Lack of blockchain knowledge, this might be a big deal, with just reading a very short post I think is hard to digest, it's not accurate.

By the way withb this post petrified me to think of a real way of investing

Currently working on a web application that will help cryptocurrency enthusiast with what cryptocurrencies to invest in and how to allocate between each cryptocurrency. But before I get too far ahead of myself and start building something, I wanted to see if other shares the same problems.

Before investing, analyse the market and invest in prominent currencies, revise the team and future investment.
If doing significant investments, it´s important to consider security, hence consider buying hardware wallets.

I have just started trading / investing crypto currencies. my trouble is that I'm very new and I have lack of knowledge.

If you think crypto is going to vanish and fiat will win this game... You need to understand the upside and downside better.
Fiat is: easily taxed. Subject to gov manipulation. Able to be easy taken from you by authorities.
Crypto is none of those things. Crypto is the future of finance.

I voted for too many options and it has a lot of vote on your poll. This is the problem that every trader is dealing with, we do have a lot of choices and we always think that all of the mare good for investing.

I'm a type of person that sees opportunities for everything that's in my sight and most of the coins does have it except the ones that are really garbage in the world of crypto.

Anyway, good luck to that app that you are building hoping you'll give us some update and will love to use it then.

That's why you must try to learn more about crypt through various kind of the thread in the beginner and help section. A lot of people are coming in the crypto without enough knowledge to determine the good and bad project. that just like to be a mandatory to learn more about crypto.

My biggest concern is trust. It is very big issue... There are dozens of icos coming day after day. I read about them, I learn the basics. But it is never enough. Sometimes project creators are just plain bad people.
Yes, however you read clearly you can't conclude whether this will be a perfect one to invest. Here too luck has taken its role, so just invest with trust, if you are with hesitation just skip and try to find an alternative to what you've selected. Diversify the investment, so that if one goes wrong too can try to manage the loss.

I think the answer will be "too many options".
People tend to be focus on every potential earning, but you can't focus on every coins, there are thousands of them.
To optimize your earning I think you should have strong knowledge in a few coins, instead of trying to have everything and no control and knowledge on it.

My options are: Too many options and Too many scams (trust). There is a qoute about chose. I don't remember it word by word, but the sense is the following: It's bad when you have not choice, but it's worst when you have it Wink

As the main problem is the variety of options, I guess it would be nice if your app dealt with that somehow. For instance, maybe there should be a system of rates for currencies (like rates for films) which will show how many people consider it as a good investment. Apart from that, perhaps very small guides about currencies would be appreciated, because there's mostly not enough time to look at dev teams, roadmaps and white papers of all the coins that look promising.

That sounds quite interesting your idea! Any current web apps resemble this?

I chose too many options and time constraint. When you lack blockchain knowledge, trading tools and other crypto info then you must have time to study and understand it. The new coins are getting more and more interesting nowadays and are currently replacing the old ones in market cap. Education is the key here that even if some aren't very good on charting but deeply understand the coin's fundamentals they keep getting good gains.

I voted for too many scams, let's speak the truth here, it is really hard to trust this ICOs ( which you can see that almost daily they are posting on altcoin announcement thread) I'll trust them if they can create a signature campaign that pays Bitcoin. With that step i think they will gain the trust from the investors.

sorry for the offtopic but first this:

What do you mean "that pays Bitcoin"?

and now on topic:

This is cool idea, I think the most big problem is that there are not easy accessible wallets for the altcoins, so you can have the private key.
This is the biggest problem for me, as I can not trust exchanges with my coins, and it is hard to make wallets for all the altcoins.
So this is the biggest problem for me. Also not small problem is the scam that comes with new alts...

But this idea is really cool and I hope you develop it good.

P.S.: IDK why but can not vote on the pool Wink

Thanks for the feedback! Would you be willing to create an account on a platform and send your BTC/ETH to this account. Then choose a portfolio from a selection of portfolios and the platform would buy this portfolio for you, manage it, rebalance etc. for a small commission fee (% of your BTC/ETH)? Would there be a way for you to trust your coins on a platform?

If it is regulated - yes;
If it is decentralized - yes;
else I will not.
I like to keep my crypto in me, so I can control them in each time I like to.
So sad that for now there are no such a company/platform.

btw if you need help send me pm Wink

The only problem that i am always dealing is the too many options. That is a problem for me because when i am planning to invest my money into cryptocurrencies, there is already a lot of options to choose from and that is the problem because it will cost more time for me to finalized my choices because i need to do some research first.

You're in a Bitcoin talk forum, basically everyone here knows about bitcoin, the blockchain, the altcurrencies, and other bitcoin related topics. I think the only replies you'll get from here are:

1) Too many options and
2) Too many scams

Because that is what we see everyday. In the announcement forums, we see too many coins launching every second, and too many scams launching every second.

These other options are not very good answers to begin with (in this community):

1) Lack of blockchain knowledge
Only newbies have this problem and newbies can't vote

2) Time Constraint
Well if people had a busy life and time constraints they would not be in this forum

3) Lack knowledge with trading tools
This might apply to some people here as trading even as an intermediate person can still be hard

4) Complications using crypto brokerages
Yeah this is an issue a lot of newbies may face, but again newbies can't vote

Thanks for your feedback you are very much correct and I kept wondering why it was locked for voting, now I understand:). What platforms do you recommend me to reach out to that fits my options?

Why would you choose to "invest" in this bullshit over other options ?
And when i say 'invest' i use that term loosely.  Roll Eyes

You *could simply put your money into a bank savings account.
You could participate in a regulated stock market.. and get professional trade advice.

What is it that makes you all flock to this unregulated scammy retarded bullshit ?
If you want to "invest" maybe Google search what a sound investment is.
I can tell you right now people that now what they are talking about will not advise...
"investing" in unregulated scammy shitcoin ICO clone gimmick tokens  Cheesy

Me ? I think it's a tornado of fraud and children.
Either or.. preying on each other.
None of them with a shred of integrity.

People with class & integrity would not be involved in this idiotic bullshit.
