I am heartbroken now by Hampz words + this design.  Well done! I agree with Hampz, you should really pursue having some chips made up.  I hope Satori at the very least changes up the color.  IMO a small change in design would be good for them, their brand, desirability, and long term collector value.  Markets are flooded with orange chips now..change is good.

Thanks for the kind words ChiBitCTy, I really appreciate it.

As I said, I'm pretty unfamiliar with these chips, but thought I would give it a go. I'll have a look into the process of getting some produced if there is interest. Or if anyone would like to assist with the process that would be awesome!

Take care,

-Untold

These chips are pretty cool. I would definitely be interested if you decide to produce some. It seems you would just need to buy the chips and make two really cool holograms, one for each side, and you'd have your coins. I'd be happy to assist if I can.

Take a close look at a Satori chip. Better yet use the serial number and website to look up the public key. You can add more bitcoin to a Satori chip once you have the public key if you want BTW. Just noting there is a lot more work involved than just slapping two holograms on a poker chip. You basically would have to reproduce what Satori and BTCC have done. Not saying it can't be done but it would be a challenging project and you also have to worry about not infringing on any patents the other companies may have.

I think you're completely right. It's definitely more complex than just slapping two holograms onto a chip, what I meant to say with that comment was that It's also not impossible to do and meant to encourage Untold to go ahead and with what could be a really cool project.

Have a hard time believing the dream for a custom is dead.  The buyers are here and the L.N . seems to be working in our favor and should only make things that much easier/better/more likely/etc when the time comes.  Of course I'm not looped in like Hampz and look forward to hearing more from him.  Glass half full for once here.

Satori seems to be going through some growing pains as they became more popular but high transaction fees are a problem for them loading .001 chips. I think they will work out the kinks just take some time. They may have to go to .002 - .003 chips, or even consider Litecoin instead of Bitcoin chips. They are certainly successful so far and a smart business so they will find a way IMO.

Id actually welcome a .002 or .005 chip.  I like the btcc multi denomination chips and i think im not speaking alone to say they would sell fairly easily maybe not in the boatloads as they have but definately a fair share.  Has anyone approached them about multi-denom?

Agreed, nice work Untold and it'd be cool to see these go further into the production stage.   Grin

Sorry for the slow update guys! I've been reading what you've talked about and I agree with most of you Cheesy.

As of right now this project is put on ice.. Moto has asked for my patience as they are working on a lot of things over there and can't focus on this right now.

As for the custom chip, it is also looking like we can't do what we want with it, some guidelines have to be followed as using the same hologram (front might be able to change slightly) and then only changing the color of the chips without adding/removing any elements. We'll see what happens but as of now, no custom chips are going in to production in the near future..

Thanks for the update Hhampuz, I thought they might have quite strict guidelines in terms of the design of the tokens, but will watch this thread to see if this changes in the future.

Take care,

-Untold

Hey Untold, not sure if I ever replied to your PM (Sorry about that if I didn't). I love your chip design but I would almost think that it is worth pursuing that as your own thing, I'm sure it would sell if you were to make it!

Will keep you, and everyone else, updated on any progress made Smiley

Thanks Hhampuz,

No worries at all, I appreciate you taking the time to reply to me here!

I ended up doing an additional design (the one I sent you was a quick test), thanks for the kind words, I would love to explore the idea of creating a custom token, but seems super daunting!

Anyway, here is the design I made, and I look forward to any updates Smiley.

The last group buy was for 214 rolls. With Satori limiting to maximum 100 rolls order per person now we will be fortunate if Hhampuz wants to do another group buy for the next batch from Satori. It sounds like custom coins are way in the future if ever.

Cool idea!

I'm currently working on my own mockups, but if anyone has an awesome idea that they want mocked up, feel free to reach out to me, I'd be happy to assist!

Shoot me a PM with your idea or message here, happy to help people out to bring their idea to life!

Thanks,

From the Satori website:

When our stock depleted in late January, we announced that we will resume sale on Feb 12. But we are afraid to say, we are going to delay the resuming date. The reason is this.

As you know by now, Coincheck hack problem arose. Our decision to originally use Coincheck payment service was for our accounting management purpose, to avoid the complex BTC/USD/YEN calculation burden. But to this date, we cannot retrieve our BTC .... Alas, everyone, please learn from our mistake !

So, we need to introduce a new set up and implementing that is going to take another week or two. We are sorry to keep you all waiting. As soon as we are ready, we will re-announce.

Now please take note in that when we resume, in order to serve as many people as possible, there will be a 100 pcs purchase quota limit per person. We cannot accept orders above 100 pcs. We expect to make close to 3,000 pcs.

Lastly, we previously indicated that after this lot, we expect to cease sale for a prolonged period (due to high transaction fee preventing us from manufacturing at a sensible cost). The good news is that lately, the transaction fee has come down drastically. Preparation to fully restock will still take a few months and we cannot promise any dates, but things are starting to look promising.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

@Hhampuz does this mean no more group buys or custom designed Satori Coin for some extended time?

Seems that way, party over....
