HODLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! Come on why do I keep seeing people like this. Hold your damn coins. There is no point is selling, in fact if you sell right now you're part of the problem. This drop in price was expected so you can either take your loss and gtfo or hodl and make profit in a couple of months.
The problem is too many traders of bitcoin wants to buy the more bitcoin at the cheap price before the hardfork will end. It's about their speculation to take the decent profit from bitcoin in the future.  Are you consider those are selling the bitcoin was a part of the bitcoin problem? relax, pump and dump just a common thing in crypto.
I agree this is a normal and common practice to buy at dump price and sell them when there is a pump to the price. Those who are still practicing the same practice are very right because no one here is for the purpose to stay idol. If someone thinks that doing so will be damaging the bitcoin so, I guess the damage has already been done. It is now the time of survival.

Dump it!!!
Hello,
I bought into BTC when it was worth both 2550 and 2320 for my personal trading.  I now have 0.2007 BTC and not sure when I should get out.
No need to panic its not manditory that you need to always sell

I have lost in total a hundred dollars just to the price of BTC.
You have not lost any bitcoins just a change in value Roll Eyes which is temporal

Is it worth it to get out now or should I wait for it to go back up to these prices?
you can choose to break even by waiting for prices to recover as we are not far from the the price you bought your coins

or you could find a good altcoin project to invest in and wait for your profits..only problem both require you to wait

Hold, wait it out. you're not going to badly miss 0.2007 BTC. You should be adding to your stash, not selling. Bitcoin is going to blow up in the future. Have some patience.

Patience is exactly that what a lot people here are badly lacking. All people complaining about the price going down are only here to make some quick bucks. If they were long term minded, they would just calmly wait for everything to settle, from which the market will slowly start to move towards the $3000 level again. But no, they invest (ahum, gamble) at higher levels in the hope that the price increases more than it already did. This is the price they pay. Smiley

Ask yourself one question can you afford to lose some more? Since you only a be 0.2 btc it shouldn't be a very big deal as when you bought for about $500 and now its worth $400 if you sell now you will suffer a $100 loss wants the worse that can happen? maybe you will lose couple hundred more, of you can't afford to lose that then to cut your losses, sell now or hold atleast till 1st August.

Depends upon when you need your money. If you need it urgently, go and sell it. But if don't then why would you sell your Bitcoin to encounter loss? My strategy is if the coin you invested in experiences a dip but it has potential. Then, hold till you need your money or the price comes back to normal. Here, you are talking about Bitcoin, one of the finest cryptocurrency. Simply hold and don't do panic selling. Don't even sell when the price comes back to $2500 when you don't really need your money. Keep your money invested in Bitcoin till the time you require it and see your money growing. You can even double your initial investment by the next year.

Actually there are two side of the picture your aspect of looking to selling differs from the one that I have. In my opinion it is good to sell your bitcoin now and wait for a day or two for the dip where you can buy more bitcoin with the same amount of dollars. This is a healthy trading activity and we should appreciate it.

Depending on your current financial state. If you are on need of money then no choice but to cash-out but if you dont need money and this amounts is solely for investment then better to hold off and dont stress out too much into yourself regarding on what you have loss there. Prices would eventually rise up later on, no one knows on when but still guaranteed that it would reach up that range or even go higher that what you are expecting too.

I believe your question is flawed. trading is like chess, your last move doesnt matter. its a matter of making the right move under the present circumstances. it doesnt make any difference what price you bought in at.

I thought you bought a whole bitcoin at $2,550. Still you had lost big bucks and how about the holders they are also ranting today about their lost profit. You don't have to do something, you only need to be calm, patient and wait for the storm to be stopped. It will happen suddenly and just watch the war of panic sellers and calm holders.

Great advice, unless we are headed into another long bear market. The last one went on for 2.5 years and bottomed at about 15% price of the ath.

If you can wait up to that year then it's fine bitcoin is a passive investment and the longer you can hold it the higher amount of profit or returns you can get. It's like the most patient one will be getting the highest stake and after earning good amount you'll realize that bitcoin is one of the best investments in the world you had ever known.

So by passive investment, you mean one which you assist others in making huge amounts of profits over a long time period by limiting supply (hodling)? sounds about right.
Hey guys, bitcoin is a passive investment - you buy then hold forever, never selling. Don't worry though, you will surely be in paper profits along the way to keep your spirits up. In the end though, it is a total loss because you never sell. Great concept.

How do you get your profit if you are not going to sell anyway? There's a need to sell but just remember to sell when the price is already good and high. And you already got a ROI so that you won't be having any regret when you had seen the price of bitcoin starts to pump again.

ask yourself the most important question: why did you invest in bitcoin?

* was it because you wanted to make more money?
* or perhaps it was because you saw how bitcoin works, how it is a decentralized cryptocurrency that is giving you financial freedom.

answering this question will help you decide what to do with your coins...
Nice, this is impressive to know the reason and the purpose for which one bought the bitcoin and accepted it.
Still I think whatever the reason maybe but no one here came for to bear any kind of loses, so any reason in the end can’t stop you noticing it that you are losing your wealth which is not acceptable to anyone.

The price might go down more. You could sell now and buy when it goes lower or you can just hold your coins. Price is dropping just cause of investors panicking, just few more weeks till we get to know whats going to happen on august 1. Prices will go back stable after then.
I have bought my first bitcoin in 2015. It was 1BTC at that time.
LOL!

I think you should sell it and wait for the price to go lower than that and then buy it this is how you will recover you losses.
The price seems to go low further because the panic selling has started and the bitcoin price today going down to $1800 indicates that the selling is more in market then buying of bitcoin.

You might as well wait at this point because the price will eventually recover. If you sell now you will be selling for a loss so just go for the long term investment. It's best to not watch the price right now in your situation.

The price is just under $1900, so you basically have two options at this point:

1) If you think the price will continue to drop, you could sell now for a loss and try to buy back at a lower price to help improve your position a little. Then wait for the price to get back to above $2500.

2) Hold and wait. Since we don't know if the price will continue to drop, you could just wait it out and eventually sometime next year, the price will recover and you will still make a profit.
