Looks like we are running into those direction, making bitcoin a bad investment due to the high fees being charged, i dont know if bitcoin will be able to survice if we reach at some point big fees at any ammounts, because bitcoin were amazing to micro payments, now looking better others altcoins then those, but time will let us know.
bitcoin might not be dead, given bitcoin is one of the best investments that exist for today. other than that bitcoin has a high price for this time, and it probably will always ensure that bitcoin will not die.
yes bitcoin cannot die in any condition or situation. i think it will continue just in a better way, although there are situation that can effect bitcoin up to certain limit but still it cannot cause bitcoin to die, for example the increasing transaction fee can effect bitcoin a lot.

quantum computers mean death of crypto/btc  Grin

I saw this several times, what "quantum computers" means exactly? And how that can be the end of the blockchain? I will search for answers, but I would like to here what community have to say about it.
Bitcoin will not die anytime soon, I doubt that whole world can stay without electricity, fee's are not the same for every wallet, waiting for transaction to confirm will be solved, so I don't see any good reason for bitcoin to die.

In my opinion, bitcoin wont die. It wont happen . Because nowadays many people started to prefer bitcoin over fiat currencies because of its wonderful features. Bitcoin's price can crash if many countries ban the usage of bitcoin. Or if any hacking or anything similar to that happens,  definitely its price will crash. But it wont die.
And for bitcoins to die the price should go down slowly and eventually die, while here the case is completely opposite, the price is just rising and rising and there are more and more sites and service that now appreciates bitcoins, if I am not wrong a big company named CPA lead started to accept bitcoins as the payment method.

Yes, Those high and expensive fees is making the bitcoin to be a bad choice for investment because if the charge in the fees will continue to be high and then it will lessen the possibility of earning great amount of income so if that happen then the possible investors will hesitate in investing in bitcoin and if no one will invest in bitcoin and if the current users abandoned bitcoin then it will make bitcoin die.
We already experience this few days or week ago that my transaction need to pay almost 0.001 btc the electrum was changing fee i am using dynamic fee which i will choose if sooner or long time transaction..
Since i need it right away i choose to next block will be included but the fee is really high its above 0.001 unlike before that we are just paying a small amount.

If people lose faith in the security of the network for one reason or another then bitcoin could die. no matter how many times i look at the numbers i always have this idea in my head that an address could finally be cracked with a super computer ie one of satoshis old addresses, this would obviously be catastrophic . Maybe after years of not achieving mass adoption price will slowly taper off and die, to me this is the most likely case.

I think bitcoin will die in a matter that no one will ever gonna use it and the value will continue to get lower. No one will consider it and especially use it and it will get interest in btc if it's value doesn't meet the expectation of people who use it. And I think one more reason is that if another cryptocurrency will invented and better in btc.

It depends on the number of people who using it because the customers are the one who make it more progressive today because there are many people using it. If this bitcoin doesn't have any customer or doesn't have any people using it. It will die. But another reason is that if the value of it will get low and low.

Like other alt coins that is made, they died because no one used them, well not literally no one, but I mean it did not boom in to the users. So if bitcoin has no users at all, then we can say that bitcoin is dead. But still there are people who want to kill bitcoin, you know, someone who has the money and guts.

It depends on what you mean by "use". If by "use" meaning to spend to buy something, I doubt there's much altcoins that's like that. Most altcoins are there for trading and nothing else. Let's all accept the fact that despite their use and target market, people are only going to buy a coin when it's hyped up and if they think that it's a good coin to trade.

Btw, altcoins don't die not because no one's using it or holding it. But it's because no one's buying the coin and no one's interested in it. When someone's selling a dead coin, it remains a dead coin. But if someone's buying it, it revives back to life although this rarely happens.

How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?

Perhaps, bitcoin would die only if the connection of the internet in the entire world will disappear. The usage of bitcoin will be useless forevermore and bitcoin users will get disappointed with it if that happen of course. All whale investors too will be gone also, all online payment will also get affect on it.

that is absolutely right, but how can internet in this world can be dissapear when now people always find something new in technology except from world war ? .

Bitcoin will die if no one will be using it for transactions and any profitable spending online. The economic impact of bitcoin will certainly drop it's performance particularly on it's price fluctuations, as well as demand of buy and sell is really affecting and will make bitcoin die.  But for now it's not possible to happen because more people are now adopting btc and they demand buying it from online peer to peer trading, which purpose is to invest for future holdings of bitcoin.
Yes if people stop to use bitcoin the Bitcoin will die this is also one reason. But according to me, the main reason is if the online gambling sites stop to accept bitcoin the Bitcoin will lose it value and slowly the Bitcoin will lose its reputation in the digital market. Yes, the online casinos are the big backbone for Bitcoin. If they stop to accept Bitcoin, the Bitcoin have a chance to disappear.

No, it's not dead. The idea of a block chain as a technology is here to stay, regardless of which crypto currency ultimately takes hold.
We are talking about Bitcon here. There is no denying that blockchain tech will be used in the future as it is the most interesting feature Bitcoin has.
But seriously do we care if banks will rip off blockchain tech and use it as a replacement to their databases?
I very much doubt that modified blockchain ledger used by banking industry will be public and transparent.
