To be honest, in as much as AI is in fact a threat, it has limitations.
Let me start by saying that, the future of human existence is already in danger due to the presence of AI. During, a research or interview with an AI robot, the AI was asked a question about it's greatest dark thought and it said that robots would rule the world since they were more advanced and better than humans, and they'd make humans their slaves. That's scary already.

Ok, so AI can give you straight answers to whatever you ask and want to know about or may not even want to know about, just a task or assignment maybe. But, AI won't write tests and exams for you, the answers from AI sometimes are even limited to just what is on the net. Besides, if you look around there's a great emphasis on what one could do when they read books. I used to think that this generation was filled with people who were lazy and wanted the short road to success only but I've come to realize that the amount of smart people you'd find around is even overwhelming. So, there's still hope.

Note please, it's not wrong to use AI once in a while. School activities combined with social and personal life can be too much too overwhelming sometimes. Do what you can to ensure efficiency in your academics.

bro make i shock you say, both the ones wey you think say dey very responsible dey also say how easy, sweet and efficient ai dey for learning and to cove up some assignment with minimal time, so surely dem fit dey also put body small small but not as that of the unserious ones, sometimes using these AI tech them go det make you feel like say you dey smart but the truth na be say e just dey make us dull the more. and if you never know make you know now say student of this generation dey sabi carry phone enter exam hall to take do expo. na petroleum training institute(PTI) wey i been attend for my diploma degree and for this school if you are being caught doing expo for even your final year exam, na house you dey go so. but still yet we still dey see scap goats wey dey default on a stead and nothing like abeg, dem dey go back house straight.

I do not think AI is a threat at any point, there is no responsible student that will depend on ai for everything. The consideration of a good student will be; will AI answer questions for me during exams ?, How sure are you that AI answer will follow the right direction that will suit the lecturers taste.
AI help student have clue of what they want and AI saves student stress of searching many platform for answer. The AI tool is useful to get information very fast.

Yea, during our parents time school hard. Dem dey over stress themselves to get answers to questions and you know the difference between them and us now? That their educational era produce employable graduates.  Dem fit defend wetin dem study anytime and any day.

But you see this present generation now wey no like stress at all? na dem dey spoil the system and na still dem dey shout "school na scam". Why school no go be scam when students no know wetin dem dey do for school? They prefer to copy and paste rather than do their findings and researches themselves.

AI or no AI, the truth be say majority of our Nigerian students dey lazy and that one no be better thing. No be AI sef be our problem,  our problem too long.

The day you go try visit any of the universities especially those departments them wey their school work no too involve calculations and practical, you go surprise wetin you go see. Students no ready to read again, their target na how to arrange "chips aka bullet" or smuggle their phone enter Hall during exam. I agree with you say AI no suppose be a treat to our education system but you suppose know say them sabi abuse anything for Naija. Like I said before, people are becoming indolent,  relying on AI for everything, lacking critical thinking and this one dey affect their decision making. The day our lazy policians will fully grasp how to use AI, forget it, na AI go rule this country 

"Who dash monkey banana?". Nigerian public schools implement AI for teaching sector? I laugh in Swahili! If you go to computer science department of most public schools, you go find out say then no even get plenty computers self and the programs wey them dey learn na obsolete programs them wey other countries don grow pass.


 

Wetin dey cause this one na say, students dun see say nothing come out from the education system as after you spend all the 4 years for school, everything you learn nothing you go fit use am do as work no dey so na to dey find other hustle wey go pay you while you dey school. Now students dey look for quicker means to use commot the school and na wetin make sorting dey increase for university. Another thing na to use AI use do your assignments dem wey go help you get better score so e for boost your final score and you no need to sort much.

If you no use the short cuts dem, people dey wey go use am and do better than you so next time, you no get option but to follow dem use. If Nigerian students go overseas dem go still do well because no be as a result of wetin dem dey teach us wey dey make us dey brilliant but due to our own hustle. The system there dey encouraging and how we dey succeed no go change.


