blockchain tech is a part of bitcoin, but it can not be equal.
it is the same as car and its engine, one won't work without another, but no one equal car an engine, right?

and majority of others coins are using blockchain and they have no connection to bitcoin
by the way blockchain technology is using in other fields as well, I heard it is using in  accounting programs.

In my opinion and some others, bitcoin is almost the same as blockchain but it can't be said that bitcoin and blockchain are the same but they use almost the same features, bitcoin is basically a virtual currency that is run through blockchain technology with very high value, but blockchain is a decentralized technology that has more advantages.

Is Blockchain equal Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is a crypto currency while the Bitcoin blockchain (example of blockchain) in it's simplest form is a database or ledger comprised of Bitcoin transaction records. However, because this database is distributed across a peer-to-peer network and is without a central authority, network participants must agree on the validity of transactions before they can be recorded.A block in a blockchain is a collection of data. The data is added to the block in blockchain, by connecting it with other blocks in chronological others creating achain of blocks linked together.

Bitcoin and blockchain work tandem to execute the transactions bitcoin can be taken as example for decentralized transparent  transactions where as blockchain we can built smart contracts

BTC is just a cryptocurrency that use the blockchain technology. If BTC is equal 1, Blockchain is equal 100000..
You are right but your analogy is kinda not right, I mean if BTC = 1 then blockchain is what makes BTC=1 because it's the underlying system behind bitcoin so essentially it is what makes Bitcoin exist and applicable, not to mention the decentralized nature that it carries.

No, because both are not the same thing to compare. Blockchain is a decentralized technology that runs on bitcoin so this blockchain can be said to be the technology used by bitcoin. This blockchain is like a network database that stores data in every entity, and each of these data blocks is collected by the principle of cryptography.

yes it is . when we say bitcoin we automatically think about blockchain and when we say blockchain we also think about bitcoin  or vice versa .

bitcoin is equal to blockchain because bitcoin cant live alone without blockchain  and blockchain is not also possible to be discovered and became popular without the help of bitcoin  .

 idk why most of the users here in this thread are not agreeing with that fact . they also have thier own come up theory and they only believe on it  .

Bitcoin exists with the help of blockchain, but it is not equal to it. Bitcoin is a digital currency and its use is provided by the blockchain. The blockchain can exist without cryptocurrency, but bitcoin cannot exist without the blockchain.

No. They are totally different things. Bitcoin is a digital currency built on Blockchain. Blockchain on the other hand is a technology which holds bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Blockchain is a new technology and it is being used a various ways.

Different, bitcoin is clearly different from the blockchain, if we compare the blockchain to an operating system on a computer and bitcoin is an application or software that operates on the operating system, blockchain is not only used by bitcoin but is also used by other crypto currencies, blockchain layman can be said to be a system that records every transaction by several blocks so that the validity of the data recorded is very high and cannot be manipulated.

Bitcoin is built on blockchain technology. But, there are other blockchains out there such as ethereum blockchain. It would only mean that bitcoin is not blockchain. Bitcoin blockchain is just the first blockchain; though blockchains differs in functionality and structures.

~~~but with blockchain it is a currency...
Bitcoin is not currency but a payment method. Back to the question, the data on the blockchain is Bitcoin and many others coins that where forked, also, these data are dependent on the Blockchain, which without they are just mere data. I assumed that, OP just got confused and wandering around the entire forum with no substance in his/her threads.
Yes definatly  bitcoin is totally dependant  on blockchain technology.. without blockchain technology bitcoin  is just algorithmic  or codes and nothing.. but with blockchain it is a currency...
I think you did not get the question! Your answer would have made sense if the question was - "Is blockchain equal to bitcoin?".
However, the question was asked in a different manner where Bitcoin's equality is being compared to blockchain. The correct answer is NO!
If blockchain is galaxy, then bitcoin is just a small meteor! Bitcoin is just one of the practical implementations of blockchain in financial technology field.
Is Blockchain equal Bitcoin?
Bitcoin and Blockchain are likened to partners who cannot be replaced and both need each other, I am very sure that bitcoin will not be like this without the help of blockchain technology and vice versa, then the blockchain is very helpful in developing bitcoin in the future, and we also feel that thing and no longer denied ...
Is Blockchain equal Bitcoin?
Why most of the topic being created like this, its too direct to the point and it looks like a spam to me.
Well, bitcoin is nothing without blockchain I believe, they work separately and we both need them. That's why many coins have their own blockchain technology because its not directly connected with bitcoin.
Blockchain is another hyped technology by MBAs and CAs for IT/Tech security which has no real use. Bitcoin is part of blockchain. Just as Bitcoin fell from $20,000 to $3000, blockchain also fell
Yet major corporations are paying $10 million each to run a Libra node. Facebook could potentially become one of the largest banks in the world. You remind me of the Amazon-haters of the early 2000s who kept on insisting AMZN stock would plunge to near worthlessness. The argument then was that Amazon was just a glorified online bookstore.
It looks like in just a few years almost everyone will be using cryptocurrencies.
No. Bitcoin cannot stand alone without blockchain since without the said technology, bitcoin is just a series of algorithms put together but of no use in reality. Whereas blockchain can be a stand-alone tech integrated into some other program/systems and help record data by putting it all together in a block forming a series of chains. Essentially, bitcoin is not bitcoin without blockchain but blockchain can be a blockchain even without bitcoin.
You have fully answered the question. As soon as I saw this post, I wanted to write the same. That's right - bitcoin without blockchain is not a bitcoin.
Is Blockchain equal Bitcoin?
I always see this as
Blockchain as the technology that keeps records of transactions across multiple computers,
Bitcoin is the application of blockchain technology,
and bitcoin (BTC) is the reward to keep Bitcoin blockchain secured through the miners.
Blockchain is another hyped technology by MBAs and CAs for IT/Tech security which has no real use. Bitcoin is part of blockchain. Just as Bitcoin fell from $20,000 to $3000, blockchain also fell
Go tell your FUDs somewhere else, that does not work here.
Is Blockchain equal Bitcoin?
It used to be a Wall St. manstra that blockchain is more than just bitcoin and that bitcoin isn't going anywhere, but increasingly we are seeing people flocking to the bitcoin camp and equating the two. I believe bitcoin will remain the most prominent blockchain, but there will be other ones, both public and private, coexisting.
