So, I'm not trying to necro an old thread, but I did pay for CherryPicking a while back and I'm about to get my hands dirty with bitcoin mining again (my new rig will crunch 5.775GH/s!), so I'm curious: have all the pools out there updated themselves to be immune from pool hopping, or does pool hopping still work (and have higher than normal returns) as it once did?

Does pool hopping still result in improved earnings? Not really seeing any new threads about pool hopping like there used to be..

getting a new error from bitlc.net:

java.security.cert.CertificateException: no subject alternative DNS name matching www.bitlc.net found

anyone able to help? i've already tried to reinstall the java security certificate again and that didn't fix it.

I've been away for a while and this morning found my Linux miners to be giving the error:
The miners seem to be running (GPU temp goes up when starting) but the counter stays at 0/0/0 so I don't think I'm getting any.

So I thought: let's update my CP setup!

I go to the first page of this thread and click:
v0.6.6a to v0.6.7 (because I'm running v0.6.6a)
I get a page that reads:
Invalid or Deleted File.

Could anyone tell me what it is I did wrong to get this error on CP and if not maybe why I cannot get the update file?

I am not very keen on trying to take the v0.6.6 to v0.6.7 update file as it might corrupt things.

are you using windows? go to start, type command in find, open the command prompt, navigate to the folder with the 'cd' command for example cd desktop if it's there, type java -jar InstallCert.jar bitlc.net, wait, type 1. that should work then copy the jsscecacerts file it it makes which should be in the same folder to the your java security folder

thanks again blacbe, but i'm still having isssues with the java certificate. i copied the jssecacerts file to my Java\jre6\lib\security directory and replaced the existing file. how exactly do i add bitlc.net to the jssecacerts file now? double clicking the installcert.java doesn't seem to do anything

you need to add bitlc.net to the jssecacerts file

I run into a problem what i can't solve. I am looking some help from the CP users. When i try to run the CherryPicking.jar file i am getting a Java error message. This error message tells me the poclbm folder doesn't exist. Although, the folder and the file is exist and it is accessible by anyone...

When i run the poclbm without CP i have no problem. I am using Ubuntu 10.04.

Any idea?

is there a way to make mtred have slightly better efficiency than other pps pools? id like to mine nmc there while hopping. the hopper picks ars and abcpool over mtred

Use this config for mtred, it accounts for the recent changes (and scrapes info from their web page, as they seem to have removed it from the API).

mtred changed their stats a little so the current profile no longer works for them. i'm not sure exactly what changed but i get the same error

anybody know the api link for mtred? i want to start using them as a pps back up since they put in merged mining with nmc. the problem is now i can't connect to their stats they must have changed something.
