I won't use my number for notification purpose. I'd rather use my email to recieved notification and avoid linking my phone number to my wallet or any platform. You know that some don't want their personal information or number linked to their wallet. Even casinos are suggested to change the registration if adding phone number is also a requirement to create an account.

You can also use free Firefox addon which notifies you for new transactions. The advantage is that you don't have to register anywhere and you don't have to provide personal data like email or mobile phone number to commercial providers. You can install the addon in your desktop and mobile browser and receive notifications when it is open.

That is a nice gimmick. But the disadvantage is that you must provide a third party  (blockchain.com) with your walletadress. I know, that is not much. But if you want to stay anonymous that is still a tiny piece from the puzzle.

No, you don't need to provide any account credentials. You only need to provide a block explorer page (
Ah, that how it's works. Thanks for clearing that up.

wasting time and data opening/logging in the wallet at all times. It's nice to set up notifications.
You don't have to log in into your wallet. You can use a blockexplorer.

Getting sms and notifications especially in those wallets is quite interesting and gives you assurance that your awaiting money has never been paid without wasting time and data opening/logging in the wallet at all times. It's nice to set up notifications.

I dont trust this method, what happens if your email gets
hack? That will be a very big problem you know.
I can try other things with my email but as for linking up my ETH address through email is a no for me.

What am after is getting notification of new post in bitcointalk forum through email address. Can someone tell me how it is been done.

I don't feel really safe with installing add ons like this, and somebody else might feel the same thing. If I need to do it I'd probably use it on a separate browser/in VM just for safety. Especially if I have Metamask or anything similar installed on my browser.

Basically, you're right. Unfortunately, there are always add-ons accepted in the stores that contain malware. Each installed add-on is potentially a security risk. In this case, it is a simply tool which source code is open. You can check it yourself.

Download Exodus wallet for both Desktop and mobile. Create a wallet on any one of those then sync them and enable notification through settings. Now, whenever you receive any credits you will get notified by a sweet sound.

You do not need to register, neither you need to go through KYC with this wallet. It is a multi-cryptocurrency non custodial wallet which support more than 300 crypto assets.

No, you don't need to provide any account credentials. You only need to provide a block explorer page (there are a lot of good alternatives to blockchain.com) which is going to be monitored for changes. If a change happen you are going to monitor, for example a new transaction, you get notified either in the browser (sound, flashing tab or popup) or via email. I have used it for a while new and it works pretty well.

For anyone with crypto holdings, trades, or any transactions on the blockchain, one smart way to ensure the integrity of your transactions is to get real-time notifications on any of your preferred platforms, such as email, SMS or messaging app like Telegram.

With PARSIQ’s automation, these alerts can provide much-needed information about the transactions as they happen — and this can even be configurable to detect blockchain activity as early as the mempool level, meaning you can get alerted of upcoming transactions even before they are fully confirmed on the blockchain.

Businesses, traders, and individual users can benefit from the ability to monitor activity on their crypto addresses in real-time. PARSIQ empowers these users with better security, compliance, and actionable insights into their transactions. Learn five reasons why you should put your crypto addresses under real-time monitoring.

Notifications will be sent by SMS text message to your mobile phone. All My Wallet accounts get 5 free SMS messages per day, more can optionally be purchased in the [Account Details] section.

It would probably be advisable to use email notification rather then SMS notification. Generally SMS are displayed on your phone's screen for anyone to see while emails are not.

You probably wouldn't want anyone near your phone that you just received money from someone, would you?
I'm not too fussed about that. Either way its about having the choice. Each person is different so configure to your liking.
I really just wanted to know when a block was solved and I got a mining payment.

Are you using Electrum, Multibit, Bitcoin core or blockchain.info wallet, or any other wallet for that matter, and do you want to be alerted when you receive a payment such a mining etc?

It's pretty simple, here's how:

1. log into blockchain.info and create a new wallet https://blockchain.info/wallet/new
2. log into your wallet on blockchain.info/wallet
3. go to import/export tab
4. click Add Watch Only Address
5. enter the Bitcoin address of the wallet you want notifications for
6. ensure you go into account settings and add an email address to send to and/or a mobile number

This can be done for as many addresses as you like. Smiley

This may be somewhere else but I couldn't find it so I hope others find this useful.

Very good information, all these clients don't have this feature but blockchain wallet does and by doing this one can be secure and updated as well of all the transactions on their secure addresses in real time. Thanks OP.

a note, with Blockchain wallets I don't get SMS messages if my wallet balance is empty. I guess they charge from them. Will try to confirm.

I was just thinking that there must be a cache, sms aren't free, they may be cheap locally but they're not when you're sending them internationally, see this: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bug-with-blockchaininfo-text-message-service-528865

someone claimed to have been charged 0.0001. And do update us with your findings on this.
