Is it fine to say that crypto world would be better still today without the involvement of VCs? Or there is a catch?
Cryptocurrency is better off without them Cryptocurrency was created as a peer-to-peer and these capitalists just include Cryptocurrency as a way to make money look at the other industries that benefited from Cryptocurrency that includes the casino industry.

Quote
1. Do you think their involvement is helpful?
It's the other way around venture capitalists benefited a lot because of Cryptocurrency many investment companies uses the power of blockchain to make more profit, and it's not only the venture capitalist in fact all the other industries have benefited and will benefit from using blockchain and Cryptocurrency

I don't think venture capital has a very important role to play when it comes to Bitcoin, for the best I know, venture capitals aren't that nice because there sole purpose is to make money and also profit from whatever money given to you.
I don't really know if Bitcoin would survive but just as @welsh said, Bitcoin wouldn't fade or die off because of the acceptance of venture capitals.
What Bitcoin currently needs now is mass adoption and watch it soaring massively.

Remember that when Bitcoin was discovered, there was no venture capital, and they did not invest in it. Bitcoin learned to survive by collaborating with the community rather than venture capitalists. Bitcoin has been helped found by venture capital, which was not long ago. However, venture capital is directly helping Bitcoin to start rising because they are investing significant sums here. But that doesn't mean Bitcoin can't survive without them. Because Bitcoin is decentralized and independent, it can survive with the community indefinitely.

Its possible actually. But without solid fund of VC nowadays there would be difficulty to continue on the development. Unless the project itself is funded by those developer themselves and working on their own and using their own funds. But its quite normal to have VCs. Sometimes we really need to check first a VC that sincere in supporting and not just someone will dumped their shares when the time comes.

In a world without venture capital, it is likely that the development and growth of the cryptocurrency industry would be significantly different. Venture capital firms play a crucial role in providing funding for early-stage startups, allowing them to develop their technologies and bring their products to market. Without this funding, many cryptocurrency startups may struggle to get off the ground, limiting the growth and innovation in the industry.

Without venture capital, it is possible that the pace of development in the cryptocurrency industry would be slower, as startups would have to find alternative sources of funding. This could include things like crowdfunding campaigns or relying on the support of a dedicated community of users. It is also possible that the industry would become more centralized, with a smaller number of larger companies dominating the market, rather than the diverse ecosystem of startups that currently exists.

Overall, the absence of venture capital would likely have a significant impact on the cryptocurrency industry, potentially limiting its growth and innovation.

1. Do you think their involvement is helpful?
It is both helpful and harmful.
  • Helpful because VCs will expose cryptocurrency to more people. They already have their own networks and are able to expand their networks quickly with resources they have. More exposure, more cryptocurrency enthusiasts and more capital will pour into this market.
  • Harmful because VCs can be scam groups too. With this side effect, they will make people feeling more negatively about this market.

2. Can crypto still survive without them?
It will do. Before 2020 bull run, importance of VCs was smaller dramatically and we had this market since 2009 without VCs or with less VCs.

Similarly for the cryptocurrency market without China, USA. it will still exist but short term effects should be very big. The market and its investors will be shocked and panic.

as a small investor that join a couple of Venture Capital my answer, the VC is needed because it make the development and push the crypto even further but not all Venture Capital is Good, sometimes there is community VC that actually scam people.

Of course the key of VC involvement is for Profit but with them traditional VC can also thrive to join crypto industry.

I think the best VC for Crypto is decentralized VC so with a lot of member involvement

Imo, would be better without VCs, but then again they are part and parcel of finance, so kind of integral part.

Less vcs, less people would be lured into projects thinking this and this project got this much $, it must be legit!

Crypto start ups can't survive without them. It is a safe way of funding and since the outside investor is only taking up shares from the company for a limited period of time it can be a way to get guidance and consultations as well as decision making and financial management. The money invested in this new crypto. projects could come in the form of ICOs. Venture capital funds cannot be done without in crypto they are very important for start-ups.

