The best thing to trade between currencies. Buy OMG these days and when you get good rate, sell it for ltc and so on..  Mining things are too outdated these days

Though the amount you are having is actually very small for investments as it wont generate good enough profits for you, trading can still do the trick for you if you are lucky, of course. There are a lot of altcoins which grow more than 20-30% everyday and people generate profits by buying them at low prices and selling them back at higher prices. You can do the same, but it all depends on luck most of the times, because the coins people invest on also drop their price very soon and this causes loss to everyone invested in it. Now, you should do some googling, read the market and see the statistics of coins before investing. I wont suggest you any coin as i'm not a good trader myself.

So I have .01 BTC and I want to use it to earn more. I have a good understanding of how bitcoin works. And I understand the basics like wallets, keys, encryption and the like. But when it comes to decoding the internet of investing "Machines" I'm at a loss. I found a really nice site that did mining contracts that was paying out well. (coinpeak.biz) Then the service disappeared off the face of the planet. So I was hoping you wonderful people could share tips, tricks, and things you have found that work well when investing and making bitcoin without mining.
Appreciate it.
You can go with the traditional trading. Normally buying of alts and selling them off when you've got some gains. You've been fooled by that website, it's their modus operandi that after raking some investors and collected enough money from the investments they'll forget about you and will just close their website without notifying their investors. You can still recover with that loss, you can buy some alt coin now as they are bleeding this week because of bitcoin's pump.

Even you have technical knowledge about bitcoin you just did fell on a cloud mining scams. Those mining contracts that you have found are just nothing but a false promise coming from those scammers. If you are just going to hold that 0.01 BTC it's already an investment and you just have to wait for the value of bitcoin to increase and cash it out after. And when you cash it out, wait for the dip and buy bitcoin again at lower rate but if you don't that type of trading, you can buy alt coins at any legit exchange.

You can still make it grow. Try trading. Trading is the best way to make you btc grow. But this needs to be studied first in able to make passive income. Don't ever invest at any HYIP sites including cloudmining. Consider them as scams. You can also use it as a capital for lending service. But i think it's too small for capital. Trading is worth a try. Just find a good trading platform and find a good altcoins which has a potential to grow in the future. Altcoins are bleeding right now. It's a good opportunity because they are cheap. After Bitcoin hardfork. The volume is going to altcoins as traders will aim for cheaper altcoins. So buy now while they are cheap.

Heh, I would love to see trader who can say his trading income is "pasive".
This is not how it works. You need to be pretty active, watch recent market movements, do TA's etc. (yes, there is plenty of tools & bots but these needs to be watched as well - once you let them running alone you might be very surprised by the result).

With the rest I agree.

Sorry for your loss mate since this is really a common thing for newbies who do fall out for these kind of scam Ponzi cloud mining sites. You did able to decide to put up on the site because you are being deceived on the good payout and now you do end up on getting scammed.I can say such thing because I did experience such thing when I was still a newbie wayback before. For now you did already learned a lesson. Don't be greedy since all earnings on bitcoin does really need effort and hardwork.Theres no easy money on here. Trading would be suited on that kind of capital but yet it wont really be an easy stuff.

This lesson should be serve as reminder to anyone who try to invest on to good to be true offers out there, And this should think that there's no way that they can earn by doing nothing so that they could define that program who offers that are scam. And maybe it's ideal for the OP or to anybody to expand his knowledge and learn more things on how to earn decently by not spending any cents since on this furom we can actually earn more and if we want to earn more money then we should go on the altcoin trades since this is the most convenient way to get some profits beneath on online platforms.

Welcome on board. I offer you trade with bitcoin to altcoins. First of all use coinmarketcap to analyse coin's project, total supply and project team is very important. In addition that; don't forget to use stop loss, otherwise you may lose all your budget. Good luck

Consider your 0.01BTC play money, use it to try several exchanges, and experiment. Especially the small exchanges have low or no minimum trade volumes.

Keep three things in mind:
1. Whales love playing pump&dump games, it's great to get money from unexperienced traders. In the end you have less, and they have more.
2. Every transaction costs money: sending money to and withdrawing from the exchange costs fees, and trading takes a percentage. The more active you trade, the more you pay. Simply holding doesn't cost anything.
3. You need luck. The first half of this year altcoins went up many fold. It's easy to earn money when that happenes, but no guarantee it will continue. Since then, many alts have dropped 80% or more.

Mining contracts are crap. Thats for sure.

The 0.01 BTC is quite small amount for investing (just the transfer to invest site will costs you 1%  Grin)
If you really want to try minig then go bw.com or hashnest.com where you can buy the hashrate, but most importantly also sell it (but again your amount is too small).

My advice is try casino bankrolls and let your BTC growing (not a bad investment in combination with increasing price). You can leverage invested amount up to 10x but its risky and I do not recommend ( though 3x or 5x is quite safe). I have very good experience with crypto-games. (min. invest is 0.01 BTC so you need a little more to cover tx fee)
Feel free to find more details in my signature.

Alternatively you can lend them on exchanges like poloniex, bitfinex.

Your last option is to just  keep them in wallet as BTC istself is pretty nice investment Smiley (I bet you already notice that)
I have definitely noticed the simplicity in just keeping it Tongue
I have more then .01, but that's how much i want to start with in terms of investing. But i can for sure cover the fee.
When I send btc for some of the suggestions you made, is it okay to use low miners fees because it doesn't need to be extremely fast?

Yes it's ok. They will wait for tx confirmation (just takes more time to credit funds to your account).
Blockchain is pretty full at the moment (40k unconf. tx so it might take long). Also be aware the extremely low fee can result in never confirmed transaction (returning funds to sending address).

Investing in those kinds of sites are never a good option. If you wanted to invest, use fiat to buy certain cryptocurrencies that you think would rise in price in the future, or start a cryptocurrency-related business or website. That's pretty much it.

Like scams in other investing fields, we see a lot of scams in crypto world as well. You will see in form of mining, trading, investing and ponzy scams. I think u invested in auroramines which was a ponzy scam. Never invest or give your bitcoin to anybody. 2ndly never ever in your life give your private keys of your wallets to anybody anywhere as we have many scam airdrops asking for private keys.
As for investment concerns, as newbie keep most of your investment in BTC. 2ndly never put all your eggs in one basket means do not put ur investment in one coin.
3rd make proper research on a coin before investment and do not listen to people and invest in solid project like top 100 coins on coinmarketcapital website.

I would Like to stick to Bitcoin and Litecoin at most. I do understand the need to keep my keys private. However, The .01 I have now comes from one year of simply working faucets and passive miners. Im looking for the next step. I dont intend to invest or buy into any other coins. But thanks. The year before last, i put .01 btc into a lifetime Genesis mining contract. It gives about $8 twice a month. And is helping me build a small pot of btc. XD But I want to get into more advanced means.
