We will leave our countries behind and travel down to Satoshi's Island, do not worry too much, JK, it's going to be the same old way, countries security would have advanced a lot by the time and also we need to keep silent about what we have, watch out for friends we keep.

Problems come with solutions inherent, we'll see when it becomes widespread. Anyhow, there isn't much difference tbh, criminals can force for fiat online money transfer too. I understand the anonymity part but still.

There are different ways you can fool everyone that you don't have crypto like not making other people know that you have crypto. It is also much better if you don't store all your crypto in one wallet which is to avoid all of it getting stolen if ever someone finds out that you also have cryptonin your wallet but at least not all your crypto is there for them to steal. It's just like having fiat where you didn't flaunt your wealth and only show that you don't have lots of money but the truth is only you know how much you have that many people didn't know.

Even though many people have adopted cryptocurrency, not everyone will hold it in the future. Even if 90% of the world's population owns a cryptocurrency, you can fool the rest of the world into thinking you're one of the 10% who don't.

Keeping your riches hidden from the public eye will help you do this. The level of protection you'll provide your own bank reflects how cautious you are about releasing your crypto assets to the public. Robbery cannot occur in the absence of a clue, as it has in the majority of previous incidents.

When life gets hard BUY Bitcoin!
How is this different on current situation which most of the people use online banking and not the traditional way of storing and withdrawing money physically on the bank. Salary is now being received via online bank account while you can transfer and buy goods online without the need of physical appearance. Crypto is same like this besides banking system is centralized. Banks is now have tightened security and almost hard to robbed by mediocre thief.

You will be safe now or in the future if you will disclose all your wealth publicly especially your assets. Most of the rich that being robbed is always flaunting there assets in public that attracts attention by this kind of bad people.

Bitcoin = Financial freedom
First of all, some random gang starts to enter into a house and ask for the possession of cryptocurrency in your wallets and access to it in anywhere then the government should be having better law and order in their region which can only stop them completely.

However no one can't really find how much we are having unless we expose it so better keep your value confidential and when you have the feeling of you won't be robbed in a way like you described then expose it.

Fiat currencies are every where ans how do you protect yourself from them? How do you protect yourself from fake fiat currencies?

Ask the same two questions but for cryptocurrencies. You must have knowledge and experience to differentiate what is good, what is bad. But most important, you should self control and avoid to be greedy. Whenever you lose control yourself and become greedy, you will more likely make worse decisions. It means you lose ability to protect yourself.

As we move further towards adoption, the technology will evolve and become better and we'll see safer and better security measures for people who own cryptocurrency. I say this because if you consider other financial institutions like the regular banks you have, you would agree with me that the level of sophistication security-wise that they have today, is not the same level they had some years ago. Having faced some security challenges over the years the regular banks although not yet perfect, have become more developed to address security issues.

When bitcoin goes mainstream definitely some people will first be victims to theft but I believe that in the long run any security challenge that will arise will also be addressed and tackled. Your target as of right now should be not to be among those first persons that will fall victim or even fall victim at all when bitcoin goes mainstream.

BTC, a coin of today and tomorrow.
In the future how will we keep ourselves safe? When crypto becomes general something and everyone owns coins and tokens and we all become our own banks don't you think this will have a bad effect? Criminals of the future will just kidnap you and ask you, recovery seed or your life, I just think about this now, I think you should too

It's always bank problem if anything happens to customers money, robbers don't rob homes anymore since they knew only few money can be get but banks became the main target.

I feel a bit safe here because many don't know what crypto is, I can start talking about crypto from morning till night and every one will look at me like I am losing my mind.

Just passing by....

There will never be a time that banks will be no more and everyone will become there own bank, never. What happens is that banks will modify their operations to soothe the crypto standards. I think they are doing already in CBDC and when they do this, exchanges also exist and bew technologies will also emerge by then to handle the situations.

But for now no need to brag that you own large bitcoin. Even as you are using bank presently, criminals will also hold you at gun point and ask you to transfer all your money to their account number.

[Nope]No hype delivers more than hope
Don't destroy your own privacy. Especially I saw a lot of stupidity of some suddenly rich people in the past during the meme-shit coin hype, they do a lot like this.

