to reading you posts.

Since four years is a long time to truly acquire a lot of knowledge, you would have presumably gained much more knowledge than you presently possess.

On this forum, the topic of Bitcoin is the most discussed. Our forum has a wealth of knowledge for those who are truly dedicated to their own education. Explore forums for Bitcoin Discussion, Mining, Technical Support, and other related topics to broaden your understanding of the cryptocurrency.

Anyway, you are welcome to the forum, the forum rules are the first set of things I'll like that you get familiar with, because this forum strictly monitors newbies and account that seem to be a threat to the forum by disobeying the rules and regulations. Secondly I advise that you read enough posts especially from those quality posters to help you build your knowledge about Bitcoin, you could even make research out the forum and if you get confused, just hop back in and ask a question, and we'll be there to give our support.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

You must have explored the forum one way or another within those 4 years of hanging around the edges, so you're not a total stranger of what's happening here.

If you're after Bitcoin knowledge, obviously you explore the section dedicated to it: the Bitcoin section. The section is further divided into separate boards and child boards for specific discussions and topics. So depending on which specific areas of Bitcoin you're interested in, you could focus exploring on boards dedicated to, say, mining or technical development or wallets or others.

Welcome officially to the forum. Four years and you still managed to resist the urge to create an account on the forum. Well you should be familiar with the forum by now, its not much different from what you experienced as a guest, I believe the only restriction you have as a forum guest is not being able to post or send messages. I hope you can use forum search engine, this thread will help with that.

Well, you would have greatly even developed further than you have currently in knowledge because 4 years is a lot of time to really get a lot of knowledge. There are many members currently who have not been in the forum for up to four years but know enough and may be able to even correct someone who has known about cryptocurrency for more than four years but not a member of the forum. If you commit yourself to really learning, you will be able to attest to an increase in your knowledge about bitcoins by the end of the year.
