The price it quite low now. So buying cheap is always good. But the price could also keep sinking the next weeks. So nobody knows.

If you want invest into stellar, very good when invest with exchange, but don't try trading with margin, you will loss your money because the price of Stellar always control by whales. Not have rule up or down, when have some trend trap, the price fluctuations will make margin trader get margin call or frozen

i don't think stellar good for long investment because too many giveaway
and price easy to dump although quickly bounce, but maybe best choice for short trade
Jed Stellar been told, giveaways is not for making price down. but it's for distributing the stock to the users in balance.
In 5 years later and more, price will going fast raise up. Hopes at those time people still keep XML in their wallet.

It is just like Ripple. The community doesn't like it, says its premine, and so on and so forth, but then the price rises. So i believe it will follow ripple's path, even though i will not buy it.

Then if is just like ripple the price may have more upside? I might grab a little for a week or two. Any exchanges have steller with margin trading?

Investing in stellar is a big no for me, but for day trading, it is good for short term since it has high volume in the market. You can invest in any coins, but nothing can guarantee your profit. Just do some research in your favorite coin and that is a good investment.

Stellar is just another speculation coin with no usage and pure speculation.

When the hype peak, it will just crashed as bad as litecoin.

It is now May 2017. I am reading this old thread. I have both Stellar Lumens AND Litecoin

Guess what? Litecoin is crushing it and Lumens are now around 4 cents from almost free.

It was a smart investment and have PROVEN to be so.

Premined does NOT mean it is bad. That is a myth that people hear and regurgitate over  and over again without really understanding what they are advocating.

CryptoQueenWiki

what you are saying it's true, but stellar got popular because of some linking features with your bitcoin address like byteball and a bunch of other, and i think some of those coins that hit big value with very high premine got very lucky frankly speaking, many other will die soon

Isn't Stellar a ripple knock off? I think it is rising in sympathy with Ripple.  Ripple is now half the marketcap of bitcoin. (Huh)

Yes. However, by now should be used to the usual shittalk by idiots with no clue or any capabilities for logical thinking, though they act like they know everything. This phenomena is predominantly bad in cryptoworld, as it seems. Nobody can really predict any price, but those people just randomly spout what is going to crash and what is going to rise, backed by flawed argumentation. So people should just look at the facts beyond random scam accusations or the usual "premine wont work!" crap and decide on their own instead of listeing to random retards of the forum.

I don't think it has any big future. More likely its going to be lower in price as more and more get distributed. It will be quite volatile in near future so you might use it for speculation.

when it is finish distributed surely it will go up, not to mention also many lost coins
dont forget, there is 20XLM burned on every wallet, as a minimum deposit

Not a fan of Jed Mcaleb but I LOL at the guy who says "Market cap too high"

It's only $2.5 million dollars, that is the market cap of a small company with a few employees or a small mansion. All the alt kids need to get out and join the real world sometime.

A lot more than just $2.5 million.  This is a cash cow that Jed will be milking for awhile.  Between his activities in Ripple and Stellar, he could very well be the first crypto billionaire (that isn't anonymous like Satoshi)

Did anyone actually pay money to get Stellar?

I know a few friends of mine creating tons of facebook accounts just to get Stellar.

Yes, when STR was still new and only few people knew about STR, I paid people some bitcoins  to register on stellar and send me their STR. I paid them 100k satoshi for 5000 STR satoshi and that was really a good deal for me, got more than 50k STR that way
