If one thousand legal entities or individuals own almost 35 percent of all produced bitcoins, this should indicate that these rather influential people will see to it that bitkoyn is recognized by the community and has a high rate. This is generally not bad. But why did you need the FBI bitmakers? They generally carry out various kinds of operations, including semi-illegal and illegal, and may and will in such cases need calculations with individuals whose contacts they would not like to disclose.

1. Top 1000 Bitcoin addresses control 34.28% of total Bitcoin in circulation.

2. FBI owns 1.5% of world's BTC.

3. 64% of BTC have never been used and may never be used.

Which other interesting and unique facts do you know about BTC? Please share.
The news you have put are quite interesting but sorry to say don't look like any authentic one. Especially the FBI stuff, why will FBI need to buy bitcoin? Also the #3, where did you get this news? What were the sources of these news?
Secondly what OP is trying to say by posting it? Is it some kind of a grey area identification?

Around 4 million btc have been lost forever due to losing private keys or long term hodling or maybe even due to transaction fees. This implies that 1/4th of total mined supply is lost which implies the reason why bitcoins price is really booming a lot. According to new research from Chainalysis, a digital forensics firm that studies the bitcoin blockchain, 3.79 million bitcoins are already gone for good based on a high estimate—and 2.78 million based on a low one. Those numbers imply 17% to 23% of existing bitcoins, which are today worth around $8,500 each, are lost.

I'm with some others in the thread in that I question the validity of these claims and statistics, do you have any sources for this material or is it just something you've heard? Although I have heard that an extremely large number of early bitcoins mined and addressees used were not taken very good care of and got lost in the abyss. Many were lost during tests of security, integrity and many were lost to just plain carelessness.

When you say "FBI" are you talking about the individuals that make up the FBI or do you mean the government entity itself has an address or multiple addresses under it's control? If this is the case do you happen to know why that is? Are they simply interested in the technology, or do they have motives beyond that?

I'm also going to assume when you say "never been used" you are referring to have never been moved since being mined, or am I naive to think that is the criteria? Please explain if i am mistaken, because I believe that whatever definition is labeled on "never being used" could simply be explained by "HODL"ers or something similar that just happens to be very prevalent among our community.

Last thing, does "top 1000" addresses mean the address with the highest amount of bitcoin going in/out within a given period, or does it just mean the addresses with the highest quantity of bitcoin in them currently? I'm just trying to get a more firm grasp on what you are presenting here, and it's really difficult without a citation, sources or some explanation/definition of these terms... I may be ignorant, so let me know if I've missed the memo where these were defined officially. Without that though it reallly is hard to do any sort of analyses or conversation on this, so unless you're just trying to spout off random facts then clue me in, please!

Wow for the things which you have mentioned here are new in the first place! I can't imagine how the money is concentrated in the 1K Bitcoin addresses, I'm sure that these might be the oldest one who kept the bitcoin as it is and never sold it. Over the time they might have gotten costly anyway. FBI seems to me very rich and who knows they might be taking little satoshi out of it. Haha. !
How do you got the estimate of unused 64% of BTC. I mean there is already 16 ml + coins in circulation and how you can be sure about unused coins. There has to be all of them in use otherwise how could we have so much market cap. You getting what is I want to ask?

The things you share about Bitcoin are interesting, it gives me some useful information. That's 64% Bitcoin never used, it's a huge number, so many people have lost it or it will never be found. Besides, when I heard that 1.5% of Bitcoin belonged to the FBI, I was quite surprised. Because of its anonymity, anyone can use Bitcoin and even the police.

I don't have such very interesting trivia about Bitcoin as these. All these are really surprising. But it would be a lot better if you have also included in here your sources of these information. The third one I already have a clue because I have read that more than half of the Bitcoin supply are either lost or have already forgotten for good. But the first and second is really a very interesting information about Bitcoin.

where you know 1.5% of bitcoin circulation holding by FBI ? any source fact or news?
i know FBI holding bitcoin from catching some fraudsters/scamer, but i dont know the more detail about it.

this is a classic FUD topic my friend.
he is giving a "big number" with a "big name" to create panic. and he uses the word "owns" as if they have bought that much to control. government agencies are not known to invest in assets!
they may seize some from criminals and hold it until court rules about it and then auction it but this is not  called "owning bitcoin".

and until he provides a source for his numbers, i call bullshit on all of them.

Wow, this amount is huge; 21,000,000 x 0,015 = 315000 btc = 6111 million dollars at the current rate, incredible.

When you realize that this amount of money has been made just for doing a few seizes, it really desmotivates me about how easy they got that amount of money.

2. FBI owns 1.5% of world's BTC.

How are you so sure about this? That is more than a half of all the bitcoins who are /will be in circulation forever.

So it means that if 100 people control 30% of bitcoin.

It really is 30% of the 36% am i right or not?

3. 64% of BTC have never been used and may never be used.

i feel like you are giving random percentages to be honest, care to give us some source for the numbers you have shared here and also explain why you think they are true?

1. that is 5,740,112BTC or 57,401BTC per address. according to https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-bitcoin-addresses.html there are only 112 addresses with that much in them which is less than 0.0001% total addresses used. and total of it is 2.8 mil not what you said.

2. 1.5% is 251,171BTC they do not "own" this. if this number is true and not fake like previous one, these are confiscated bitcoins. like the ones they got from Silk Road,....

3. that is 10,716,663BTC based on your track record i would be ultra skeptical about this! trading volume and the circulating coins per day is big enough to make me believe this number (64%) is fake also.

For 1 he said top 1000 addresses, not top 100.

You forgot a factor 10. The average for top 1000 is thus 5,740, not 57,401
