I always cash out all my investment in ICO when i got profit in it.
Early profits is the way better than losing at last.

Each one have a different experience with each ICO's. You cannot simply say that all the ICO's would be dumped or all ICO's would reach to moon. Before cashing out you need to see the company, backup team and the white paper for future growth, normally all the ICO price would be low when launching and we shouldn't get panic. We need to give some time to make it grow based on the above said criteria of a potential company.

This is a good strategy, but then it makes no sense to invest in ico because you will get very little profit. Why invest in an unspoken project and carry big risks if you can buy btc or eth and get the same little profit but with less risks? IMHO

Yup man!

Nice move always take the opportunity to get back your investment as soon as possible so wont need to worry about the investment, just make sure that you wont sold it all, because it might have some good value in the future.Best thing to do is to review these investments carefully so wont be investing to these scam projects.

Yes 95% of ICOs are just grab and dumps...they never take off... Im referring to the CPX, Arcblock and Fusion of the worlds..more recently

That is good strategy sometimes.
But unfortuantely some projects don't even get your initial investment with bad opening.
Some are opening stable then go to the moon.

I totally agree on your strategy and I have committed myself to always respect this rule. However, I have to admit that most of the times another myself has later taken over control and decided to not cash out the initial investment out of greed to earn more. Most of the times so far it has turned out to be a fatal mistake.

So Ive learnt it the hard way. If youre in profits for an ICO you participated and youre waiting for it to moon further, there is no harm in waiting but pull out your initial investment

This will:

1) Put you in a no-loss out of pocket situation

2) Your risk is now out of your profits

3) Its Moon or dump from here, so be patient!

Why? If you believe in the projects you are investing, this will harm your long term ROI a lot!
If you are dependent by the invested amounts, you should't buy tokens in first place.

Yes let's cash out our initial investment and save the remaining tokens, if you think future of that project better to keep it in your safe wallet like MYetherwallet. Holding is no.1 thing we can do for now.

I mostly buy in right after ICO for cheaper prices and hodl for at least one yearh.

I need to hodl for one year because of tax reasons.

It's case by case really, and depends on your strategy like all other investment decisions.
To put a blanket advice like this out there is just foolish

These days ICOs make like x1,5 or x2 , not like x10. There are just too many of them.

yes it is absoultely an options but it is not my firstly choise.

I take risk and wait for bigger benefit.

Yeah, the reason why you participated on a specific ICO first, because you believe that its a good project so you decided to take the risk, second you want bigger profit which is gonna happen if you just hold your token. Though its depend on you but for me better to hold.

Some are opening stable then go to the moon.

Let's say around 1 out of 10 projects are actually going down after the ICO launched. Of course, it depends how you pick the ICOs.
If you are lucky enough to pick 10 ICOs that sold out in a second, then I doubt you will have any problems. Just HODL!

But it will also put you in a place where you cannot feel any profit anymore.
Example is a $1 per token and goes up by $1.5 and you just got a 100 of it.
Pulling out the hundred dollar means you have only $50 left worth of coin. When the price of it goes up again then you wont even feel the increase.
It is a risk that you took before you even started then why not go all the way.  Grin
Just my opinion. We have different ways of thinking here.

This only works for those big bag holders.

it is the best strategy, that is true

but we people are greedy and we have weak nerves

we always want more, that is why just small number of people can do it

when market goes up we can not HODL and sell early, but it goes down we HODL till the hell

That is very nice move, but the project's potentials wont be maximized if you have dump most of the tokens you have after the distribution so it is better to hold these coins for a little longer because the development of the project wont be that easy,it needs more time ,holding a couple of months will make big difference, you will see most of the people dumping their tokens and will regret at the end when the tokens has some good values in the market.

you may be right but i do not believe in this strategy.

the more risk you take the more money you win. this is the main rule of the game.

Hmm, usually I only jump in with money to an ICO, but only with money that I don't need in the future. And if for example I invest in 30 ICOs and 2-3 prove to be scams or fails, the rest will actually help me get back the investment.
You can avoid that by diversifying the portofolio rather than, selling a part of the coins.
