You have a 5450. From this page https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison i see it should make like 14mhash/s Not a lot. It's a very weak graphic card.

Anyway, you choose that from the miner. What are you using?

On a side note, why do you get a computer with an i5 intel and 8gb of ram but such a bad bad bad graphic card? I suppose you are not a gamer. But well, a 5450 is totally unsuited for mining.

Hello IgpayAtinLay  and welcome to the bitcoin forum

First thing, mining is not a get rich quick scheme. Second thing, knowing your hardware is a good thing if you want to mine.

Means nothing.

The screenshot you provided tell us that your computer has a Intel i5 760 2.80ghz CPU and 8GB of RAM.

Now, using your processor to mine is useless. It's too too too slow. No one mine with the processor for that reason. Your 5.5mhash/s looks like from CPU mining.

People use graphic cards to mine. Yes, the one required to play videogames. Yes, it's much much more powerful than the processor, but only for some things (aka, games and few things like mining)

My ATI 6950 for example does 300mhash/s.

Use GPU-Z and tell us your videocard.

On a side note, why the hell did you buy a computer without even knowing what it is? Cheesy

Go to the device manager and then display adapter to get the model number, your video card is under there and the higher end ones tend to usually get from 100-200 mh. You are probably using your cpu.

GPU is a Graphics Processor Unit, a Graphics Card.
CPU is your main processor, like a Intel I5.

Right now i am in a no fee pool (thank God for them), making barely anything still. I'm only pushing 5.2 Mhash/s. Is there anyway to increase this rate besides buying a 'rig'. Perhaps something less costly or settings i can change on my computer Huh
what is your computer specs and os?