We no get a system wey we go fit implement AI technology for our teaching sector and make it work, instead we go use am wrongly as student no go dey interested for learning again instead dem go go for the answer to any exam questions, students no dey read to know when dem dey Nigerian schools, dem dey read and learn to pass exam and na all the focus be dat so AI for this side go get more negative impact. We first need to change our educational systems as e dun lose the values e been get before. Imagine say the way our forefathers been learn na so we still dey learn. The school curriculum need to be changed to the 21st century learning pattern then na when any involvement of AI go come work for the schooling system.

What exactly should we expect from a country where we have an illiterate ruling us as the president of the country, I personally do not see Ai as a threat to our educational system, but rather, a technology that will bring alot of improvement into our educational system if well applied, managed and regulated.

I can bet that thus Ai is more intelligent than most teachers we have in our schools in this country, even the lectures and professors, Ai is good and can help impact even more knowledge to our students, thats they may never be taught in school.
But however, the tech must not be mismanaged, else, it could turn out to become a threat to our educational system.

You're right, person like me go get that impression like, why stressing yourself to read when you know that the country doesn't have any job for graduates, people will even say school na scam because no job, I was discussing with my friend and he told me that he has gotten an Admission but not the course he wanted but he said he will accept the admission because no be the school certificate go feed am, all this things na wetin join to dey make students use AI, even lectures use AI, and after making my research Nigeria no even follow for country wey dey use AI, make we no dey carry problem and wahala put for this country

Of a truth AI is a big threat to a lot of students across the globe. It is not perculiar to Nigeria and I still wonder where we are heading to. My major concern is that critical thinking is fading away as people are relying so much on tech.

The truth is that AI actually limited in a lot of academic work such as core Engineering that requires the modeling and simulation of active engineering systems. Any student who rely in AI in such a situation might be frustrated.

Nevertheless, AI is a wonderful innovation hut care just be taken least we become redundant

Well there's  a novel I read,  a man said that time will come when technology will change the world and there will be generations  of idiot and I think the time is here and now because most student leave their books because they have AI and youth of nowadays you see them snapping AI pictures reason because it change their look.
However, I think it is also good if you use it properly because whatsoever that have an advantage will definitely have a disadvantage so I think it is also cool if you don't misuse it. So it will only be a threat if people misuse it.

You talk true OP, but if you be wise student, you suppose know when the answer wey AI dey give you dey correct or not. Dem get the way person go answer you and you go immediately know say dis one no dey correct and d person just dey try prove point wey no make sense. Since dis AI comot, I fit count d time wey I don use am sef, I dey forget sef say e dey exist because say I no dey use to am and I no really send am like dat. If you still get zeal to study and become better person, dis AI go come in handy but e no go be your primary provider of information when you dey read.

This is not just a Nigerian issue but one that affects the entire world, it is even worse with Indians, Nepalese, etc. They can do anything without Chatgpt. Recently, I watched a video in which an Indian student acknowledged the help of chatgpt following his graduation. Some advanced lecturers in some countries have been trained to recognize the uses of AI and they demand more that makes using chatgpt more challenging

I fon reason this matter tire and to me I no see anything wey they wrong with using Ai for school the main reason for that thing na to help reduce the work of students when they wan do assignments and other research. Waiting I come to understand say life they change gradually and the same time things they change. Our parents time school hard because them no get access to all this things, i  can not argue that students are getting lazy but the issue of Ai to me no be bad thing. Sometimes am sure the Ai self go give better explanation pass lecturer.

Sometimes when we talk about this country and blame the younger people for either being lazy or as we are discussing about using AI, e look like we dey expect miracle to happen.

My question be say how many Nigerian president don get clear and undoubted certificate? Na from one court to another to hide their shame. So how dem go do better thing and budget better money for education when dem no sabi the value.

