Oh my God. I thought my bitcoin address has been hacked or has been disabled. Thanks for this information. There's a dash or space when you copy it on notepad. When the address was from website such as facebook and it's too old, it automatically adds new character such as a dash or a space.

The problem is that there's a hidden character we cannot see, probably due to char encoding. But it gets copied and pasted anyway.

It is only seen when we analyze in binary:
Code:
             00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 0A 0B 0C 0D 0E 0F
00000000: |  31 44 4A 4A 6F 4A 34 73 78 77 4A 64 77 45 78 54 | 1 D J J o J 4 s x w J d w E x T
00000010: |  73 6F 44 67 C2 AD 38 71 58 4C 31 46 45 6F 7A 44 | s o D g . . 8 q X L 1 F E o z D
00000020: |  47 51 45 46                                     | G Q E F

Works fine without it: https://blockchain.info/address/1DJJoJ4sxwJdwExTsoDg8qXL1FEozDGQEF

I tried sending Bitcoin payment to a blockchain address using a blockchain account but I keep receiving a message "invalid bitcoin address". What should i do? Its urgent!

I had it before,... could you check any space? lets say it was copied as 1xxxxxx (with a bar space),
I had it also before.

I checked your address from explorer
and it also confirm that your address can not be verified,... somehow I think it is cool
and I am so sorry that I coudnt help.

I have one question: what kind of algorythm this programm has?
Program shows that this address - 1N2w2o2RkRiNQaKKKfdPUzhG6sWfU3qpLV is valid
But this address - 1N2w2o2RkRiNQaFFFfdPUzhG6sWfU3qpLV is invalid. Why so? I just replace "KKK" by "FFF". It must be a valid address too.
No. just because it is using the valid Base58check characters, does not necessarily mean that any given address using those characters is a valid bitcoin address.

This describes the algorithm for how addresses are created: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Technical_background_of_version_1_Bitcoin_addresses#How_to_create_Bitcoin_Address
This page will let you see address generation in action: http://gobittest.appspot.com/Address

Oh, thank you for your explanation. It's very useful for understanding

this is the bitcoin address.

I tried it on several other bitcoin platform but i still got the same report. But when i post my own wallet address, it is valid. So I told him to take a screen shot to see if there was any mistake but it was thesame.

Where did you obtain this address?  It does not appear valid.

That's funny now that you mentioned it, I used to see triple F in a client seed in a provably fair casino but every time I was moving between the characters with left/right arrows the triple F were skipped as if there was only one character, anyways back on topic, who added the hidden character in that address and why? your operating system doesn't randomly put extra and hidden lines in between something that you are copying.
How is that hidden? and what is the purpose of it?

Thank you very much so basically the best is to copy it in notepad.
I was just wondering where did you get your first picture? I checked all links/pictures in this topic and couldn't find it.
That is what I got when I copied and pasted the bitcoin address (that the OP had posted in Post#4) into blockchain.info address search... I actually use a Chrome extension that I coded that allows me to just select txid's or bitcoin addresses from posts and automagically search various blockexplorers for those values.

So try this link: http://blockchain.info/address/1DJJoJ4sxwJdwExTsoDg8qXL1FEozDGQEF

Because it sends the address directly to the https://blockchain.info/address/ URL, rather than the generic binfo search box, it does some validation on the text sent expecting it to be an address.

How excatly did you find that error? Can someone explain me? I know the character is hidden, but how did you know it was there? And is this only problem in BTC addresses or in general on computers?
Biggest clues for me as I was reading down the thread were:

and then this one:

But I got to the party late and the issue was already solved Wink

Sometimes you need to copy/paste into a pure text editor like Notepad so that you can see ALL the characters clearly. Notepad doesn't interpret them as anything else... whereas apps like Webbrowsers try to be "smart" sometimes and convert special character encodings for you... Tongue

Ok, what exactly is the problem cause i don't understand it is. Just a bunch of info about transaction details.

 Huh

The problem is that this 1DJJoJ4sxwJdwExTsoDg8qXL1FEozDGQEF has an additional character inside of it which is located between the two letters I made bold above. It is hidden so when you put it as the bitcoin address the code sees it but not you, so it finds it invalid.
When you remove that character it becomes this 1DJJoJ4sxwJdwExTsoDg8qXL1FEozDGQEF which is a valid bitcoin address.

Wow, you're a genius. That was wonderful. Now i understand and it works. thanks

1DJJoJ4sxwJdwExTsoDg8qXL1FEozDGQEF

the code is invalid in mocacinno.com/ how then can a valid code be gotten? The code was given by blockchain. Please, how do I upload a picture so that i may show you the given address in the wallet

I presume by "blockchain" you mean "blockchain.info"?  If so and it was copied fully, I would guess blockchain.info has a bug.

However blockchain.info doesn't recognize it either:
https://blockchain.info/search?search=1DJJoJ4sxwJdwExTsoDg%C2%AD8qXL1FEozDGQEF

You can upload the screenshot to a 3rd party site like imgur.com and link it.

That's exaclty what i'm saying, blockchain.info which generated the address does not recognize it.

Thank you, this is the image in the link below

Ask him to give you the QR code of the bitcoin address. QR has a built in error thingy in it which prevents any copying problem. He may have copied part of the address. For example it may be missing a letter at the end!

Even if you don't have a smart phone you can use an online tool to convert the QR into string (address in this case): https://webqr.com/
