Thank you for posting this. I don’t run a lightning node so I don’t think I can actually participate in any of these projects, but it’s nice to know that work is being done. Bitcoin appears to be falling behind and the lack of information about current projects on the Lightning Network as well as development kit info is seemingly difficult to come by. While I have no plans of interacting with Lightning anytime soon, it would be nice to know people are putting in work so that Bitcoin isn’t left behind as the world moves to web3 and metaverse/NFTs become what regular people are using crypto for.

lightnings sales pitch is full of issues.
its trying TOO hard to pretend that it is bitcoin
though the network has no blockchain. has no settlement inside the lightning network. its units of measure are millisats not sats or btc.

heck its not even bit bitcoin centric unique feature, because its a separate network for multipple currencies to lock off and bridge ti

yet they cant even get the actual features or benefits of what LN "!could" do becasue they are to obsessed with trying to steal bitcoin userbase while destroying bitcoins features and benefits and also destroy bitcoins reputation and strengths

here is the thing. the ethereum crowd that have their altnet being NFT. know the purpose and niche utility/features of their NFT network and are understanding better how to salespitch it.
you dont see them crying that its 'ethereum layer 2'  or the 'solution to ethereum blockchain size' (1TB compared to bitcoins 0.4tb)

without trying to cloud it by mis-informing people that its ethereum while trying to say that ethereum is broke and not suitable for human regular usage.

thats why NFT and ethereum is moving forward and bitcoin is not. because silly idiots are trying to steal bitcoin fame by then saying LN is bitcoin.. but then saying bitcoin is broke and unfixable. just to try steal users over to their altnet which they pretend is the security/strength/feature of bitcoin but better.. idiots

yep idiots. LN is not better security or strength compared to bitcoin.

I have not done anything with Lightning too. I am not planning in near future as well. But it's good to see many are doing it and services around it.

nullama, I have no idea about any of the sites but it's good to have a list of them. Maybe instead of formatting the way you did, you can introduce a table and explain a little bit in the columns with a link to visit. It will look much easier to read.

Good work, hope you will continue updating it.

Here are a few interesting projects/websites that use lightning in one way or another:

Stacker News. Read news, and get some sats with lightning through votes, posts, comments, etc.

SolDirac. A Q/A website that pays you sats via lightning to answer questions. Anyone can post questions and answers to them.

Lightning network explorer. Cool map showing public lightning nodes all around the world.

Sphinx. Decentralized chat/social media/etc, you can even sell your texts/photos/media out of the box. All using sats.

Juggernaut. Also a decentralized chat/social media/etc, similar to Sphinx.

zebedee API. API to use sats as micro-payments in games.

bitcoinfax. If you ever need to send a fax, you can do it with lightning.

lnsms. Send an SMS worldwide with lightning.

Alby. Use lightning in the browser. You can authenticate (no more user/pass), and make lightning transactions right from your browser. No need to switch between apps or creating invoices. All works seamlessly.
