I put in a deposit in the very early hours of this morning and just wondered how long does it take for it to show up on Britcoin (from a HSBC bank).

Hey,

If deposits bounce back then try again. Anything sent this morning will probably bounce, but everything is resolved now and they should go through again. Email me [email protected] if you're still experiencing problems with bounced payments tomorrow and I'll personally call the bank again.

Firstly, excellent site/service. I am very impressed. Over 48 Hours ago i submitted my first withdrawl request and it is still Verifying. Have i missed something? Is there anything else i need to do?

I hope i am not being premature in enquiring about the status of this request!

Many thanks

Glad to see that the Britcoin exchange is growing. It's vital that Bitcoins are circulated so that more value is injected into the economy.

I agree. It's so important to get Bitcoins out of US into the rest of the world. It's tooth and nail to keep this thing running and be writing emails all day and ringing government offices.

Yeah, a friend of mine attempted a transaction through HSBC but was blocked temporarily by their fraud detection service throwing up a warning (unusual traffic). After he verified that he really did want to deposit then they processed the details as normal. Interesting to see that the banks are monitoring this movement of GBPs.

Hey,

From time to time the bank gets locked every few months. Last time was for a 25 GBP transaction despite such high deposits and volume. We're adding another staff to work on the exchange and hopefully these problems will be spotted instantly in the future.

During the last 24 hours, people have been having trouble depositing because payments were rejected. Now that is sorted with the banks and everything seems fine. It is OK to deposit now into the account.

I'm in UK, want to get a little BTC, only about a fivers worth to start with, can I send a Postal Order.

your best bet would be to give your fiver to a friend and get him or her to buy it. a postal order woild take a while and tbh in that time frame you'd loose out on potential profits. Why not buy a whole coin?

It's not like FSA registration kept the banks honest.

Hi genjix!

Please could you confirm your FSA registration before I make a deposit?

I work in a bank, so can't risk trading unless everything is above board.

Please see: http://www.fsa.gov.uk/pages/Doing/Do/index.shtml

What are the regulated activities?

thanks!

You wouldnt be risking anything?! Its not your responsibility to check whether or not he's registered... you're just a customer of his declared services. Besides, if registration does happen surely thatll be weeks if not months down the line and by then you would have missed out on some juicy profits?!

With luck, you'll qualify as a small EMI, as described here: http://www.fsa.gov.uk/Pages/About/What/International/emoney/faqs/index.shtml

would he have to register with fsa if for instance he became an offshore company? I doubt they would allow anything bitcoin related to become registered?
