The trouble with this kind of stuff is that as long as no one really does anything we are quite vulnerable to attacks. IMF supporting crypto is great but are they buying billions of bitcoins to fix the market ?

If not than there is no point on talking. I can say bitcoin is great all day and all year but as long as I do not buy any it won't affect the market.

Look at where we are right now, one dude fought with another and right now we are under 6 thousand dollars. The 6 thousand dollar threshold was really low and everyone kept saying it wouldn't go under there because the indicators showed it would be almost impossible to break it without a brutal sell force which actually happened during this hash war thing.

IMF has all the money in the world and can fix this in a second if they want but they won't, so no use of supporting it by just words.

The IMF chief has released a statement showing her strong support for crypto. If you are in crypto today, count yourself a blessing.

You don't need the IMF chief to tell you the cryptocurrency is a good thing. Whether she likes it or not we're with the crypto till end of time because we know we are on the right path and cryptocurrency is the future.

I don't understand why some people are still showing aversion for a technology like this. A technology full of great potentials like this should be given all the necessary support so that we can together change the world.

If only this statement had a positive impact on the survival of the crypto currency, of course we would really appreciate it, but as it is needed is a real action to be able to change the market situation for the better.

it is one of the factors that will make the price of the crypto currency bounce back, but not as easy as turning the palm of the hand, the crypto currency price movements always experience a lot of corrections when it rises differently when the crypto currency prices go down, this is a difficult challenge take a position to sell or buy, but surely so that we get the maximum profit we are required to be able to take advantage of opportunities and risks as possible

Well it's a great to see a powerful people start to realize the usage of crypto, and even we can't see the immediate affect, but it could bring more people to trust crypto, and I can see the person really understand the usage of crypto, so this should be good for crypto future growth

My personal believe is; i will make it some day from the world of cryptocurrency, it will tarry but will surely come to pass in due course. The statement from the Chief of IMF has rising hope for the community that we are not just wasting our time for nothing but preparing our self for the future of multi-millionaire; stick to what you believe, i believe in HODL.

I don't really see any evidence that the IMF is showing "strong support" per se, all they are saying is that regulation is needed and that there is some potential in crypto that countries need to realise.

It's not something that is overly positive news or something that will have an immediate impact, or any real impact on regulations at all.

But it is nice to see that bitcoin's potential is being acknowledged by this institution. The report is completely spot on with the fact that bitcoin transactions are global, and instantaneous which is something that banks cannot offer. Now, I don't think that in the future they'll show the same support for decentralised cryptos due to the fact that they are after all, a centralised institution. But I think that's where the potential is. Global, decentralised cryptocurrencies. If governments around the world start regulating these cryptos positively right now, they will reap the rewards of increased tax revenue and investments in the future for sure, but unfortunately this is not happening in the majority of states.

It is good to see someone with authority in support of crypto. We just need some more encouragement from influential people and this will together boost the prices of crypto.

I am holding all the coins currently because I do not think that it makes sense in selling in loss. The market is uneven but it will correct soon.

Hopefully, the development of technology will make everyone aware and use cryptocurrency in their lives and ignore what their government says.

This is the main reason that I believe that cryptocurrency will eventually emerge as a currency used for particular digital transaction and more. The world's technology is growing and different businesses are springing up too in that line. One day, cryptocurrency will be preferred for payment at least on the internet business.

this is a good news. It shows that more and more people pay attention to the blockchain and pay attention to the cryptocurrency. The blockchain and cryptocurrency have technical characteristics and can contribute to our life. I hope more people will pay attention to this technology.

Acknowledging the benefits of crypto is a far cry from real progress, most people are now aware of the benefits of crypto. The problem is that many still want to see crypto fail because it's within their interests. Large banker sorts don't want people to have a faster and cheaper alternative because it takes money out of their own pockets.
You do really have the point and it is indeed part of the reality where these banksters or merchants would definitely love to see for crypto to fail
specially bitcoin because they able to saw that its mainly affecting on what they do have built. These common positive views from so-called popular persons
aren't really affecting too much yet most of us normal or typical crypto supporters would definitely have the same view after all.

It is also people who are generally not in a position to make changes themselves that have these positive outlooks on crypto, they are able to admit to the benefits of it without it adversely affecting their own positions. Christine Lagarde won't face pressure from any shareholders, partners, bosses etc for expressing her opinions, whereas someone working for JPMorgan, or Goldman Sachs etc would do so.

This is a fact, they don't want their customers just to go away and get out their money from the banks.

They also don't really want to see these people enjoy what crypto is giving away to everyone. IMF chief is a well known supporter of crypto and she is also giving an idea that governments could set up their own cryptocurrencies.

I saw this about governments setting up their own cryptocurrencies but can't see any environment in which this would happen. The currencies are likely to operate alongside fiat so they're better off just incorporating blockchain technology in to already existing systems and replacing some fiat with their crypto, BUT they would remain interchangeable and actually be the same currency in practice.

Yes, the important personality are becoming aware of the important of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.  I believe that time is going to prove to our financial agency that the world needs a system like this very one and we should keep promoting cryptocurrencies in our own ways.

We ourselves, or the crypto community can probably actually affect change a lot more than Christine Lagarde can. Because we will be the ones pushing for the use of cryptocurrency and pressuring businesses to accept it and banks to adapt to be as efficient or more efficient than crypto currently is. That in itself is a lot more powerful than just stating your belief or support for something. At the end of the day, money talks.

Actually, many people who have believed in the function of cryptocurrency in the future, only a problem comes when various people who counter the cryptocurrency have full power so that everyone does not know or not use cryptocurrency like the government. That is the most important part for everyone still reluctant to try to have a cryptocurrency in their lives. Hopefully, the development of technology will make everyone aware and use cryptocurrency in their lives and ignore what their government says.

That's good news, Bank of America is also bullish on crypto. They have a bunch of patents pending for blockchain tech. Good times ahead.
especially with the current declining market conditions, news like this is needed to maintain psychology. that way we will be calm to hold it even though the price drops. moreover America that issued it, of course will affect all countries

dont be greedy
a website with a low level of trust tries to provide good news so that all cryptocurrency communities remain passionate and confident in cryptocurrency
this is good, but at least everyone has the right to get the original news that is truly valid,

I actually read a post of the IMF chief, Christine Largade, saying that individual countries should consider state owned digital currencies. I am very sure this will pave further way for cryptocurrency acceptance.