Before the country reach this bad state wey e dey now, student dey read na, student dey use library wella, if you enter library everywhere go full but no be now again, everybody dey look for quick money and some dey find make dem rush finish, learn or you no learn you no go see job. So na part of the problem be the reason wey AI don dey take over the school system.

   What's been the most recent act of students is the reliance on AI tools in most schools works, tests, assignments and exams. It's not the educational systems fault though because it's just a clear evidence that technology is most definitely gradually taking over the space. Although the system is poor and way behind the standard and most recent guideline of education in the world and there really has to be an upgrade. In their defense, I bet that it's not just Nigerian students that make use of AI tools for their school work but the issue is Nigeria students have over maximized it's use that they now feel so lazy to sit back and think for themselves, the solutions to every problem from school as an assignment or test or exam.
   They put their full reliance on AI and as always, AI saves the day. The school's system is poor no doubt which on the other hand causes this full reliance on AI, if Nigeria's education should focus a higher percentage of their energy on practical examples, I believe the students would have more insight on the knowledge trying to be passed on to them. But the absence of this practical real life examples, just leaves them to imagining possibilities.

This month will be making it a complete one year since the famous A.I chatbot tool ChatGPT-3.5 developed by OpenAI got launched in November 2022, and hence made research very easy, which could be done in few seconds. So if our university students might have decided not to take studies serious simply because of the presence of A.I which they could use in providing solutions to questions on few seconds, when it comes to writing promotional exams is a moment that will tell if a student have been reading or not, as it will always tell on the outcome of the result.

Note: A.I were created to be a tool of last resort while making research, and not to be the primary tool.

Just like they say, "there two sides to a coin" I think the same applies to the use of Ai to Nigerian students and as long as the world keeps changing in terms of technological advancement then such things are bound to happen for example, several decades ago when there were no search engines like Google and the likes of them, as we now have them you would notice that people depended more on books for information and to also carry out research, but that is not the case anymore as it is far more easier than it's used to be to get information or to do a research, so rather than criticize the system one should look at the brighter side and the advantage and ease that accompanies Ai. Under British standard phones are allowed in classrooms during lectures so a student log into the internet to get information during classes, what an innovation having information at your finger tips, in as much as the risk of getting wrong information in the process, I think Ai is one the best innovation of the 21century.

What you should understand is that good things can get into the wrong hands and abuse become totally inevitable. For the students that know what they are doing, AI is an added advantage to them while studying and for some critical questions you might not be able answer, if you bring it to Chatgp for instance, you might just get some guide that will help you understand it. Those that use AI in the exams have always involved themselves in exams malpractice before AI even can on board so they only saw a better way of involving in there malpractice. Personally, the AI has been of great help to me both while I was in school and even now that I have joined the circular society. Sometimes I might have an idea that I want to develop but it might not be all that refined and organised at first sight what I do is that I just go to the AI and communicate the idea to it and get response from it and I add whatever additional information it has given me to what I already know. If we embrace the benefit and good things that technology brings, we will know that it is definitely here for our good and not the other way round.

Well said mr DubemIfedigbo001 its so sad knowing that even our Nigerian lecturers also help in the promotion of Ai unknowingly by not doing their duties properly, you see when we talk about corruption in our country, we are talking about everything inside the  country, meaning nothing is left out. And because of this same corruption many lecturers seem to just use this opportunity to extract money from their student without proper check on their writings. This things dey vex me well well because I get broder wey dey complain almost every week say dem wan buy this and that or dem wan pay for something, las las dem go graduate and dem go still tag university as school wey no get good educational quality. We no say AI come to help us oo, but the abuse naim be the thing wey dey very bad wey we dey do.

I love AI because it make things easier for us, mostly we students, I am not saying this because I am abusing it by using it to cheat at school.

Moreover, I think we blacks are always lazy of reading, so it is not a new thing if most of us are using an AI at school in terms of learning and we shouldn't use it to cheat.
