Definitely not. I think BTC has grown so rapidly these last few years beyond people's wildest expectations. You are only looking at the short term. Bitcoin has (for years) always gone through its highs and lows.

I really can't understand why people keep saying it's game over for bitcoin just because there has been a fall in the price. We have seen falls before and then the price has gone back up again. More companies are now on board and are accepting and I see it still being a big success we just need more people to be aware of it and understand it.

Double digits would only mean intelligent people like me getting in HARD thus price sky rocketing eventually again. You won't see much for the media because the media doesn't want to unveil the alternative for the FIAT scam .

I know it could never happen without some crazy bad news, but my lord could you imagine for some freak accident of reason took place, and we seen double digit priced coins again?  Oh man I would sell things I don't even own for Bitcoin's hahaha.  Tongue

Bitcoin definitely lost all momentum and interesest from the media.
Is this the end of bitcoin?
All banks are banning it pretty soonish.
Double digits incoming.
Back to the old school silk road price's.
Has the bubble popped?

Well it's worth 5 times what's been worth a year before, more than 25 times of what's been worth 2 years before and the ecosystem is still growing every day. The experiment that is Bitcoin definitely isn't a failure! The technology is still going strong, we'll have to see about the future economy though!

In my opinion you're confusing the the acceptance of Bitcoin as lost momentum and interest which is a mistake.  The media has had time to figure out what Bitcoin is and I think it's more that we are in a phase where people are understanding and accepting more then anything else.  This period of stagnation is not a surprise to many people and that is why your so confused and way off target but I can understand why you might make such a mistake if you haven't been really paying attention.
If by bubble you mean pointless dumps then yes I suspect so.  Cool

Recent prices are down, but bitcoin is surely a success.

Of course it is. Bitcoin is a huge success. Grin He is probably telling due to the lower price. Bitcoins are being banned as they it as a threat. Many companies accepted BTC payments/donations and it is still growing. Smiley

Well, I Just spent $500 worth of BTC at Newegg the other day and got $150 back. So nope! Cheesy

Me too. Those of us with any sort of perspective are in continual awe with just how far we've come in the past few years.

As Wences Casares says, it's FAR more amazing for bitcoin to have gotten from nothing to where we are today in terms of adoption, infrastructure, price, mindshare, etc...than from going from where we are today to being the standard international unit of account. Strong statement.

In case you missed it, here's the video where he makes that statement:

Thanks for sharing. That was one of the most rationally optimistic talks I've seen in a while.

Also, I consistently save 20 - 25% on all amazon orders by funding them with bitcoin through purse.io. If you live in the U.S., this service alone makes it insane to not spend bitcoin.

yes, the price went down. therefore bitcoin is a failure! Roll Eyes

it can't just be UP UP UP. the craziness of 2013 had to be followed by some term of consolidation. i still see nothing bearish about the long term, anyway. in the meantime, the blockchain keeps chugging along. Grin

Wa ha ha -- was just on the phone to my crypto-biz partner. We're blown away by the pace of adoption. A year ago it was business by business. Six months ago, company by company. By Christmas, it'll be nation by nation.

yes, bitcoin is a complete failure for failures who expect to triple their earnings right away. it's like some bitcoin users feel like it's some sort of privilege of theirs to triple their investments in less than 1 year.

learn patience.

And maybe go to school instead, because you sure are dumb.
