I wouldn’t say it’s better because fiat has its own benefits and anonymity.
-Fiat is good if you don’t want to rely on the internet
-Crypto is better if you despise the banking system and the idea of infinite fiat to be printed (This is ofc belief-based)

However, they both can work hand to hand with one another.

maybe every digital-based.investment or a business that is fiat will certainly have the impact of their respective advantages and disadvantages, as for example today where the digital system in bitcoin can be done anytime with an unlimited nominal amount, but it is the same with fiat which can also be used in an urgent time, because with such conditions.the party is really needed by its users

Btc and fiat have their respective advantages. They can not be juxtaposed , because the function of each is clearly different . fiat has no added value or if it is stored the value will remain the same. In contrast to btc , btc has the potential which if we save it can increase or decrease which is unstable . This is what I think they are the best in their respective fields and uses.

I think both Bitcoin and fiat have their advantages and disadvantages. Fiat is easy for the whole community to access because it exists in tangible form and the value is stable, while Bitcoin makes transactions faster and minimizes corruption as you said above. So I assume that the two can complement each other, so far I still can't say which is better. I use fiat to transact and Bitcoin to trade and invest.
the two of them cannot be compared because in fact they contribute to each other with what they have, let them support each other where one who is unable to attend will complement each other to be able to be there.

there are still many countries that still need fiat because trading is still manual and has been done for a long time for payments in traditional markets, while bitcoin complements transactions that cannot be done by fiat such as sending funds quickly anywhere and no need for banking anymore.

so each clearly has advantages that cannot be equated but rather to help each other in their shortcomings.

How does fiat currency compare to Bitcoin? Now Bitcoin is also legalized. Both have advantages and disadvantages and can complement each other. El Salvador introduced option payment. You can pay in the currency you want to use.

It is definitely better than fiat if we understand bitcoin correctly. The important thing here is to use bitcoin and cryptocurrencies correctly, to understand them correctly, not to try to control them with ridiculous prohibitions. He will definitely kneel in the future against fiat bitcoin. With its technology, bitcoin cannot even be compared to fiat. I think it will affect the whole world in the future.

the freedom is what is being fought and thats why we are here currently with several trials to limit the success. there is no doubt about the efficacy of bitcoin but yet need a better adoption rate to reach a final level of being better than fiat after scalability has been solved. still yet, insiders are making use of it as a payment option.

Well both bitcoin and fiat are very important to human life. Fiat is mostly needed and accepted world wide for exchange of goods and services, while Bitcoin is an asset that can be gotten or bought with fiat for future purposes. The way this world is moving now, the value of Fiat is reducing drastically as technology has advance and the world is now diverting its modes and means of exchange of goods and services from Fiat to crypto, reason been that crypto have high expectations and tendency to overtake fiat. Therefore, Bitcoin is more better than fiat because with bitcoin, you can control fiat, and make life easy.

Although bitcoin is not regulated by the government like fiat currency and thereby it’s less credible. But what makes bitcoins better than fiat currencies is that you will need intermediaries for the transaction of fiat currencies, meanwhile that’s not the case with bitcoins.

For the first time in history, money is separated from the state. Bitcoin aims to be an alternative to Fiat currencies by providing financial inclusion to anyone, anywhere in the world. A system governed by mathematics and cryptography will put an end to corruption once and for all. The pioneer cryptocurrency can be used globally without limitations thanks to its decentralized model. People can send cross-border payments in minutes without the need for ID verification, background checks, or credit checks of any kind. This brings a whole new era of financial sovereignty as we know it.

What do you think? Is Bitcoin better than Fiat? If not, why? Is it still too early to tell? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Smiley

I guess it is more better than the fiat but in some other areas that doesnt have internet and even cellular phone to use, i guess fiat is more useful for them. I believe that whatever it is fiat or bitcoin can be use and more convenient in a different way and in different place.

I think one day, may in next 5-6 years when 99% of the Bitcoin will be mined, the price of Bitcoin would be stabilized and with Lighting Network or other Layer 2 solutions we could see Bitcoin as a currency. But at this moment Bitcoin is just am Asset and maybe in Price Discovery Mode.

