Acknowledging the benefits of crypto is a far cry from real progress, most people are now aware of the benefits of crypto. The problem is that many still want to see crypto fail because it's within their interests. Large banker sorts don't want people to have a faster and cheaper alternative because it takes money out of their own pockets.
You do really have the point and it is indeed part of the reality where these banksters or merchants would definitely love to see for crypto to fail
specially bitcoin because they able to saw that its mainly affecting on what they do have built. These common positive views from so-called popular persons
aren't really affecting too much yet most of us normal or typical crypto supporters would definitely have the same view after all.
It is also people who are generally not in a position to make changes themselves that have these positive outlooks on crypto, they are able to admit to the benefits of it without it adversely affecting their own positions. Christine Lagarde won't face pressure from any shareholders, partners, bosses etc for expressing her opinions, whereas someone working for JPMorgan, or Goldman Sachs etc would do so.
This is a fact, they don't want their customers just to go away and get out their money from the banks.
They also don't really want to see these people enjoy what crypto is giving away to everyone. IMF chief is a well known supporter of crypto and she is also giving an idea that
governments could set up their own cryptocurrencies.
I saw this about governments setting up their own cryptocurrencies but can't see any environment in which this would happen. The currencies are likely to operate alongside fiat so they're better off just incorporating blockchain technology in to already existing systems and replacing some fiat with their crypto, BUT they would remain interchangeable and actually be the same currency in practice.
Yes, the important personality are becoming aware of the important of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. I believe that time is going to prove to our financial agency that the world needs a system like this very one and we should keep promoting cryptocurrencies in our own ways.
We ourselves, or the crypto community can probably actually affect change a lot more than Christine Lagarde can. Because we will be the ones pushing for the use of cryptocurrency and pressuring businesses to accept it and banks to adapt to be as efficient or more efficient than crypto currently is. That in itself is a lot more powerful than just stating your belief or support for something. At the end of the day, money talks.
