Iota development is really progressing these days. I think it will come back with boom.
I do not believe that. I invested in IOTA when it was always in the TOP 10 in 2018-2019, Except for the massive development from the strong flow for the newly emerged and replaced coin. I admit, the IOTA development team went the opposite way in their development. Not that I missed it and forgot it, but this 2021 will be a realization opportunity for new coins to grow. ICX is even more interesting than IOTA at this point.

As long as IOTA fail to become decentralized I refuse to call it a cryptocurrency. And if I had to chose I'd rather invest in NANO than IOTA.
Would you like to call the decentralized cryptocurrency as a fail crypto too since it was fully centralized like IOTA and NANO? I think that you would not call that as a failed crypto lol That's the problem but i never heard the centralized has brought IOTA DAG into the serious problem like the double spend or something else.
The price and trading volume of IOTA have recently started to change. I think that with the active market, IOTA has been listed on many exchanges and the trading volume is also very large. The technical strength of the team is also good. If there is a bull market this year, I think it should return to $4.
If you noticed, then with the growth of bitcoin with alts, the following happens:

Bitcoin is dominating the whole market totally now so Yeah in any chances Altcoins will stay behind for i think quite sometime still.None of them are getting closer to what Bitcoin is achieving and continue taking These days .

IOTA doesn't seem to be utility coin and it's caused by IOTA is being used to create a micro payment system only. It was using DAG but i heard that IOTA will be creating a smartcontract based on oracle but idk whether this becomes the true story or not but this coin is not worth to be bought as investment right now.

I think many top altcoins are yet to reach their ATH but that shouldn't be the basis of investing in IOTA if I must say because it might not reach ATH anytime soon, but since they are believed to have partnership with big companies that then is the right basis to Invest because from all indications it is a coin with good utility and therefore one day, the attention it needs will come around and the growth everyone is expecting will happen. There are many coins without any utility and where are they today after their huge pump?, but IOTA is still very much around and progressing although not very much as anticipated but even at that, it's use case makes it to stand out and it will grow one day because of more adoption.

Well the technology has been around for a while,,, and DAG type crypto is not new, I even took part in Byteball early on and they were the first IMO to show how useful the tech could be,,, but they all still do not have the desired utility levels.
