Better to tell your friends/acquaintances the special about bitcoin and its blockchain, what its advantage than the current monetary system, than sounding like someone in the marketing team of an mlm, something a too good to be true.

I'll actually ignore you if you tell me those words/meaning, assuming if I never heard bitcoin before.

Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System

That was a few narratives ago and pre-2017 thinking. From 2017-2021 it was digital gold or a store of value. That narrative has switched again as the market is trying to aim at a larger target to justify a higher valuation. The new narrative is that Bitcoin is digital real estate, which is what they’ll need to sell it as in order to reach valuations of over a million dollars per BTC.

They asked me to introduce Bitcoin in one sentence or give him a reason to buy it.

I can't help but say this,
If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Bitcoin is a currency which is not controlled by any government but run in the decentralized manner which is the statement used by Elon Musk at an interview but he said especially Dogecoin too. Cheesy

Just tell them about bitcoin and they have to do the further research on their own if they want financial freedom, just read my personal text.

My friends and family, especially my father, can't understand me replacing money with a string of symbols
They probably never will, so don't be hard on yourself because of that. On my father's birthday, I bought him an easy to understand book explaining the basics of Bitcoin. He read a few pages and never finished it. When some people get to a certain age, they lose the willingness to adopt new knowledge and change. He has been working in the banking and IT sector, has never had nasty experiences when it comes to banks and his financials, and he simply doesn't see why he should abandon a system that has worked well for him personally all his life.

When we are on the subject of explaining Bitcoin, I would say that it's a technological breakthrough comparable to the Internet and Email of the 90s. Bitcoin is the first and most successful implementation of a tech known as blockchain that has no centralized authority, allows you to control how and where you send and store your money without answering to anyone else.

First and last,  you have to  distinguish between Bitcoin and bitcoin.
Did you by any chance see my thread Do you know the difference between Bitcoin and bitcoin?  Wink

Tell them it's return is more than your bank's interest and they will surely understand the shit out of Bitcoin. Smiley

Bitcoin is a reliable investment project for ourselves in the future. It is even more important if children do not treat the elderly well.

I see Bitcoin as an investment in the future of my children. I am always motivated by the words of Michael Saylor about the constant investment in bitcoin. As a non-professional, I believe in a famous person who invests millions in Bitcoin and advises to be patient. Therefore, in a nutshell, for me, bitcoin is financial freedom and a future for my children.

If it were you, which sentence would you use to introduce Bitcoin? Grin

I like the one by Steven Dryall:
"Bitcoin is digital money that is tamperproof and openly traded."

Like Steven said, the three points are very precise, accurate and create immediate understanding of the entire concept. Any subsequent questions will lead to further exploration personalized to the listener's information needs.

Bitcoin in one sentence for me goes like this:

Bitcoin is the first and last cryptocurrency will be known majorly. (cause I believe in 10 years the price of coin will still be in good stance considering we are going to a modern and highly technological era).

Yes there is a future but dont get your hopes on it alone. Its a speculative digital asset and anything could go wrong in a blink of an eye.

Neither.

Bitcoin is the king,
Assuming they have no idea about the cryptocurrency space in general, Bitcoin being "king" is meaningless.

Bitcoin is electronically protected or encrypted,
Not everyone knows what "encrypted" is.

Bitcoin may be a currency of the future.
Not super bad, but not a fan. Probably good enough if you can explain to them why.

With bitcoin, you have the future.
Sounds scammy.

If you don't buy it now, it will be the most regretful thing in 10 years.
Sounds scammy.

Maybe focus on explaining the things that Bitcoin fixes instead, rather than specifically pitching an investment like a salesman.

It's a way of sending money anywhere in the world within an hour or two (at most) - incurring very low fees.

It could be the precursor or something that is actually able to do what debit cards did 30+ years ago.

Thank you for your professional answer, which is more technical and reliable than mine.

Bitcoin is electronically protected or encrypted
Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency so it is cryptographically protected. You can encrypt your wallet file to have a second layer of protection.

Bitcoin may be a currency of the future.
Bitcoin can be a currency, asset of storage, but the best is Bitcoin is Bitcoin. You can use it as anything you want because you control your Bitcoin, control your Bitcoin transactions with support of miners for confirmations.

With bitcoin, you have the future.
With Bitcoin, you have your own bank if you use non custodial wallets. Recommended wallets. You can use Bitcoin Core, Electrum, Wasabi wallet.

Hello, I'm new here. Your advice are most welcome.(The search function of the forum doesn't seem to work well.I can't find what I want. Maybe I can't use it.)

I have been trading Bitcoin for two years and am a speculator.

The income in the past two years is not as much as that of a friend of mine. He is a believer and holder of Bitcoin. I decided to change from a speculator to a firm believer. So come to this forum -- this is the gathering place of Bitcoin believers.

In the past two years, I have met many people who don't understand Bitcoin and asked me what it is. They asked me to introduce Bitcoin in one sentence or give him a reason to buy it.

I said, Bitcoin is the king,

Bitcoin is electronically protected or encrypted,

Bitcoin may be a currency of the future.

With bitcoin, you have the future.

If you don't buy it now, it will be the most regretful thing in 10 years.

Some friends bought it, but sold it without profit in the short term. Of course, several friends have been holding it and began to understand the history of Bitcoin.

If it were you, which sentence would you use to introduce Bitcoin? Grin
