Hello folks!

My name is Katrina Elisse Caudle and I’m a writer and artist living in Canada. I’m 26 & I work as an event-organizer. In the past, I’ve worked as an organizer for social justice events, bookseller, and as an art model. I really like games and shows.

I stumbled upon Bitcoin pretty accidentally. I read an article on Autostraddle about it, thought it was nifty, & then forgot about it. Then, I went on vacation and the folks that I'm staying with introduced me to Bitcoin and I've been reading up on it heavily the past 2 days. It's pretty awesome! If I'm really lucky, we're going to go to a cafe that accepts bitcoins before I leave. Cheesy

Very nice to meet all of you! Smiley

Another newbie learning the ropes; I have done a little mining (around 0.5 BTC so far in "slush's" mining pool) and been visiting various free bitcoin faucets (nothing quite the equivalent of common Paid to Click websites so far but I'm sure faucet operators will get there eventually) for the past few weeks.
I am on a variety of web forums under various user names; which I will on some demonstrate to other people that Bitcoins do have value as a currency, once I come across enough to purchase an ounce of Silver (thereby also demonstrating money as opposed to fiat, hence my choice of username).

Anyway, off to find a few 'free bitcoin' threads and see how deep the Bitcoin rabbit hole goes.  Cool

It appears that there are lots of "scammers" that comment on introductions here. Please don't judge me by the company I keep.

Hi!  I am in the process of learning how to recover my wallet.  My password is a few characters off, and I have been attempting to use the guide posted here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=85495.20

If anyone would like to point me to a way to run the ruby code posted in that thread, I would very much appreciate it.  I am obviously very inept at programming by not being able to run a simple script that is already written!

Been mining for about 6 months now, started when BTC was worth $7 per BTC, right around the time Bitcoin mining ASICs were just a engineers wet dream. Amazing how fast this field has evolved.

Hello,

I'm from Belgium. I've been mining some coins with my gpu's (burned a 7970 in the process during past hot summerdays) since about 1.5 year now. I've been reading these forums for about 8 months awell. Also bought some shares from a company I read about here.(ASICMINER - seems it's going to turn out to be a nice investment)
I also started daytrading in btc to make a nice profit. I'm not a big trader yet btc wise but I'm becoming bigger as I go forward (in both euro & btc).
I believe bitcoin has a huge potential yet to be fully deployed & exploited. I've been advertising bitcoin with my friends & family. I've managed to get nearly all of them interested & invested in btc aswell since a few weeks.
In my country hardly anyone knows of bitcoin I think. Haven't met anyone yet that knew about it before I came by.
So there it is, not new to btc, just new to this forum.
