I doubt your man on the street has ever heard of Bitcointalk or the constant scams on this forum.

I suspect most of the news people had heard was MtGox stealing a fortune and weird back-alley / coffee shop robberies of Bitcoin sellers.  Also the SilkRoad too if I hadn't already mentioned that.

ELI5 version (explain to me like I'm 5):  Fat Frenchmen [who is now skinny] steals everyone monies.   Bitcoin dangerous.  Bitcoin drugs.  BITCOIN BAD BAD!

Is bct losing all credibility with fud and scammers?

Ive been  here since 2013 and it has reached a point that this site is used to talk down any project that a person is not involved with.

no wonder projects are moving to slack...

thoughts?

That is because most of the projects are scams. Even Ethereum itself could be a scam. It is not a scam yet but we will see what will happen in 10 years time. That platform has scalability problems, blockchain bloat problems and if they scale up the dapps will have difficulty in functioning well because every node must save the state. If there are millions of transactions you will see how difficult it will be to have a good functiong dapp.

The people here at altcoins forum are usually scamming themselves into believing that the project they support will be used by the mainstream.

WOW  Shocked

You guys blow me away..

What is it that you define as a scam ?
I'd like to know because i started a topic before asking this and got 0 replies.

Ethereum is not a scam ?

Let me put it this way.. if they were running their ICO coins in their pre-sale as stocks in the stock market the little "Foundation" and their Russian leader would be in jail and there would be a massive Federal investigation underway.

You have been told 100 million times about the massive colossal list of scammy parts to the ETH scam and yet you all push on with it.

WHY ?

$$$

Apparently if some scheming shitcoin bullshit is popular then it's automatically exempt from being a scam.

You are provided an infinite list of reasons why it's a scam and yet you IGNORE THEM ALL.
You simply pretend the reasons have not been posted 24/7 since i made a scam topic on it 2 years before you a were all here beating off to it counting your cash.

It's not a scam ?
Where were you ? defending it on my topic from 2014 then ?

Which ETH scam point do you want to debate ?
Take your pick..

Sorry but just because YOU want to make money and it's popular and others are doing it.. does not make it legit.

Keep trying though, because i am sure the rabble here at BCT is changing everything. ROFL
Just do what you usually do.. ignore the "FUD"
Then carry on pretending your scam coins are legit.

Oh and in case you are curious how to detect a scam i will tell you.
Don't worry it's not hard to grasp.

Off the top of my head we would have to say two major identifiers..

1) Intent (nearly impossible to prove unless the "team" slips up)

2) The fallback common method is.. design.

If a coin FUNCTIONS like a rigged, unfair, improperly handled, poorly thought out, NON-Currency used for nothing but profit then it is in fact a SCAM.

A scam is easy to tell because it is simply HOW IT WORKS.

..oh oh but Spoetnik they like "Penny Stocks" you all caw like crows.
If they were Butters & friends would be in jail.

Bullshit.. you are a senior member with damn near no activity.
In that time period you should have been Legendary by now if you contributed even a little.

How much did you buy your account for ?

And FUD ?

Retards for the 1,000000000000000000000000000000000th time

it is warranted given the context / circumstances.. hence your stupid fucking CONTRADICTORY topic title.
BECAUSE there is SCAM'S.. then that means there should be FUD on every single damn coin project that exists.

And if that NEEDS to be explained to you then your are fucking retard.

By the way i'd say your meta topic is meta.. not Altcoin section "veteran user"
There is a whole section for bitching about how this forum is.. in case you didn't know Wink

You are all fucking greedy little dipshit rejects crying FUD for bucks $$ blow me
..and get a job at McDonalds Investards.

If you are not me then you are doing it wrong kidiots.  Cool

Only thing i am sick of at all in the entire Crypto scene is retards crying FUD as though it is not deserved.
Give it fucking rest already morons.

And by the way assholes..
I coined the term "Crypto scene"
I started saying it mid-2013 and you all would not shut the fuck up bitching at me over & over saying it's not a "scene" getting all lippy & insulting with me.. guess what ?
It *IS* a scene and i said so, so it is !  Grin

PS:
Want to hear less about scams all the time ?
Quit supporting them and they will stop making them dumb fucks.

Bitcoin is crypto currency, bitcoin is not the one to blame here but people who are using it in a wrong way I don't think it will lose credibility, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages

I am not aware of any valid FUD around bitcoin itself asides the Chinese government planning to ban bitcoins which turned out to be false.

Is bct losing all credibility with fud and scammers?

i still see people investing in bitcoin with no attention to all that crap, drama, and FUD that is going around. and also i still see businesses big and small still accepting bitcoin without attention to any of the above, also price has been rising for over a year consistantly so i guess it is pretty safe to say bitcoin has the credibility it had and it is still growing.
