I think maybe it all depends on the value of bitcoin, if you ask which altcoin will be pumped, I think everything will pump up following the development of the value of Bitcoin

Not really that all altcoin will pump. For example in the last 3/4 years ago that bitcoin got to ATH, while etheruem and litecoin really pumped behind bitcoin, some other altcoins never did. It all depend on the use of the coin and design. Coins don't pump in the same way or time.

hard to guess, I think it's random...
as usual, when the price of Bitcoin goes up, the price of some Altcoins goes up. if the range is reduced to the only top 20, then I guess ETH, LTC, DASH, BCH & MONERO will go up.
What's the closest to BTC always have a greater chance of increasing the value when bitcoin start to pumped up. It's hard to accurately say which coins will rise as everyone are basing things according to how they've seen the possibilities.
It's up to your own observation managing your investment is very important it's needed to have a deeper look before investing your money.

In my opinion the top10 will do just as always - pump- these altcoins are tezos, litecoin, tether, eos etc. These in the past have not failed in showing a really close shadowing of BTC. Also, since these also happen to be the top10 with most market cap in my opinion is another indicator of how well they'll do relative to BTC.

I still do not believe that we are now experiencing a pump. We're going to see a new bull market and the coins beyond the top 50 will go up again. But what I would like to know is, is it possible to detemine which altcoins pumped the most after the last halving in 2016 and its all time high? Does anyone have any data?

I doubt that altcoins would benefit from the hype around Bitcoin halving and pump in case this latter pumps. With a dominance of +68%, Bitcoin is having an upper hand here and clearly altcoins are boycotted. To make it short, I think that if you want to bet on halving creating a bull trend BTC is what you should bet on and definitely not altcoins.

which altcoins to pump after halving? altcoin pumping depends on the price of bitcoin. so I have no idea which altcoin to pump. go to coingecko or coinmarketcap and look at their graphs almost always. so we can't really say which altcoin to pump after halving..

What would drive it upwards is the lack of selling and not buying and that is something people have been missing out for a long time honestly

No, it doesn't work that way

The lack of selling coupled with the lack of buying (cause otherwise we would see prices rising steadily) means less liquidity in the market. And the latter inevitably leads to higher volatility, not the consistent upward momentum

Why would there be less sellers? Because every other way of making a profit is actually lacking and everything goes down, whereas bitcoin is a great long term investment for you, hence people would not sell their coins to keep making profit instead, and as long as we go up like we do right now there is no reason to keep selling so they will keep it instead (or "hodl" for better understanding)

Things are obviously a lot more complicated than that

As I'm inclined to think, most of the price action that we saw recently is explained by squeezes, both long and short ones. So it doesn't matter whether "Bitcoin is a great long term investment" or not (while we are at it, this mantra doesn't seem to work anymore either). Sellers can sell on margin, just as buyers can buy on margin too, and this is what has been going on for quite some time now. Put differently, sellers, or lack thereof, as you mean them and as we know them, don't play a significant role in this game of stakes

In your opinion, which coins should pump the most in the following months after the halving and why?
As probably many of you, I think a bullish scenario for bitcoin and alt are ahead of us after the halving. I'm trying to figure out which alt coins have the potential to pump the most in the following 6 months.
So I'm looking forward to read your opinion on this. Thanks guys!

No one can say which altcoin will pump. Because it will take a complete market decision. Some altcoin follows bitcoin, altcoin pumps when bitcoin pumps and the same thing happens when bitcoin dumps. Slightly dumping bitcoin shows that altcoin dumps more. So overall, predicting altcoin is not an easy task.

But I think eth will do something good in the future. I am not thinking of anything short term for this. So I will give priority to eth now. Because there is a lot of exciting development ahead. Everyone can have their own opinion. Your opinion may not match with mine.

Altcoins that SHOULD pump the most?
TBH, I don't feel much but I was hoping that ETH will do most. Isn't sure that among the top listed coins will make a huge pump either.
Then, we are about to draw some speculation and to know that 6months after halving we are expecting the effect of halving, and if that Bitcoin will in the bullish that time, it for sure that altcoins will rally the same. To the fact that we never know what will happen in the future, we should just give wild gues and hoping that our bet is right.

What would drive it upwards is the lack of selling and not buying and that is something people have been missing out for a long time honestly.

