Hi guys. Just wanted to know whether drinking is good or bad for our health...first of all i drink every weekend because i feel refreshed after a heavy week of work..  After i drink i take a lot of food and have a nice sleep....I do not have any kind of headache or anything after drinking but will it affect me in the future.... My dad almost drinks everyday right from his childhood may b at the age of 18 but my dad is healthy and strong even after drinking so many years... Thanks to god for that....... Any way,  When it comes to your health, is it better to drink or not to drink?

Drinking doesn't really have a good effect. It's true that it helps you cope up with stress because usually people drink to socialize and have fun. But, besides from that it ruins your health little by little.

I know many issue consumers, individuals who would never go a day without alcohol. It's really sickening to witness and they're profoundly regrettable individuals. A great many people have a typical association with liquor but at the same time they're great at misleading themselves as to what ordinary may be. These moderately aged ladies who set away a jug of wine a night 'since it's just wine' may discover they've embedded a period bomb into their bodies when everything includes. Furthermore, I don't drink no more. My primary issue with drinking when I did was that I didn't do what's needed of it.

As long as you do not drink excessively it will be good for your health, but if you drink excessively it will damage your body bit by bit, If you drink only for once a week in my opinion it is not a mistake, it will not have an impact at all for your health ..

Drinking alcohol when it is refreshing is enough, but when we consume alcohol it is excessive then you will be very difficult to control.
Will have a devastating impact with you and the environment around you

Yup. Everything has it's limit.
Drinking Alcohol in an controlled way is beneficial.
All other crying about alcohol are extremist.

I drank most of my adult life regularly (not alcoholic or anything, just twice a week for example etc) until the last 2-3 years of my life.  Right now i've probably not even drank for over a year and dont miss it once i started getting in the habit of just not drinking.  You do feel better, cleaner, you think more pure and clear.  You do have more drive and can work harder.  It takes a good few months to get the full effects i found.

I will probalby drink a glass of red wine sometime in future but hopefully wont ever make it a thing in my life again.  If times got tough ever i could see using alcohol to cope for sure.  I'm not against it though, i'm wondering if some high qualifty homemade alcohol could be useful health wise for example.  But yeah, right now i dont miss it and im busy doing other stuff.

Many of us enjoys drinking alcoholic beverages, some to the point of drinking too much they end up getting drunk. Drinking may have good effect on our body but too much intake would definitely bring unimaginable effect to our body. Liver is one of the most important part of our body, it filter and detoxify our body, now imagine if you had your liver damaged becouse of too much drinking, all those toxins running through your body, it would definitely bring you to you death bed.

Drinking alcohol is not really bad to health as long as long as you don't abuse it. Too much is too much and once you abuse it, your body will suffer. A lot of complications or disease such diabetes and cancer that can cause to death. Moderation of drinking alcohol is very much advisable. I too drink alcohol occasionally but I do make sure that I will only drink enough that I could still go home or something.

As i know drink alcohol was good for our health but don't drink too much.
I has relative who drink alcohol everyday but then he died.
My opinion everything too much is not good for our health.
Once a week is better, maybe one glass is enough.

Luckily alcohol is your friend.  But in my part it's not.  It gives me a hard time whenever I drink alcoholic beverages.  The headaches is killing me.  I can't stand it. So I'd rather not to drink alcohol for my well being.

I am also having such issues once I take alcohol. After a few hours, my stomach starts aching and the headache sets in. Actually, this is one of the reasons why I have reduced the consumption of alcohol to just two or three times a year.

To answer your question, based on my personal experiences, for me drinking alcohol is a very good way for a healthy mind and body; but, you should always learn to limit and control your alcohol intake because alcohol is addicting and any kind of addictions does not do any good to yourself and to the people around you. Most of the time, I drink alcohol when I am depressed or stressed with my work and responsibilities, alcohol helps me build up the courage and helps me share my problems with my friends which somehow makes my problems feel lighter.

Lastly, after reading the different replies in this topic, I have come up with my own conclusion that the impact of drinking alcohol varies on every different people. Some people find drinking alcohol good for their health, and some don't. I guess that the determinate factor that greatly impacts the effect of alcohol on a person is the amount of alcohol that a person intakes, and also the moderation of drinking alcohol.

As with everything else in life, all is OK in moderation

As the alcohol advertisements said "Drink Moderately" it is the best advice from them that we should take seriously because if you drink to much alcohol your mind would be enslave of the alcohol. So we should only drink moderately or drink upon our capacity. Yes we need alcohol because we can benefit from it but we should also learn how to drink upon our alcohol capacity.

Well, I am not very scientific in this sense, but, drinking alcohol may be good and bad at pur health. Alcohol perse is beneficial for our bodies as it introduces an external element to our system in which our body then reacts; think of it as a traning or going to the gym. But on one way or the other, alcohol only goes bad if it would be abused; not only ln the side effects our body derives, but also the hazard we may come contact with during our unsobber stage.

I don't consume alcohol daily as it can affect my health in a worst way and it can also reduce my stamina which can create a problem for me after I get married and it will have a negative impact on my relationship so I will drink once in a month to keep myself refresh and relax.

Many people enjoy a drink without any problems, but binge drinking or drinking heavily over longer periods of time can have very serious consequences. Alcohol misuse not only harms the individual, but damages relationships and society in general in terms of violence and crime, accidents and drink driving.

In Northern Ireland, the number of alcohol-related deaths has more than doubled since 1994. The most recent figures show:

there were 270 deaths recorded as alcohol-related in 2012;
there were more than 11,500 alcohol-related admissions to hospitals in 2009/10.

Drinking of alcohol has a positive and negative impact in our body. The positive impact are it can lessen the chance of having diabetes and high blood pressure. The negative effect are it can promote anxiety, dementia, stroke, tremor and even cancer that can lead to death. We should drink alcohol moderately and responsibly to avoid having many problems in our body.

Where does it state that alcohol will lessen the chance of having diabetes and high blood pressure. Who came out with this data/tests?

I think that a lot of alcohol is too harmful for the body. I drink only good wine in small quantities and only on holidays, it does not bring great harm. And it is better to try to refrain altogether from it.

When a person begins to become addicted to alcohol, they will be difficult to get rid of it ... there are only a few ways to let go of it, that is, one motivation that can encourage them to reduce and even quit from it ,,. both from their own work and environment
