Another point i would like to highlight is that, there is no need to have so many coins/tokens. Many popular youtubers already have advised that it is really ok that you were just holding on to about 5-8 different coins. You are still able to follow closely to these coins and is able to make better decision to buy or let go of them when the market or the dev team changes.

I'm still not 100% sure of the success of altcoins in the future. despite the current emergence of new ico, which I see only as a mere speculation to take your money in their gambling on dev.
so I am of the opinion that you are still investing on the 10 altcoins you have just gone through, and keep abreast of the news

Only you can decide if you want to invest in more altcoins.  As a general rule, don't chase profits.  You should invest in an ICO if it's something you are truly interested in.  Don't throw money around in crypto without doing research.  You will stand a better chance at earning more profit if you stick to your plan, whatever that is.  It's okay to change your plan, but do it because you have the money to invest and have a good understanding of the ICO you want to invest in.

If you decide to invest your money in ICO, be careful. ICO is like a double-edged sword. It can give a lot of money to people who buy you ico before they go to the trading floor and when it goes to the floor it's worth it many times before going to the floor. You can disappear if the ICO does not follow its desired route and fail but hugging altcoin or bitcon is different. This market is very easy to recover and it is easy for newbies they can fail but lose. The capital is quite unlike the ICO

I need some investment advice from the veterans here if possible.

Earlier this year I executed my plan and took the plunge by investing in 10 altcoins each with an equal amount of dollars, with some bitcoin left over. As this was my first time I made some mistakes in investing at the wrong time, other coins I did OK. I'm currently a little above what I originally invested in and feel quite comfortable for the time being.

Now that some months have past I feel that I would like to increase my position in all the coins I previously invested in which I believe are for the good long term.

However in the past months I have seen some ICO's with good potential and would of liked to have invested in them but couldn't because I wouldn't be sticking to my original plan with the coins I already invested in, and sure enough recently they had increased a lot in value and I could of made a good return. So my instincts were correct and I should of invested in some additional coins. I know it is said the FOMO is a strong feeling but what happens when it is right??

Are 10 alt coins enough to be investing in?

If I spot a good investment opportunity should I invest in more alts eg. from my original 10 up to 15, my worry is when does it end as the hype never ends.

All the coins I have currently invested in are good solid coins with a good long term future but may have already past their strongest growth phase. If I have a good feeling about an ICO which has good upside potential should I dump one from my current portfolio in favour of a newer coin which could explode?

Hard decisions....

I think the real important issue is not about how to invest, it is about the investment portfolio. Do you have some stable coins like bitcoin? If you do not have it, then it is better to start accumulating more of it. Bitcoin is to make sure your portfolio tanks whenever there is a shift of demand.

There are good ICO's.

An easy way to eliminate most of the potential scams is to look at only the ICO's that have software that you can use.

Like everyone said best investment advice is to do what you think is right. Nobody here can predict the future, we can only do what we think is right. You already made it this far and doing good, you don't need someone else to tell you what to do.
But here is my advice, don't waste your time diversifying or investing ICOs unless you spend a week researching and contacting the devs. It's easier to get burn by ICO than holding something like bitcoin that already proven itself to work and gaining value than buying ICOs. Most of the ICOs are scams right now by people that only got an idea and want to cash in the crypto hype with no technical skills to pull it off. Honestly I think it's a waste time unless you are planning to go short term pump and dump the ICOs, long term most ICO doesn't work because FOMO hype goes away and people move to new ICOs.

There are legitimate ICOs with good potential.

But there are also a lot of scams and crap ICOs.

Well if you really want to succeed on your investment make your plan well and then execute it, people here will tell you where to invest but you still have to analyze it, so i think if you see those coins that you are holding are in good condition then let it be since your goal if for long term you will surely make good money on that.

Thanks, I made a mistake the additional coins I am interested in are not ICO's they are already operating for at least a few months, some even years. After researching I see the possibility that some have yet to reach their full potential.

However I am concerned about taking on more coins when some say alt coins are in a bubble. And just wanted to know if investors have portfolios of many coins or do you prefer to invest more money in just a few or only bitcoin?

The best investment advice is to not take investment advice from anyone without a detailed knowledge of their past performance and you know the personally.  I think you had the right instincts in the coins you wanted to invest in and made a good decision by not investing any more than you could afford to lose.  I would think adding additional coins to your portfolio is a good idea as long as you are not sacrificing gains you could make with your current holdings.  As long as you are doing your own research and feel good about the ICOs that you want to invest in then I say pull the trigger as long as you are comfortable losing the money.

You are the only one who can decide in where to invest or not, if you are stuck with that investment for more than a few months and you did not get any return, then why are you still holding those altcoins? sell them right away, and buy bitcoin or just invest in that ico that you want, it is your money, you are the only one who can decide in where to put those bucks.
But i would not invest in ico's, i dont know, they are profitable as fuck, but i dont like them.

It is all up to you,be careful with ico,sec will come with his legisation. You almost all icos are traded
below his ico price. You already saw whan btc is rising alts are going down.I will have problem to find ten alts worth to invest,.You can find good alt,ico before major release, than buy and sell before release
Currently i know only two new ico's worth attention, but i am not checking all of them
Good that you are in profit at begining of your journey, dont be to much, sell if you feel to sell buy back whan you fill to buy back