Right now, let's assume that economy will not recover and there is something that is going to challenge everyone's money and they will not be able to buy into bitcoin and price doesn't increase because we lack the buyers, it could still go up because there is even lesser sellers. Why would there be less sellers? Because every other way of making a profit is actually lacking and everything goes down, whereas bitcoin is a great long term investment for you, hence people would not sell their coins to keep making profit instead, and as long as we go up like we do right now there is no reason to keep selling so they will keep it instead (or "hodl" for better understanding).

If the world economy continues to go downhill (which is almost certain), don't expect too much from cryptocurrencies either (just in case, I eagerly hope to be wrong on this one). So, to rephrase your question, we should rather ask ourselves which cryptos are going to outperform Bitcoin on this slide down, i.e. not fall as much and actually rise against Bitcoin. I think these are the currencies among top altcoins which already lost much of their value. These are Ethereum and probably Litecoin as well as EOS. There can be pumps and dumps at times but they will be hard to predict and time
The cryptomarket will experience some bullish scenario because the market have practically perform every procedure of the bullish market after halving, there's chance that the bullish market may not big as we expected because of the pandemic but the bullish market will definitely happen.

But what is going to push it up?

But really? Especially when everything else is crashing down? Indeed, if the economy restarts (highly unlikely in the near future), cryptocurrencies will have something to build up the momentum on (e.g. money flowing into financial markets). On the other hand, if the economy keeps spiraling down, what is going to drive the prices of cryptocurrencies up? Bitcoin has likely already run out its upward potential due to halving, and if there are enough open marginal long positions, it won't be totally unreasonable to expect another massive squeeze of longs in the coming weeks

Know what?if we can only find which.currency would give us this profit?for sure we will buy and use all of our resources to invest in that one but the truth?none of us can tell which, but yeah we can at least give our opinion so we can help others to check the said coins and for mw nothing can Grow more than Binance and Ethereum for this halving effect because these 2 currencies are the most promising in our time now because BNB has been active making charities this past days while ETH is waiting for the 2.0 version.

I can only see the potentials on ethereum and nothing more when we talk about the altcoins. The network upgrade will definitely spur the price of ethereum to another higher ath this season, the movement has been growing from the bullish which started early 2020. For other altcoins, I can't really vouch for them because am not a holder of them. For those who are interested to invest their funds should look at ethereum as their possible option.

Not have potential coin will be pump after halving time because not get effect with bitcoin on higher price, will be the same price before and after halving for all altcoin, but I can ask you for holding etherum only because looks profitable when bitcoin touch with higher price.
ETH is a good coin and well supported by people but ETH is not the only altcoin people should invest in. However, i believe every altcoin on the top 200 which is not centralized and have confirmed utility with liquidity will follow bitcoin once the bullish market start.

As probably many of you, I think a bullish scenario for bitcoin and alt are ahead of us after the halving. I'm trying to figure out which alt coins have the potential to pump the most in the following 6 months

I don't actually think of a bullish scenario for the whole cryptomarket in the next few months

I guess Ethereum and Ethereum classic are the coin that will be pump when bull run comes. Seeing both coin's price movement is really interesting one. Ethereum has been showing that it is the best altcoin who tempted the investor to buy it. Seems like the all time high for this coin is the past will be easily passed when it is closely reached.  And secondly, the coin's fork of ethereum and ww know it is ethereum classic. I see some information that spreading on some article platform that this coin will meet halving event. And I really curious in it and find by myself, and it was right that this coin will meet halving event. This is why a few day ago this coin has risen a lot. And I guess the increasing pricr will continue when the bull run comes.

There are many potential currencies who will pump easily this coming halving because of the hype so it is very difficult to safely drop a suggestion that this currency will likely to pump more compare to other currencies. If you want to play safe then you can choose any currency that are in top 20 as they have the potential to pump this coming halving.

Mainly bitcoin will surely to pump more also so you should not forget it to put in your basket of investment also as bitcoin price will likely to break 12k$ before the halving will occur. The other currencies are following the lead of bitcoin so you can just choose whatever currency that you trust and in my case here are my portfolio (Eth,XMR,BTC and EOS).

Alts with strong pump capabilities will often be characterized by new technology and a good community. I am only talking about my personal analysis, it may be true or false.
Lately I've been learning about Hbar and Band. Hbar has a very professional team and their technology can be applied to daily life and the community is very strong. But its marketcap is still a bit high right now so the possibility of growth will be limited. And for Band, this is a great alts and has more functions than Chainlink. Its marketcap is still quite low, despite having been very pumped for a week. So I still believe that Band will be a good candidate in the coming months.
