Mining is not a hash-rate dick-swinging contest.

wtf u on about?

hes on about you being worried about having the same hashrates as people on a wiki...

a lot of those scores are NOT stable. and will only run for less than an hour before crashing. so it's kind of pointless.
I agree to the most part, almost all of the low scores for any given card are purely software settings and not actual voltage or other mods to the cards.  That is not to say you could push it past 1 THash/sec for a whole 3 seconds  Grin

As the point of this thread goes, the short answer is still ' yes ' the long one has 4 pages of disclamers and cautions before trying  Roll Eyes

Ok Im just comparing cards together so Im looking at the cards' max sustainable kh/s

so what can kh/s 270x sustain?

so now Im comparing 270x to 270.

on all of these sites @1stPostOnThisThread except coinpolice.com/gpu show the highest kh/s for 270x is 476.             There is a score of 750kh/s twice and 476kh/s too.
So can you get 750?

Honestly, it all depends on the environment the card is ran in too.  Also, I'm assuming you don't want to be one of the idiots that runs their cards at 85*C constantly all day long.  It is so loud and hot, and your card will burn out significantly faster.

I'd say the upper limit for a 7950 could theoritically be that high, but you would not want to put that much strain on the hardware.  Especially once you reach the point with a card where your fan speed goes up 30% and the temp goes up 30*C for a minimal hashrate increase.

If you are serious about getting the most out of your cards, please see this page:

✰ Optimized scrypt kernel files for 7950/7970/7990/R9 280x ✰

Most people aren't aware that by replacing one file in their cgminer directory, their current power and overclock settings will yield 20-30% more hashrate on average!

thank you this is a very good useful find!

ok so ive found 6950 for 150 usd used.I havent checked all the cards yet but this offer is the best so far in the hash/usd ratio. 550/150 =3.(6)   (3.6666and so on)

Im finding more good offers of used cards. So what are the requirements to have warranty?

7950 can't get 900+ KH/s no matter what, so let's get this out of the way. If you'd pay attention, the hashrate at coinpolice was faked, some random person added there 2000 KH/s which upped the average by a lot.

what should i do if i get that worse Hynix /Elpida? Just return it and buy another one?
If you got them that means that in the first place you couldn't tell which type of memory your card has, so it's pointless to return and gamble again. What you can do however, is contact this guy: https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=12369.0
Read his post and you'll understand.

If i overclock/volt and max it out completely how much less lifetime will the card have?
Dunno, never overvolted and never will so I haven't got a clue how quickly the card will burn out. But one thing is certain, you will kill your card a lot faster than it normally would and I honestly can't see a reason to overvolt.

You know much more than I could find on search engines  Grin

Ive read the post and it says that Hynix has two variants: AFR and MFR. AFR is best then elpida and MFR is worst. The cause of being bad are the bad timings.Upload bios and send him donation so he will fix it.

"The ballpark value for the normal hash rate for Tahiti based cards is around: (Shaders * GPU Clock in GHz) * 0.34 >> (2048 * 1) * 0.34 = 696kHash/s."
This formula is very interesting it allows me to predict hash rate. How accurate is it? Where do 0.34 come from? can you explain formula?

Best for money is R9 270, but you will need to find a way to put like 6 GPU to be worth while..

so can I get that hashrate? Come on dont make Me wait so long to choose card to buy?
Nobody is forcing you to wait. You opened this thread over a month ago and you could of already bought something if you were serious.

Don't look at the max possible hashrate you see. Best thing for you to do is calculate the average of all the numbers you see and go under the assumption that that's what you'll get.

You could be lucky and get a card with Hynix AFR which will give you better results or be unlucky and get Hynix MFR which will give you below average results (neither of which you can know before you buy the card, unless the store lets you open the box and see the S/N).

For your question: Probably you could, but at what cost? (reduced longevity of the card, increased electricity bill, etc).

also what does the MFR AFR  stand for?

can i really get 908kh/s with any 7950 card?

Absolutely not.  600-680s

even litecoin comparison shows 730 kh/s for the card
So why are you saying that?

With the current pricing, the best value's are the 270's for just starting out.  For building many rigs the best all rounder is the 280x.

best is just that...best
I would look forward to average...can you make a profit with that??

http://bitcoinwisdom.com/litecoin/calculator
this one shows to expect 600 and, with diff increase, profit within 85 days. Of course, that's card and power only prices.

thank you very much but please tell me can i really get 908kh/s with any 7950 card? (also i will mine the most profitable coin (then i will consider mining the coin which actualy has the most value as how it is designed not how much money i can get from it))

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

how comparable is bitming hash/second to scrypt? I mean can I use this as scrypt comparison? Also when I decrease card temp (by applying Arctic Diamond IC 24 thermal paste for example has 94% synth. diamonds) how much will each degree lower temp allow higher kh/s?
Usually a mh/s in SHA is a kh/s in Scrypt, give or take a little bit.  Mining speed isn't based on temp, but on the clock of your card.  However , getting the card to a lower temp will give you more room to overclock without risking damage to the card (unless you start screwing with voltages)

From my experience modding an older 8800GT to get it to mine what comparison charts say and a little beyond there is more to it than the software involved.  Short answer - yes and hard to replicate.  Long answer, I started off by removing the old heat sink and paste and putting in a new shim and compound, swapped out the fan, changed some of the power regulating section to get slightly higher power, installed a bracket to allow the HDD cooling fans to blow air on both sides of the card and a second fan on the outside of the case ( non component side only ) and managed to get another 5Khas/sec script mining, SHA mining it bumped up 2.2 Mhash/sec and after 2 hours would drop down to it's rated speed.  Part of some of the issues is that the extra heat isn't fully being taken away even with the extra fans, another part is the power supply combo does not always give the rated 12V AMPS out it says ( rated 18A on the 12V line sometimes is the PEAK amps, not the sustainable average ).

I have since moved it back to just the single fan and what little hashing it can do is now back to ' dream land ' as It's been used to upgrade me mum's PC.  It is still alive and showing off youtube thus proving even after shear power of hasing getting a card to the point all them ball connections are considering melting, that those old cards were built tough enough to last this long and still work great ( for it's gen of cards )