Venture capitals helps to spread the word about crypto better than anything else, while the world is waiting for crypto regulations venture capitals are giving people the confidence to invest, since they are also doing it.

It's helpful we have them.

You may want to define an abbreviation you're using for the first and which isn't a popular terminology. It's a good way to start. Don't take this for granted. Assumption is not a good way to start or leave a thing. You took for granted that everyone knows what a VC is and I've read a couple of wavering comments on that. Now, in your conception, what is a VC? I believe a proper alignment of that will get you real responses to the question you asked.

Some of the VCs encourage investors to put money in BTC and they work hard to disseminated Bitcoin around the globe so that they could gain a lot in return. These firms have lots of Bitcoin in their possession and with the work they're doing, helps the market to grow too. Though, it doesn't matter who is more important in the market, yet the big players who do the right thing and striving to spread the message of bitcoin should be regarded as essential people to the market.

Venture Capitalists aren't on my mind, so I'm not too bothered about what the future holds for them. It will likely exist in some sort of way though.

2. Yes, but VCs make a lot of companies thrive a lot easier due to VC funding.
Typical catch 22. Obviously, the additional funding is definitely helpful, but generally there's some sort of motive towards putting that money where they choose. Obviously, I'm not saying all are absolutely terrible, but the vast majority are probably more hurtful than they're helpful.

bitcoin will always survive
I don't know about always survive, but it won't be VC's that cause its demise.

What I know is that bitcoin do not depend on VC, bitcoin will always survive, but probably that altcoins may depend on venture capital. Venture capital companies are not just existing, they are existing because they make money and grow in what they invested on, if they invested on crypto, that means they make profit from crypto, but just that they invest more money which can help crypto growth.

Most of the new projects that are going to launch in the market needs funding as there is lot of work to do and you need a team if we are seeing it from this side but on a general note also the VC firms has put lot of investment in the market keeping circulation and liquidity high and in their absence retail investors would not take the market cap to these levels. So we need to understand they also put money for profits but giving a initial boost to the market so yes in my opinion crypto won't survive in good and profitable condition.

Take your mind off venture capitals, they are humans like you and they are here to make money, some people like myself have 10$ to invest and VCs have millions of dollars to invest, that's the difference.

There is a ecosystem called Bluezilla, any project they invest money on will dump very fast, I've studied them for a whole year, from the likes of MetaVpad to PolyPad, be careful with any project thats involved with this BlueZilla most especially.

1. Do you think their involvement is helpful?
You think VCs are here to make crypto bigger? Nope!
They are here to make money

Look how messed up the markets are getting lately. Personally, i think crypto was way better before this big players started coming in.

2. Can crypto still survive without them?
A long as the initial aim of a cryptocurrency was not to raise money and make the CEOs get rich quick like bitcoin...Yes!

1. Depends what specific VC company. Some VCs are totally predatory and just wanted to buy coins/tokens/shares for cheaper, while some provide great insight to the crypto company.

2. Yes, but VCs make a lot of companies thrive a lot easier due to VC funding.

I do not think there is any point asking what is better or who we need to invest in Bitcoin. I could not care less about the whole investment issue. You should understand that Bitcoin did not come from the need of any investor or for any entrance. Bitcoin became this big because people started to use it. People are willing to use Bitcoin. I do not see why we want to get money from venture capital companies just to use Bitcoin. Bitcoin does not need venture capital. It has been designed that way, and this is a very good thing. We do not need more money, we need more people using Bitcoin.

Yes the Usage and the utilities Bitcoin can offer can push Bitcoin adoption more than the investment or monetary value it can give. But I am not going to make any investor in Bitcoin feel bad. It’s their choice. I use Bitcoin and if I am lucky enough to get bitcoin and also find ways to increase my portfolio with it I would appreciate that. My main concern or reason in joining Bitcoin was my curiosity and how it can help out the financial system.
Crypto-currency is risky and I can’t over emphasize that, entering Venture capital in crypto-currency without researching would not have a happy ending.
