You shouldn't be investing a lot of money into something you have not properly adapted to. The same process should be applied for a completely new trader; do your research, practice on demo, pick a strategy and start small.
No kidding, and I've formed the impression over the years from reading posts on the forum that a lot of people jump into trading (crypto, forex, whatever) without understanding even the basics of what they're doing.  And it's no wonder that so many of them lose money in the process.

So as to whether OP ought to trade Forex or crypto, that's a decision that should be made only after you've become familiar with each one and it's also a matter of personal preference.  Thus, nobody is going to be able to tell you whether you should trade this or that--you might hear opinions, but you've got to make up your own mind.  And even after you've done all your research and decided on what to trade, you still run the risk of losing money.  The advice you're going to hear over and over on bitcointalk is to not wager more than you can afford, and make that your golden rule for your own sake.

however the forex one is so dangerous and so slow to move that you have to use a high leverage in order to make any meaningful profit
That could well be true--I can't agree with you 100% because I don't trade currencies.  But if we assume that you do have to use a lot of leverage in order to make a profit in forex trading, I'd stick to crypto if I were OP.  Leverage has gotten a lot of traders into a lot of hot water.

Since January this year, I have been trading forex as a second passive income earning. After making some money in crypto I venture into trading forex, but I got my finger burnt. I wasted a lot of money without making a single profit. I regretted this venture. I have come into conclusion that investing in the genuine crypto project is far better than trading forex.  The risk in trading forex is higher than investing in a genuine crypto project.
i think its depend on your skill while trading in forex or cryptocurrency market. forex market have high liquidity in each pair and have high community too. fundamental in forex and crypto market have similarity , they controlled by mafia and cartel . if we understand how they play i am sure we will could earn hundred percent in a day. risk in forex and crypto market  very high and both of them could make our money left 5% only in few minutes.
I strongly believed your point of view. When you understand how the market makers operate in the exchange market you will be at the advantage of the market. I just finished reading a book about MARKET MAKERS in forex exchange market.
It wouldnt really matter much neither you do deal with forex of crypto market because they are all just the same when it comes to trading aspect. We cant say about
being genuine or better because it all varies on how you do trade up.

If you do find out that you do make more money with Crypto then you can stick with that and if you do find that you do make money with Forex then you can do the same action.

You cant conclude that one market is better than another. It will really just depending if where or what market do suits you in.

From my point of view you have not really gotten enough knowledge in forex trading before venturing into it, statistically 95% of traders in forex trading lose money however with a proper skill and sound money management in addition with a working strategy you will be profitable in a long run, you could had started with demo first to learn the robe after making profits consistently thereafter you can embark on funding your portfolio even trading cryptos too requires some basic knowledge ie by avoiding trading blindly for example buying at peak instead of selling, your account can also be rekt while trading cryptos there is no short cut or cutting corner in learning trading.

I doubt if your above statement can be verified to be accurate. I have done both (invested in cryptocurrency and traded forex). In forex trading, with the right tools and understanding of the market, the forex market is on another level and won't be reasonable comparing it to that of bitcoin. The risk are less as it's heavily regulated. What make forex superior(in my opinion) is that the market capitalization is very high and you can make profit irrespective of the price movement of the market but that can't be achieved trading cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency on the other hand offers the privilege to keep holding onto your investment when your prediction doesn't favor you. With forex, if you predict wrongly you loss all you miney but in cryptocurrency you only lose when you sell.

All trades have risks, whether crypto or forex. If you feel forex trading is more risky than crypto, because you fail to make a single
profit when trading forex. And because you are more good at crypto trading than forex trading. It's not that make forex trading is bad,
you just haven't mastered it yet. My advice so you should focus on what you are good at.

All indeed. There's always a proper approach from every venue of investment, risk is there if you don't have the right skill follow the process.
Not because you already have a good experience with crypto trading means that forex is already bad, if you will also make a clearer look with how forex works and use that same dedications that you use when you are still new to crypto trading, eventually  it will enhance your chance to also adopt and
benefits to this venue of investment.

I do not agree that forex could be any worse than crypto, after all they are both stuff that are very volatile, however the forex one is so dangerous and so slow to move that you have to use a high leverage in order to make any meaningful profit -snip-
But the leverage is only needed because the parity is so low. At the end of the day, it depends on the percentage you win or lose, whether leverage is necessary at very low parities or not is not really important.
Bitcoin, for example, generally fluctuates a lot, if you would use leverage here, it would fluctuate by 20-30% instead of 2-3%. With Forex, however, you need the leverage in the first place to even get to the 2-3%.

On contrary to that in crypto if you do invest into it directly and buy bitcoins and hold, you could double your money, even triple it. However if you were to leverage bitcoin that would have been same risk as well.

