You just have to be patience. Be responsible and open thinker. Dont be in hurry. Rush things will lead you to nothing and imperfect.

I agree with you mate, no need to worry about. Despite of this bitcoin price dump, use this as an opportunity instead, to have more bitcoin in your btc wallet to gain more profit when the price rise than selling it with this low price that leads you to loss more money.

Don't worry if you see the price of the bitcoin decreased because for sure once the price increase again it will continue and possible to see the price to reach again $20k dollars maybe next month of february or by the march it will happen if the more bitcoin user have unity to buy bitcoin and to keep for sure bitcoi reach again that price.  I dont think the price become $50k -$100k in the march or before end of this year because that price is very and it takes few years more for sure to happen that.  Maybe the possible become 20k upto 40k dollars each bitcoin.

Again, I'm been asking the same question, why are you guys like somewhat attach to $20K price? Can't you have just a little bit of patience to just wait? We are going to $20K, but it will take a little time to get there. I guess you really bought bitcoin during its peak at $19K, right? Then you can't do anything but have some patience. Short term we may be plunging to $10K or below, but long term, bitcoin can get to $20K-$50K.

People who bought near the $20k price are attached to that price level - it represents profit to them.

Don't forget lots of noobs entered crypto in November and December 2017, which means they bought in the $10,000 - $20,000 range.

You can just regard your investment to be a savings in the bank. This way, it will not hurt you that much. Just think about it as a set aside money in the bank and stop checking the graph all the time. If you trust bitcoin you know it will not stay like this for long. Who knows, you might wake up one morning and realize that your investment has not just doubled in value but more  Grin.

Nobody likes to see the price dump hard but it recovers, it always does. We’ll likely see a new ATH in 2018 so relax & hold onto your coins. Why are you in a rush?

i feel like bitcoin will pump a day or two from now, not only because of its indicators in the charts (TA) but the fact that the lightning network is being implemented already and the adoption of LN is increasing, though not all wallet providers have supported it but soon they will.

.. so I've been watching and reading about btc technical analysis almost daily now, and I'm kind of sick of being in this current triangle.  I've only been in btc since September so I really don't have that much history, but for those who have been in btc much longer - how much longer do you think it will take before btc goes back on the upward trend again?  It just seems like a really long sideways movement.

Welcome to the club. Bitcoin and crypto for that matter is so volatile. You need to bear that in mind. It can't go on a bullish trend, its not sustainable, and sooner or later the price will go to a market correction. This was to be expected, actually I find it surprising that in December we didn't get to $10K.

On Dec 17th, it reached its high of $20k, and it has taken almost a month and we're still below those numbers.  What is your estimate for when we can be above $20k again and onward to what people predict for this year ($50k-$100k)?  Another month?  March?

I know nobody knows for sure, but just looking to hear about what people's gut feel is (and only from those who have btc experience over a year please).

Thanks.

I don't know when the price could reach $50k but we could break more than $20k in this year, hopefully, we could increase more than $30k-$50k in this year too. besides that, when bitcoin price is down, I see most of the altcoin follows to go down because usually when bitcoin is down, many altcoins start to increase and fixed the price. I think this January will be a new start for cryptocurrency and in the next month, cryptocurrency will start to increase.

Going above $20k this year is really possible. The current state of pricing today for me is just correction that is way long overdue because of the postponement of Segwit2x and it being resechedule to further date. Thus increasing the price exponential from $8k early November of 2017 to a massive $18k on December 2017 within a span of a weeks.

Each and every user get sick on watching the price move of bitcoin. When the price was expected to increase such a downfall in value affects the growth happening with bitcoin in terms of adoption as well on marketplace acceptance of bitcoin. Expect good price increase to happen soon.

I think if he is sick on watching the price but he still wants to buy bitcoin, my suggestion is to buy bitcoin at any price and then close every exchange that he joins and take a rest for a while. with doing this, no matter how much bitcoin price is down or up, he doesn't know and don't care and he prefers to use bitcoin for his long-term investment so I am sure that he doesn't have to sick for watching the up and down of the price and he can use his time for another thing.

Bitcoin is volatile, we never know when it pump and down. Nowaday's bitcoin has a bad day so I'm going to play more on bounties because priced of bitcoin is so much stressful.
Yes bitcoin is so volatile so even if the price has not go high in yet. Better buy and invest while we can, their is the time for bitcoin to go up again. It is stressful but in order to gain profit you have to ride with the train.

If you continue to  bother with what price says every now and then, you might end up having high B.P because no matter the amount of analysis you watch or study, there is absolutely nothing you can do to move it from the current position as an individual rather I would advise if you want to hold, hold if you will sell then come back later when things stabilizes, there is a market for you any action you take, its all good.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you are watching/analysing it wrongly.

I've only been in btc since September so I really don't have that much history

You don't need any history lesson. I presume you can read charts? In case you don't, here's a simple one: https://blockchain.info/charts/market-price?timespan=all

but for those who have been in btc much longer - how much longer do you think it will take before btc goes back on the upward trend again?  It just seems like a really long sideways movement.

Unpredictable. How about never?
Always assume the worst possible scenario and work your way up.

Might be after 5 years?  Wink
Again, no one knows.

  • Anyone who bought within 10k are chilling right now.
  • Others: On panic mode.

You're sick of the current price of BTC probably because you don't understand Bitcoin. You can only be sick of what you don't understand.

Forget about TA or FA for a moment and look at the history of Bitcoin, what do you see? If you look close enough you will see instability, volatility, and unpredictability.

Instead of being sick, I'd advice you take a chill pill and learn the basics of how the market works.

Sinbad Mixer: Mix Your BTC Quickly
Do not worry, brother. Bitcoin might have fallen down a bit. But let us be thankful because it did not remain at 5k$. It has risen to reach an unexpected price, not to mention that many governments are trying to take it down. It is really going through a lot (I consider bitcoin as a human being).

But anyway, believe in it as it will grow again and I am sure that it will surpass 20k$ just like I failed to predict it would reach 10k$ in December. Patience is required if you want to see a good result.

You're sick, just because the bitcoin price plummets. You should be able to take advantage of this condition well, buy buy buy and buy.
For 2018, I'm very pessimistic if bitcoin will set foot on $ 50k or $ 100k. Because according to my personal predictions, bitcoin prices for 2018 will only reach the level of $ 27,000.

Why are you explaining this to him? he is probably a newbie who does not even understand how the market works. I have been paying "serious" attention to the market during the last 3 years, and yes, i can confirm to you that the market is moving on the same direction EVERY January - February.

By arriving in September you've been spoilt rotten. Try heading straight downwards for month after month. Try what felt like months at $250. This is traditionally a pretty dead time of year. Wait for a couple of months and you might see some identifiable action. Or tomorrow. No one knows.
We were all newbies at some point and I'm not referring to the forum but about our experience with bitcoin, when I first bought bitcoin it was close to 220 and then the next day it dropped to 190 or 180 I was scared since I bought that bitcoin to buy some stuff so I will buy less with my bitcoin so I waited, and after a few days the price recovered, so most of us panicked the first time that happened to us and we must learn to overcome it.

It's a yearly dip. Well we should learn from our mistake dont do panic selling when it dips if you have a big capital for investment don't put all eggs in one basket because you'll end up loss. so better hold it than to sell it. newbies are always like that they should read technicals and fundamentals of bitcoin and it's 4 years now since the last drop.
