Hi all,
Started mining some alt currencies a week or two back, it's a little bit addictive Wink Just bought a cheap FPGA to have a go at making a miner, for fun rather than profit, waiting for delivery.

I was hoping to post on the thread for "Vuxil's Pool" (a PPC mining pool) as the payout system isn't working for me, which is a bit of a vital part!

Hi all,
I started mining a couple of weeks ago with GUIminer, yesterday morning  I got CGminer up and running and with some tweaking was getting 1.1Ghash/s on a couple of XFX (CG stats) 7950.
As of yesterday afternoon have only been able to briefly connect once and am now getting "stratum from pool 0 detected new block" on http://stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333. It seems others are managing to connect - any advice would be much appreciated.
I'm guessing it is a ddos problem but Slush has posted that all is ok now???

Back up and running, must have been a conf problem as deleted old conf  Smiley

Hi there
Pretty new to Bitcoin world ... it was incredible to watch the run up and then the crash ...
Unfortunately did not get my accounts opened fast enough to buy in at the lows - time to sit on my hands and do some more learning

Hello. I've been involved with Bitcoin since last summer and lurking these forums since then. I was drawn to Bitcoin because I have an interest in FPGAs and I wanted to make my own FPGA miner. I started designing my own PCB, but when I discovered ASICs, I abandoned work on the FPGA board. If I would have known that ASICs would have taken so long to come out (BFL anyone?) and the price of Bitcoins skyrocketing, I would have made the FPGA board. Now, Avalon ASIC chip group buys are going on, and I finally created this account so I can get in on this hopefully. I have the skills to design a PCB for these chips and get them hashing.
