Definitely not in my opinion. Let's not forget, after a great December it was all '2018 will be the year for Crypto', 'Bitcoin can reach XYZ' .. A January drop which is a pattern year on year and the talk of a downfall blows up ... Of course that's not to say it won't be but personally I think we'll see it rise again.
Probably already it is, do not forget the fall that had during the first weeks of January which was very surprising for all, but I think it is normal taking into account all the factors that can affect the development of the btc economy.

In 2017 is a very high increase of bitcoin value but in early 2018 it dropped so drastically. This fluctuation is very high gap. But it does not mean in 2018 this is the fall of Bitcoin. It's still early in the year. It is possible that events by the end of 2017 will recur again in 2018.
Nope 2018 is not the downfall of bitcoin and even the next 10-50 years from now in my opinion, bitcoin is here to stay and change the world. the prices may go down at some point but it will recover as usual. 😊
I would suggest that you check the historical price of bitcoin dating back maybe 2 years or so and you will see that it is common for BTC to fluctuate. Given that it goes down dramatically if there is FUD like banning or regulations being implemented. Vice versa when there is good news. But as the saying goes, nobody can tell what 2018 holds for BTC. What we need is faith in the technology and patience.
Good point of view. If you want to see the big picture you have to check at least 2 years graph, you can even check 5 years. why are you checking just one month and saying is it downfall of bitcoin, of course not.
I do believe Bitcoin is gonna keep growing. The media just hates Bitcoin at the moment, but this is gonna change.
I don't think that the bitcoin rate will fall in 2018. Bitcoin is the stable currency so that its price is unlikely to fall for a long time. You can expect a short term drop, but don't panic and run to the exchange to sell the depreciating currency. The change in the exchange rate of bitcoin is solely under the influence of market processes. This cryptocurrency is not an act of economic and political factors.

Nov. 29 ,2013 exchange rate peaks at $1242 on Mt. Gox
Feb. 2 , 2014 dump into $717. Major Exchanges Hit with Ddos attacks.
Feb 24 2014 continous dumping at $547 Mt. Gox closes.
April 10 2014 deep price $408. Chinese exchanges bank accounts closed.
Oct. 06 2014 $323. The slaying of bearwhale.
2014 to 2016 very volatile price of bitcoin.
But Nov. 9 2016 will rise the price of bitcoin at $726. Donald Trump elected as president,market Plummet.
Whole of 2017 bitcoin is profitable. Well see the future of 2018 what happen to bitcoin. Nobody knows when price of bitcoin will rise again.

I say don't worry about bitcoin price. it price increase or decrease 2017 last 2 month btc price highly increase then what do you think 2018 first btc price down. I think btc price increase after a time. Just look at the one characteristics of bitcoin,the Volatility. And then just flashback the bitcoin price from the beginning. You will see that flactuation in bitcoin price is normal. Maybe next month it will rapidly rise,nobody knows,but the only thing i believe ,2018 is just the beginning of bitcoin prosperity and not the downfall.
I agree with your reply that ups and down is always their in bitcoin and this is just the starting of 2018 still their are so many days left and surely we can see the price above 20k in this year.
I do not believe . Why do you think 2018 is a year of failure for bitcoin? The value of bitcoin is plummeting over the past few weeks, so you think it will crash. I do not think bitcoin will easily collapse. It seems that the difficulties in early 2018 will be a step forward in increasing the value of bitcoin in the coming months. Bitcoin decreasing price since last month the bitcoin downfall. I hope this is temporary because many users has losing a lot. Many surprise that it has so drops lower price and I think that also that price will increase maybe this upcoming months.

If you see the price graph of last year then undoubtedly you will be relieved. Because last year the price started with only 10000$ but ended up with 16000$. There were may ups and downs but above all the price was high... So, I think we all should be patient. One day the price will be also high...
bitcoin has still grown a lot when compared to its old price thats why i dont think 2018 is the biggest downfall for bitcoin although bitcoin has indeed lost some of its gains ever since we hit the new year . overall theres still a posibility that bitcoin could recover again and have a major comeback after some things had sorted out because there were been many reports lately about country banning bitcoin as well as social media banning crypto ads. I suspect that these factors also bring an effect to the current price of bitcoin.

Don't worry. The price will be high again. Crypto currency is an unstable currency. Sometimes it falls and sometimes it again rise. Though Bitcoin started low this year but it's not sure that it will be remain like this. Today it falls but tomorrow it may rise again. I don't believe, bitcoin is downfall in 2018. It is never possible that bitcoin will have its downfall this 2018. We all have seen the status of this crypto in the market and it has been dominating for quite some time. Many have been very succesful through bitcoin. So long as there are investors who provides life in bitcoin, this would not end. Although we have seen its exchange rate went down, yet this doesnt mean bitcoin has come to an end. This has stayed firm and unbreakable so why would we think this year would be bitcoin's downfall?
