Altcoin won't survive more than 5 years if they don't have a strong cummunity to create an unlimited demand, because new projects are happening almost everyday and they're ready to replace a coin that don't have demand anymore. So, only the strong coins with high demand right now that will survive in the future
Why 5 years? If there is no demand for any coin, it can be considered dead already. It will stay at the corner of the any shit exchange with zero volume.
That was to long to wait 5 years? Maybe it should not gonna happen about altcoins.
In this coming year will be have some improvements about altcoins, And you said must better the altcoins are not always stay in the shit exchange. If they want to be more popular must need to list in the trusted exchange.

All altcoins with real use cases and good working products will definitely surge if bitcoin reach a new ATH after next halving so do better research on projects and pick useful coins only
Agree with your opinion that if bitcoin moves for the better it can be ascertained lift up also altcoin to be able to perform better. of course for altcoin which already exists in the stock market and which has survived well.
analysis to determine what altcoin is good and there is no harm in projecting with cmc to be a reference before acting.

to parse the definition in a centralized perspective will certainly have a striking difference.

altcoin has no physical entity but the inherent uses are more varied than fiat. But both have similarities about supply and adoption even though the absorption of their goals is different. in 2020, altcoin can be measured in terms of more intense use of quality, and here we need a pattern of support from the government and the market to make it look more effective.

I have nothing to say about 2020 altcoin movement because i am not a seer but one thing looks certain though and that is bitcoin halving, actually if bitcoin can surge higher altcoins will definitely benefits
Predicting altcoin prices is indeed very difficult, especially for the next year, because to this day there are still many altcoins whose prices are down, so a strong analysis is needed to predict altcoin prices in the future.

Indeed, too hard to Value the altcoins. It depends on the project and its adoption. Some become idle and lose their value and support base along the way especially when devs dumps the price. Only solid projects remain floating especially when devs are active and having a long term plan and more developments are on the pipeline.

we still don't know what will be the trend in 2020 so we still can't determine the assessment of altcoin, if 2020 is the same as now of course how to judge altcoin is still very difficult

That's almost impossible to answer. If we could see into the future, we'd all be millionaires  Grin

Moving forward I believe a LOT of shitcoins will moon, but altcoins with actual use cases, will rise even higher and hopefully be used in the common years. Some projects still needs to come down in price, as they are overvalued still, one of them being TRON, which skyrocketed out of nowhere, and only sits where it does, because hodlers refuse to sell lower. That's just my opinion anyway.

Projects like
Ethereum - Smart Contracts
Bitcoin - Digital Currency
Chainlink / Blocknet - Oracle Solution
Komodo / Bisq etc - DEX Solution

Is surely gonna do extremely well - For those who didn't know. Blocknet isn't just a DEX, their Oracle solution is not only the most decentralized solution on the market, it's also the cheapest.

I can name plenty of low cap gems with the same properties, but this post isn't about "shilling" projects.

The truth is, projects who actually solves real world problems is gonna perform very very well into the future.  Wink

Not sure what exactly is needed to discuss here. Why we need to value an altcoin for 2020? Still one month to go for new year. Are you asking about what will happen in 2020 for altcoins?

Let’s talk about a simple yet important currency valuation perspective; cryptocurrency or fiat.

This valuation approach starts with the interpretation of an essential concept that has been put conveniently within the definition of the word cryptocurrency-a subtle definition that has been lost on many investors, sadly.

Looking at the word cryptocurrency more closely, we see that it is a compound word-that is, two smaller words combined to create a new word with its own meaning:

    CRYPTO: a word cryptography abbreviation; the art of writing or solving ciphers and codes;
CURRENCY: something used as a means of exchange; money.

Cryptocurrency is generally defined as a compound word as a digital currency that uses encryption as a mechanism for validating and verifying transactions.

So what is it that lends itself to a new perspective on valuing altcoins within the term cryptocurrency?

What Is Currency?

Currency is a medium of goods and services exchange. In short, it’s money, usually issued by a government in the form of paper or coins, and generally accepted as a method of payment at its face value.

In the modern world, money is the main means of exchange, having long since replaced bartering as a means of exchanging goods and services.

A new form of currency entered the language, the virtual currency, in the 21st century. Virtual currencies like bitcoins have no physical existence or support from the government and are traded and stored in electronic form.

How can I judge if 2020 hasn't happened yet. We have to wait until 2020 to be able to give an assessment of what altcoin is like.
Because it is impossible to judge before we know what will happen in 2020, but for now I say altcoin is a good innovation to become a more complex alternative payment tool.

I would like to argue with you, since now it makes sense only for short-term investments in altcoins, and it rarely turns out to grab at least some kind of profit, but generally most often losses, I don’t know, maybe you are talking about long-term investment, but I think that it’s not worth it hope now because the real growth of altcoins will begin only after Bitcoin has updated its maximum and then it will be possible to think about investment in altcoins. Now it’s a waste of money nowhere.

After 2 years of experience i can tell you this:

- Some shit coins are still making money to some people, to the ones trading them (flipping them in good exchanges).

- Some good, solid projects die simple because they are not into binance or any goo high liquidity exchange, sad but true & this is the worst face of crypto.

That's the irony of crypto, you can't actually figure it out how to evaluate " one crypto " & say this is the one.

Just like something that is for sale in an auction, altcoin has its intrinsic value. But this intrinsic value also differ since altcoins price correlates to BTC price. Most probably one can say if BTC price shoot to the moon again like reaches up again to its ATH, maybe we are going to see once again ETH going $1200 while its intrinsic value for the crypto traders will still be 0.02BTC = ETH.

The past two years have shown that predicting the behavior of cryptocurrency rates is pointless.
That you can only make forecasts in the near future, and then there is some chance that they will come true.
Until 2020, more than a month, then the Chinese New Year in February is not the most active time for cryptocurrencies.
Predicting for your own sake might work but you are right there's no assurance that it will happen as the behavior of this market still unclear.
Many possibilities will happen along the way and regarding to any predicted value changes will keep showing and will keep bouncing up and down.
Best to stay focus and keep yourself ready in anyhow to anticipate the right position.

Predicting altcoin prices is indeed very difficult, especially for the next year, because to this day there are still many altcoins whose prices are down, so a strong analysis is needed to predict altcoin prices in the future.

Compared to what we had in 2017, obviously the prices are down. But the reason is that the prices went up by too much during 2017. The exchange rate for many of the coins increased by 100x or even more. What we are witnessing now is more of a correction than a drop. And once this correction phase is over, the altcoins will once again start their bull run.

Some altcoins are still useful even beyond 2020, If the use case was still intact at that time i'm sure altcoins will be remain valuable. The existence of the cryptocurrency industry will determined the demand of altcoins including bitcoin in 2020 and beyond. My opinion was very simple until the cryptocurrency industry has a value the altcoins demand will be remain as it is.
200 coins in coin market may be in my opinion still worth in 2020, although there are some coins that are displaced it is natural,
there are many issues in this world, but I am not sure about the next 10-20 years maybe altcoin may not be able to survive

Yups, I think so, friend. people are currently preparing only to invest in Bitcoin, according to the news circulating in 2020 is the beginning of a change and the predicted impact may be 2021 - 2024. Maybe altcoin also competes with real product reasons and if inflation really does occur.
