The abuse of merit system today should be look into by the administrator Theymos because he's the one that created this tension over here; and many forum members have abused the privilege. Don't have issue with the merit system, since we were told that the said merit were scarce but the reverse is the case with this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/souvenirs-from-the-bitcointalkorg-5124304 . This means many source merit hold their merit without any reason, Lets give freely because freely you receive.

Suggestion: Theymos should not reverse those merit earn by forum members because it's the advantage of April F**L. Haven good time with Xal0lex.

In the opposite side, I don't see such huge merit circulated today is merit abusements. I think it is merit destroy.
There are so many users hoarded their merits for more than one year, then today, they decided to destroy them all.

I think this topic[1] is the only one that merits will be removed from it.
The restrictions for each subject is 50 Merit but some members have posted much more.
I wanted to check that, but I'm afraid of losing the rest of my sMerit that "my local board needs it"

The same thing for the "✅ Verified" word, I did not check the reason, but it seems to be related to the comment on this topic [2].

Yes you are right the merit cap to send to a certain user is 50 merits but I think it is possible to send another 50 merits for that the same post and it will result to 100 merits total after. The same process to be undertaken if one do like to send 300 merits more by sending 50 merits for six times. 50*6=300 merits.

Yes, that topic is an outlier and should be excluded.
After excluding all merit circulated in that topic, especially OP, total merit circulation in the forum today till now is nearly normal (based on your given statistics).

The amount of sMerit awarded today is not that large yet, although there are still quite a few hours to go and it could easily double. So far, today there have been just over 350 sMerits awarded (going over the recent stats), excluding from this count those awarded to the Souvenirs from the Bitcointalk.org thread (some of which may be rolled back, some will definitively not).

It’s not really a large sum yet, and it’s all out there for all to see, trace, dissect, or whatever.

Mostly happened in the Souvenir topic, so it's very easy for theymos to do reversion tomorrow.
Yeah, it is concentrated in the OP, no where else in that topic.
Personally, I think it is a good indicator that theymos might do this is most of big merit senders in that OP are merit sources, or staffs.

From merit sources, if they sent merits to non-merit source it gives them sMerit, that will be the start of merit circulation.