Maybe even sooner than expected. After all, Bitcoin's adoption is growing at a very fast pace. Once regulations and institutional investors come into play, we can expect the crypto market to stabilize. A stable Bitcoin will surely challenge Fiat's prominence in the mainstream world. It will truly decentralize the global economy. Imagine paying for anything using your Bitcoin without the need to use Fiat as a unit of account. Things will change in many ways that were never thought possible before. But since most people rely on Bitcoin as a speculative asset, so I don't see this happening in the near future. At least, we have a decentralized alternative to Fiat. And that's what truly matters. Just my thoughts Grin

Why do you say once the regulations come into play? That is what is going to kill off the industry once and and for all if the greedy politicians get their way. I'm afraid the effect of regulation is already taking place in a lot of countries in order to prop up their own currency with inflation concerns.

US is leading the way, UK is following closely.

Institutional investors would turn to gold before Bitcoin, though some of the "smart" ones jumped in on Bitcoin early, and got rewarded for it. Don't expect them to join the bandwagon soon.

Bitcoin gives us solution for the limitations which exists in fiat currency. Bitcoin and crypto might have some different limitations. Both the currency formats have their own pros and cons. It depends on how we are looking at it. Crypto is in early stage of development so it would be too fast to compare it with other forms of currencies.
That notwithstanding, haven't you seen the way in which most fiat currencies around the globe are becoming worthless with the high rate of inflation coupled with the high level of fiat printing in some countries? Bitcoin /cryptocurrencies in general and I mean the top ones are a good place to invest and kinda save you funds these days and even make good profits from it too but this is of cause not saying Bitcoin will replace fiat but at the moment, I will rather have my assets in Bitcoin than hold Fiat.
Infaltion is there but we cant really deny that we are still living in a world on where it is heavily dependent on fiat and i dont see any reason on why Bitcoin should really be compared off with fiat and minding that
it could be replaced by it anytime soon?  Its an impossible thing yet fiat would still remain even though lets say that it is much better with fiat but it would still remain no matter what.
There are things which Fiat do really function to be more efficient compared to bitcoin.Im not belittle on bitcoin but this is the truth.

Bitcoin better than fiat in all aspects do you know why now that inflation is increasing the price of bitcoin is also increasing massively but if your money is in fiat, the way inflation is increasing your fiat is stable. So maybe if you plan on buy goods worth 100$ and maybe you are yet to buy the goods after few days the price might have increased to 110$ if you are holding fiat your money will be stable and you will have to add money to get the goods but if your money is in bitcoin the way the price of goods are increasing bitcoin price is also increasing.
In all aspects? I dont think so because even lots hadnt really like that non-reversible thing but there are still people whom do much prefer on being centralized which does simply means that Fiat does
still really have relevance no matter what. Lots had been telling about the goodness of bitcoin and criticizing fiat but we should realize on how useful it is on most transactions that we are doing
on day to day basis. Why would need to have some competition if both could exist and make use depending or according into your needs?

Exactly, Holding Bitcoin is profitable but it is not good in all aspects, as Fatunad mentioned that Bitcoin is irreversible, as a human being you can do mistakes at any time, so using the irreversible property globally is really too risky. If you send funds to someone mistakenly then there is no chance to recover your funds or seize that account. For doing banking activity we must have to use a reversible asset like fiat or something like that. we need to use both bitcoin and fiat in our daily life, and Bitcoin is better than Fiat in various aspects but not all aspects.

I see bitcoin itself still has some weaknesses, as well as fiat. but for now, fiat is more familiar and has received recognition from the government as a transaction tool. but on the other hand bitcoin also has advantages over fiat. So I think that if both are used, they will complement each other and make people's lives easier

There's no doubt that Bitcoin has many weaknesses. But Fiat is not as perfect as its proponents claim it to be. A person will ulitmately determine which type of currency depending on his/her needs. In some sense, Bitcoin is better than Fiat because of its completely decentralized nature. People can make use of Bitcoin without fear of getting denied access to their account, or their funds frozen by a third-party. That's not the case with Fiat as it's heavily manipulated and controlled by central banks and governments alike.

Unfortunately, Bitcoin's unstable prices makes it a terrible currency for day-to-day payments. It's why Fiat is still king when it comes to making payments on a daily basis. Bitcoin works more as a store of value than anything else. I believe Bitcoin will remain an alternative to Fiat than a replacement for a long, long time. Just my thoughts Grin

I will always say BTC is batter from fiat money because we can easily do any payment within very short time and accurately. And in this busy world this is very important and needed. On the other hand this is risk free and there is no middle men that we always see some problem in fiat money transaction. But one problem is still on ground that is BTC still not accepting all govt and all places. I think when it will accept everywhere, fiat money will vanish.

I don't think crypto will replace fiat money. It seems to me that all the same, even in a certain distant future, there will be goals for which cryptocurrency is intended, and goals for which only fiat money is intended.
