Just heard about bitcoin on the radio this morning.  So I am checking this thing out.  The complexity of the system is really impressive, and I am amazed that such a thing has grown organically.  I am proabably not going post too much other than asking a bunch of questions.

Where did you here of Bitcoin?

If the Radio show is available online, can you please provide a link?

please do so! and get a post Smiley
don't be so negative, the 5-post-4-hour-rule is there for a reason: to get rid of the trolls. NOT to piss newcomers off.

relax take it easy and smile. Cheesy

Hello everyone, I've been lurking for well over a year.
Been mining for about 6 months and waiting on my BFL single ASIC to arrive since October.
I was terrified to begin posting because one of the posts I read said that my IP could be discovered from posting here.  I thought that would open myself up to attacks trying to steal my wallet.

At any rate, I need to start posting so that I can chime in on the speculation posts where I spend most of my time reading.  Also I need to have an avenue to promote/introduce new bitcoin websites.

Been hanging around for a while now, I am coming up on two years of forum membership.
I don't really post, so wasn't until recently that I realized I couldn't  Huh  Angry

I just came to say that www.bitcopia.com  worked for me, and impressively fast at that.

If you live near a Wells Fargo bank, and would prefer that instead of driving to a Bank of America (as is used by a few competitors), it is a great choice.
They have a ~5% fee at the going mtgox rate.
It was dead easy, took maybe 20 minutes to see it appear in the blockchain from the time I went into the bank.
I definitely will use it again.

Pro:
Everything is privately managed. A personal touch is always nice.

Cons:
Standard $1000 per day limit per person.  [ Can be defeated by going to multiple banks, but not all of us have that luxury ]
Can't input cash amounts, only can select bitcoin amount, which I suppose is by design to give each deposit a unique number, but still is a bit annoying.
I can't think of anything else, but thanks for the quick transaction Bitcopia.
