Greetings! I'm new to the whole concept of bitcoin, I just recently happened across it and found it intriguing. I hope to find the information I need to get started with it here and heck maybe one day actually be knowledgeable enough to contribute. Just call me Zen. I'm pretty lax, and If I say something dumb feel free to blankly stare at your screen and imagine thumping me on the head with an oversized club ^^

Hi everyone,

I've been reading a lot on this forum and on reddit recently.
I've been introduced to bitcoin by a Belgian member of this forum a few weeks ago, and bought my first bitcoins short after that.

I have a few web development ideas related to bitcoins.

Hey, I am not that new to the bitcoin, but rather, I have lurked for many years... waiting in the shadows >_> but no. I just didn't act because I didn't believe they would excel as far as they have. I wish I would have put a lot of my money into bitcoins when they where just 5 dollars a pop... *sigh*

Hey everybody I am R33FR and have been on the forums on and off for a while and I am ready to start discussing topics now. I usually have discussions just through networking with people on IRC etc. so I am not new to the bitcoin bandwagon you could say Smiley

I'm logic.

I started mining with a cheap $40 GPU last year once I first heard about bitcoin.  Was interested and thought it was cool.  Left it alone and stopped mining to play video games instead.  Got a decent 6950 for video games and started playing PC games only again for the first time in over a decade.  Then during January of this year, a buddy of mine asked me about bitcoins at a party one night, so my brain turned back on.

I spent some money, built a rig w/ 3 5830s and have it running in the closet.  Once it was running and stable, I then looked around the internet, found this forum, found out about ASICs, pre-ordered a BFL product.  And basically im still reading stuff about bitcoin as much as possible and trying my hardest not to spend more money on a better rig or on any other products available for pre-order.  Everyday it gets harder and harder to not through money at hardware.

BFL have massive supply chain issues. Right now you are looking @ june if you ordered at ASIC rig right now. And by then it'll be all too late, as the ASIC miners are entering the market now and bumping up the difficulty bigtime. Check out the chart. See that spike to the right? Yeah, that's right. ASICs. Lots of them. See that squared red line? Yup, that's the difficulty level - and it just jumped. And will keep on doing so until you receive your BFL. And by then it'll be all too late. Buy your way into coins instead - that's your best shot right now.

I am comfortable with my order timing and the fact that I probably wont make any real profit.  Nevertheless, I still like buying and tinkering with hardware.  Even if it does end up as a continual uphill battle to play catch up.  Still fun for me.  Thanks for the info though, Its basically the same thing I keep reading all around these forums. :-D