Hmm, I will not get biased but I think we can't fearlessly say that forex is better than crypto trading in general. Every investors got their own interests, we should respect that. If you find that you are not well suited to forex but okay with crypto then that's great, at least you realized something before losing money further Cheesy. Follow the field where you excel.

But you know what, I want to try forex trading in the future as well. Though it was more technical than the other one, I still like it because it challenges me. You know, there's nothing wrong of being versatile. Whether it's fiat or crypto, money is money baby Wink.
It is not debatable after all because all of us have different perspective, of course we are here in the bitcointalk forum so in our perspective; cryptocurrencies are more good to trade and it is also expected that there are people out there who thinks the opposite of our perspective where they think forex are more suitable for them. I rely on my preferences after all so I trade cryptocurrencies often than any financial securities. My second option is the global stocks in etoro and I usually avoid forex because it is none of my interests.

You have just done it wrong and dont expect that any market would be the same and forex market is totally different since you've  been dealing with currencies
not just cant really be that the same on projects that you can see in crypto where theres a tendency for its price to rise.If you do make some decent money in crypto space
then better continue and dont rush up on jumping to other markets just for the sake of diversification because rushing things will really lead into mistakes.
Dont make them as similar because even though they do engage on market price movement but when it comes to volatility then its
totally different.

Why not do just both? We can do Crypto trading via Forex broker, so there is nothing wrong with it. In fact, I love it. I do it through FreshForex broker and I feel rather easy and comfortable. I believe this is better than anything else.

It’s clear that you invested in cryptocurrency and didn’t trade it, that’s what you have said. Investing in cryptocurrency just as you have said is completely different, and I would agree with you that investment is better than trading forex or any assets at all. When it comes to trading, you’re taking huge risk of losing your money in the trading. Another important thing you will have to consider is support and resistance, you have to know the right time to buy Bitcoin, and know when you’re likely to sell. If you don’t have these things in mind, then you’re just going to be investing at random times when you might not make any profit.

As for forex trading, you don’t come out from nowhere without having proper knowledge on how forex trading works and right strategy to use and start trading, you’re going to be losing for sure. I know people who are into forex trading, they make use of brokers like Alpari and eToro and it’s working out for them, they are making money from it.

If forex is not working out for you, you shouldn’t say that it’s not legit. It’s just like people who say that options trading is fake, I have seen a lot of people call them scammers, when it’s clear that they are the ones who don’t know what it’s all about, they don’t have a single understanding on what it is and how to trade it. My advice would be that you should just focus on cryptocurrency since that’s what seems to be working for you. If you still have interest in forex then you will have to learn before you start trading it.

whether or not it depends on the risks of crypto and forex. each of them has different risks.
If you don't have basic knowledge about trading in crypto or forex, don't ever dive with big capital. Especially if you trade in forex, your money will be lost even if you can't read the market. Unlike bitcoin, you still have the assets you bought, but the value of these assets fluctuates, so it depends on market demand.

Both are great when you focus on one, but for me it's certainly more cryptocurrency fun. And in this forum it is clear that everyone likes crypto over forex. Crypto is more diverse, many choices and easier to understand in my opinion.

Psychologically it is better as well, right now there is a chance that forex could upset you even more because in forex what we are talking about fiat and that is why I think it is vital importance that forex has to do well, if not that means your country is not doing as well. Think about it, if you are doing forex with your national fiat versus dollars and dollar becomes much better while your own fiat drops a lot, you might use forex and make a profit from this, yet it is still horrible for you because your nations fiat currency is dropping in value and that means you as a whole nation dropped in economy.

Whereas in crypto, it goes up or down but no nation is affected by it like that, bitcoin could be zero and only the investors are affected, population of all nations are fine.
When it comes to trading psychology, many traders fail in that part because they do not manage their emotions very well where they are not aware on their feelings and emotion when they do trading. Having a winning while having good mindset can make a trader to become consistently profitable in every types of market but we should also know our own capabilities in trading because not all of financial market have same approach in trading. Consider the volatility and other factors, we cannot conclude that forex is more good than crypto or vice versa because both of them requires experience and a lot of skills in order to master it.

Depending on ho better you could study the market. They both involve risk but your understanding of how to trade also reduces the risk. Sometimes forex commodities can even go as bad as reading negative but I have not seen that in crypto. Your perseverance and patience will greatly determine how far you will go in trading crypto. In a few minutes, you can make a huge profit or lose huge amount in crypto

In cryptos these things happens too often when you invest on a completely new project, so its better to trade cryptos than investing on new projects because good projects are rate to find these days. And in forex the profits are very low compared to cryptos so don't expect same level of profits at every kind of trading you do.
