Maybe they weren't expecting 2.0 to really happen. Maybe they were so tired of the prolonged bear market. Maybe it's basic human psychology that makes us think things are worse than they really are.

This exact thing makes people commit suicides. They think there's no way out of the situation but there always is, you just have to live long enough to see it resolve itself.

What I don't understand about these newbies orientation about investing into the space is that they believe everything here is a ponzi, that the price will keep going up. Those people that positioned themselves into Ethereum knowing fully well that FOMO would happen when the launch date for Eth 2.0 is announced know what they are doing, think like big guys and not a small mind that always lose

So many people already recommend ethereum as a long term investment. As you can see now so many people talk about ethereum 2.0 and say the right time to invest, but sometimes hype moments like this also have risky. So before deciding to invest in ethereum make sure to think clearly. I also invest in ethereum but not too much, i don't want to become greedy for this moment.

ETH is recommended coin and most investors prefer investing in ETH, however there are some people who find also ETH bad for investing and as you above mentioned they are shilling ETH. When price of any coin is down, everybody says that it is not worth to invest in this coin and mostly it will be died. But it is not the same for every altcoin, absolutely for ETH. ETH is second cryptocurrency and top altcoins are always great choice for investing.

That would be the general concept, your money and the choice rhymes right but you need you understand the risk too, people usually do not view the risk involved and all they see is the speculation of rallying and end up investing in the asset and end of loosing. It's true Kesmex, it's risky to invest in Etheruem right now if OP plans to invest in short-term, gaining some short-term profit
is a question. The price can change its course and start decreasing after bullish period.
Investing in long-term is good thing in anytime, even now. You don't need to invest everything you have, start with 30% of your
capital, and if price dips buy more with the rest, if price continues to rise buy again with 20% and if price dips after new rise you will
have some capital left to invest more and buy the dip.
