Yeah, not happy about that at all. They can run an exchange but don't know how to operate a bulk e-mailing program? Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

I've withdrawn my coins and will create a new account with a different e-mail address, just to be sure.

... Intersango is the best ever.

Even now that they just accidentally leaked the email addresses of all their users?

I use intersango - it's the only one I actually understood. I made a bank deposit, came up in less than a day. Was trying to withdraw some BTC, wouldn't work. Had a quick skype chat, fixed within 3 minutes.

Buying BTC, and selling BTC have been instant for me. So has withdrawing BTC. I am now withdrawing some money, so I wonder how long it'll take.

their new fee system is interesting, if you place an order that stays on the order books and someone buys or sells to you at that price they pay 0.65% + 0.3%. that 0.3% then gets given to you so you only pay 0.35%.

although they put everyones emails in the to section of the email to announce this, so people might want to change their emails associated with intersango. a rare screwup by them

trade fee is 0.65%

mtgox is cheaper

Just as cryptoanarchist has said, Intersango are much faster with deposits and withdrawals, never mind that they actually answer support queries.

I mean yeah you can go ahead and try to use Gox because it's cheaper at the moment (Intersango had been free for ages, didn't make much difference then), but if something happens with your account out of the ordinary you're screwed.

They are, but both their bid prices and ask prices suck, and transfers take days with Gox, not hours

I'll use them if they can beat a $.25 transfer fee or drastically shorten a transfer time of ~3-4 days with a reasonable fee.

If you transfer to dwolla its 25 cents and it usually takes only about an hour for deposits and withdrawals are in minutes.

They sound like an exchange set up by TPTB, but I will use them because I use all exchanges that I can. I notice they still have Paxum listed as an option - how's that?

That needs to be updated since the recent news about Paxum.

With the shutting down of TradeHill Intersango.com is now the second largest bitcoin exchange out there after MtGox.

It's run by genjix(Amir Taaki), a core bitcoin developer with his team Patrick Strateman(phantomcircuit) and Donald Norman(Incitatus).

From my own personal experience they are by far the most professional and well run exchange out there.

They're transparent, secure (often is members of Intersango that have pointed out vulnerabilites and inconsistencies in TradeHill and MtGox as well as other websites), the cheapest major exchange, have great customer service (even when I was all the way over in China), and are registered in the UK (instead of some Caribbean island).

They trade in GBP, USD, EUR, and PLN

Why are they not more popular? I mean when you consider the shady crap that's happened with the likes of MtGox, TradeHill, and numerous other exchanges why?

It's the second largest bitcoin exchange now, surely more people should be talking about it.
