Yes bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and by all means for digital transactions just treat it as money like fiat currency and nothing more. It does not mean that one should just waste their first earned crypto to some casino. Do something fruitful with it - trade on it, save it for future or buy something with it. Why would a newbie want to multiply their money - greed? I think yes and this should not be the condition.

If you only have a small amount of bitcoin then no, betting is not a good idea. Gamble with fiat if you only have a small stash of bitcoin's. Bitcoin is too precious to waste gambling if you don't have a lot. Hold onto your bitcoin, it will be worth more & more as time goes on.
A newbie should enter bitcoin if he will just gamble for fun but if your purpose to for "long term" profit, you are in the wrong place. You need to know more about taking risk and gambling doesn't fit you. Go for trading of alt coins that's even more worth of your time and you can take time to study on how you'll get long term profit there.

Anyone can get into gambling, it depends on whether you like gambling or not. in gambling no one can get long term profit, there is only win or lose and also a bit of luck in it. I think gambling is not a good investment
Well this thread is whether newbies should gamble or not. I think to gamble or not to gamble depends on the person and not based on other things. In gambling it is possible to get profits but there are more losses than wins. As an investment - I dont take it as an investment - rather its just a mode of entertainment and nothing more. For newbies I dont suggest it.
I think we need to earn the newbie about the dangerous of gambling, when you just started to gamble you think that you can beat the house and gained profit every day and that can caused the person to lose money quickly, gambling is not an investment, gambling is not and can't be your source income, gambling is just for entertainment
