Yes, i think that bitcoin is designed for forever. Now in this time, i feel no time to end for bitcoin, because in everyday bitcoin is going up and also we like it because bitcoin is good for all of us, and when bitcoin born and now in this time bitcoin never let us down, So all is well about bitcoin that's why i wish the day will never come when bitcoin die.
yes it can last for ever, but i i think it also depend on the people interest, if the people interest in bitcoin is increasing then they will give preference to it and will use it and the second is that it also depend on the interested of the government, if government allow it as a currency to be use in their state then people will get confidence and will practice it and bitcoin will survive.

The planning for bitcoin was a great one the inventor decided to introduce another currency which will be used for internet transactions and now we are looking that the use of bitcoin is even in some offline uses and people are shifting their businesses to digital world for starting this coin so from it we can see that it is more stronger.

I've been thinking about it since last night and I couldn't find an answer to myself.
I know that there's a 21 million block cap and we wouldn't actually be here to see that time it comes to that point.
But assuming that we have reached reward era 34, what happens then? Miners wouldn't have any rewards from mining then.

Anyone care to help explain a few things for me?
There's no right answer of that question because bitcoin will only depends its user or to those people who use bitcoin. If people continue using it then developerswill continue developing it and to make it much better and to improve it.  But if people stop using it then bitcoin will be vanished.

Yeah! you are right! If no one is using it! then it will be gone! The thing is all the stuff in the world if no one using it then it will be gone or it will be useless and no one will use it but if the demand of it is still high then lot of people effort to make it nice and more effective and effort not to kill it.

Yes it will last as long as we human want to use it. I is not installed and managed from one computer but juts distributed over all the computer that are connected to the bitcoin network so if one system fails then other will take the task to next level and if all the system fails or shut down simultaneously then only bitcoin will die.

To last forever as a successful currency, bitcoin always needs some demand from citizens of this world.
Based on speculating the future electronic commerce, we are able to predict the future of bitcoin and its survival. 90% of future transactions will be done through internet, the fast growing of mobile transaction is a very good example for this. I too believe there will not be any problem for bitcoin to last forever.
Yes, digitalization and need of electronic payment system are emerging everywhere, so the demand for bitcoin system is keep on raising.

When there will be need of electronic payments for our daily life and usage, we never need to worry about the existence of bitcoin system as it will be surviving with its applications. Bitcoin has many advantages to suit almost every people of this world, so bitcoin will be used always by us for our daily life.
When the system is keep on being used, we can assume it will last forever. Only not being used systems may go absolute. Bitcoin is gaining more popularity daily with its fluctuating prices and as convenient payment option. Bitcoin will definitely last for ever.

I assume the thinking is that it could last for ever or at least for a very long time. The problem I see (other than running out of coins to mine) is that there are coins that have been lost and can't be recovered. And there will contiunue to be more coins lost. At some point, there will be more lost addresses than in usable addresses.

I don't have a clue if it is forever or not, nothing lasts forever. Lol. On a serious note, I hope that it will stay long because it can be very useful in the next generations.
as we cannot think about the world without fiat currency, so a time will come when we will totally depend on crypto currency and hope that bitcoin will on top and ever one will be using bitcoin as their first priority.
Hopefully there might come a time like that, however I personally think that's a long time away and I would personally prefer to always have some cash available instead of completely relying on a digital system that could have things go wrong with it. How that would work, I have no idea.
I agree, there are some practical problem with electronic format currencies compared to faits. Fiats are always ready to use whereas electronic currencies are basically requires internet connectivity.

But, I strongly believe there would be many enhancement projects that will ease the complications of using electronic currencies. One of the solution right now we are having is bitcoin debit cards to use wherever we want at an instant.

Bitcoin to last forever, there are many possibilities and lot of supporting things are keeping on happening.

Yes bitcoin will last as long as we want it and hackers keep the system safe. Otherwise bitcoin will last as long as human being exists. Because there is no deadline set by Satoshi. As long as bitcoin network exists we we'll have bitcoin but if  all miners stop their system and if it happen then we should give bye bye to bitcoin. Well we have 740+ could so we could afopt those other coins

I wonder ho can a hacker keep the system safe?  Anyway  I think bitcoin is designed to last forever.  It is a digital stuff that can be redesigned, upgraded or developed according to the needs of the current situation.  In short as long as people are supporting its economy and development bitcoin will never die.

I am sure it is designed to last forever. but we don't know can it last forever yet.
It is all depends in the users performances and how they will react in Bitcoin and how long they will support it.

As Bitcoin increases in value denominations multiply so that's one way it can last longer.

Overall it's typical that future actions by researchers / analysts would boost the performance + longevity altogether.

In all honesty it was built with the foundations which will exceed time itself so there will always be a way for BTC to last long enough, if not forever.

Nothing lasts forever, but if the internet stays the same and we will have some liberty in the future, then bitcoin should last at least our lifetime and possibly our childrens lifetime.

But eventually it will be replaced by a coin better designed, although I dont expect this in my lifetime, so i will remain with bitcoin.
Yes, there is every possibility of getting another coin just like we have ethereum now but it will be very difficult to get another coin that will completely replace bitcoin in the next century. Take it that bitcoin is designed to last forever because until the end of your lifetime bitcoin will still be existing.

Only God is eternal. Everything doesnt exist forever. Though I think it will take longer before bitcoin runs out in mining it.  There will be halvig over and over again until the last drop of this coin. Years will be counted for it and that doesnt end with that. It will circulate like money that are printed out.

yeah i think nothing is eternal in this world, including the bitcoin, I do not know what that reason could make bitcoin become lost or replaced. it's all still a mystery, but it is certain that nothing can be immortal