When everyone owns crypto, it's no different than it was before. Everyone has money doesn't mean they are rich.
I think bitcoin has a certain level of privacy that's pretty good (even without a privacy service), that it's hard for the average random person around you to find yours without any clues.

Actually, I have already thought about this many times. To me, this is a real problem. And this has already happened to a number of people. So I think crypto robbery incidents would rise as adoption also rises. So if everybody is already his/her own bank, then it is indeed easier to rob a bank. This is the reason why I now prefer not to discuss about Bitcoin with other people, even friends and relatives.

When the day comes that everybody uses Bitcoin and keeps their wealth in Bitcoin, the question will always be, will you be a good bank? How safe of a custodian are you?

It's not that different with current condition though. Criminal also could force you to make transfer to their account, where they spend/move stolen money quickly before their account is frozen or the transfer is reversed.

The difference is that right now the percent of population using bitcoin is very small. Picking a bitcoiner to steal from is finding a needle in the haystack and the chances are big the "bitcoiner" has only pennies or (worthless) altcoins.

Additionally, some service offer shared custodial service through multi-signature address. The example is Multisig Shield by Blockstream Green.

I see there's plenty of room to learn more even in my case Wink

If you are known to them. So its better to be quiet regarding asset cause this might leak to others who have negative agenda and make a plan to rob you or kidnap for crypto asset. Being anonymous is important, and dont let your close friend to know that you got some heavy asset cause who knows they could tell others and so on and those people might get the impression of stealing from you.

I will worry more about surviving for the next 5-6 years first, what makes you think that you will be alive by then? Stop worrying about the future, when that time comes a solution will render itself, new ideas would have been born before then, enjoy this moment and stop those types of thoughts.

5. Be your own bank is not for everybody, whether we like it or not. There will always be crypto services that will act like the banks = private businesses happy to hold the coins for you. Now they're less regulated and the money is not safe there, but this may change in the future.

This is why everyone need to learn about privacy in the first place to avoid this kind problem happen. Make sure you hold most of your coins on hardware wallet and never link it to anywhere (e.g. exchange, unknown server, casino etc). Let's say the worst thing happen when the robbers force you to give them your private key, you can give him the smaller amount you have. They will don't have any way to find if you have another one.

Another thing is don't let anyone know if you're wealthy e.g. wear branded clothes, bought luxury stuff etc.

Even here, you might not want to talk about all day on how much you earn from crypto or that you are indeed holding this "x" coin right now all day. You're making yourself an easy target for these criminals and no, it is not just the criminals that we're talking about here. We're talking about doxers as well.

Just keep a low profile and you will be just fine. I had some friends that I had cut ties back in the days when they backstabbed me about my crypto-related stuff. I believe I mentioned it to some people in here before, but that was it.

In the future how will we keep ourselves safe?

Bitcoin gives you freedom of choice. If you want to be bankless, you can certainly do that. You have full control of your money, unlike with fiat currencies, where you have no choice but to trust a bank to keep your money safe. But, it's up to you to take precautions and protect yourself the best you can.

The unfortunate truth is that nobody can protect you from your own stupidity. So, we are likely to see more scams, thefts, and a whole host of other problems. For now, there are a few things that you can do to protect yourself and your money. Protect your private keys, understand where your crypto is going, and take steps to keep it safe. However, as Bitcoin matures and expands over the next 10 years and beyond, I'm sure we're going to see plenty of advancements in the arena of cryptocurrency and banking.

For safety , the best thing to be done is learn how to be private by not giving people around the impression that  you have some amount of bitcoin.  I believe most robbery attacks in homes happen to take place by informants , people that are not far from you.  Criminals mostly work  by information giving to them , they don't go to places they have no idea to get money.  Allowing people know what you have makes it easy for robbery attacks to happen.

1. The first rule is to not brag about your wealth.
2. Never keep all the eggs in the same basket. In the same way you can have with fiat one wallet with you everywhere and the rest is safely stored, you can have the same with crypto.
3. You can keep the seed of your wealth in a safety deposit in bank or buried in your garden.
4. A good bitcoin wallet offers the choice of plausible deniability. I expect people will learn to use that.
