I only ask this question because I do not think everyone is on the same page. I understand bitcoin is at an all time high. that means 50000 dogecoin that i lost some years ago is worth a hundred bucks. But it is only that high because of the value of BTC, the dollar value has changed greatly in altcoins due to the rise of btc value, but the satoshi value is low as fuck in every altcoin. I look at satoshi value as real value, because is btc goes down, you still have value regardless, but if you lose satoshi and dollar value , its game over, just a little change in your pocket going jingle jingle.  Am i looking at this wrong, or am i missing something. I look forward to all responses that are something other than people trying to up their post count or advertise some shit.

TLDR .. dont post some bullshit here, read the post and then post or move on

It's not killing altcoins, it's helping altcoins beacuse without bitcoin, altcoins are not tradable only with ethereum. The only thing here is that bitcoin make altcoins be dumped because of its rise.

Money flows in and distributes itself across the crypto sphere.  It doesn't just all go into BTC.  I still believe BTC introduces the world to crypto but something else eventually takes it over.  What that thing is who knows.

Things we can expect beyond speculation there will be a correction for bitcoin. SEC will crack down on alts. These two things maorly affect the world of crypto, but imo alts do present value because they have a function/platform to apply them to.

Dogecoin is now like what, 16 satoshis?  I think when I started watching it in 2015, it was about the same (though it's been up and down since then).  I don't pretend to know how the dollar/btc prices exactly relate to altcoin prices.  It seems as though they're priced in fiat, so ehen bitcoin goes up, the satoshi value of an altcoin goes down.  The shitcoin market is so volatile and manipulated anyway, so I just stay out if it (almost) entirely.   I do own some doge and I get OP's question.

I think not, nothing can kill Altcoins even Bitcoin's price will reach $100,000. Altcoins are the coins or cryptocurrencies that is acting like a digital currency because Bitcoin today is just like a precious stone that people buying it and collect and keep it and the Bitcoin demand is very low until time will come that Bitcoin is rare.

I do not see now any connection between altcoins and Bitcoin. I mean sure alts that are in to top-20. The smallest coins can be pushed out of the market by their bigger brothers, and it will be not Bitcoin that will kill them.

No, the exact opposite actually.

All depends on your way of thinking.  If you are thinking in terms of what coin to hold onto, sure a lot of people might like the upwards growth of BTC.

In terms of an actual currency.  Not a chance.  Some stores that were accepting BTC as a type of payment have even stopped accepting BTC, as the transaction fees are to high when the price is jumping like this.  It will be time for some larger stable alt coin to take the reigns and make it's move into the world of commerce.

Example :  http://ca.ign.com/articles/2017/12/07/steam-is-no-longer-accepting-bitcoin

After losing it's majority crypto market cap (it drop below 50%) he's  in the way to recover. Today more than 64%. If lghting and other good tech are operationnal, yes altcoin will be useless.

i have the same opinion that bitcoin are killing crypto but. everytime bitcoin stop growing altcoin will grow so i cwould call it a turn point where when particular coin rising the other will going down or stagnant. bitcoin development is a good thing. the more btc grow that means the more people are believe and realize the existent of cryptocurrency.

altcoin value is depends in bitcoin value in US dollar value,,
so if BTC price increase, of course altcoin value will increase in USD but not in Bitcoin value
but strong alt will survive in this situations, so not all alt will be dead

No, I think Altcoin will pump soon. now its time to hold bitcoin.
Many altcoin got down and Bitcoin going to raise. everyone knows real reason is bitcoin itself.
Many coins price went up with Bitcoin as well. So don't worried.

Bitcoin doesn't kill altcoins. It must be all together in the market. In the near future Bitcoin will be so valuable that people will not want to sell Bitcoin. So altcoins will see more demand.

Not bitcoin will kill altoins, and they will start to die out, because as well as capitalization will go to zero. But still I think that the tokens will suffer most, since those projects based on which they lie will not show the real product, where they are applicable. This process will not come in early 2018, but I think by the end it's for sure.
I do not agree with you at all. I believe that the only way bitcoin can possibly kill off all altcoins is if people convert all their altcoin holdings to bitcoin and all methods of creating altcoins get blocked permanently. This kind of scenario has a low chance of occurring. Everyone knows that one of the best methods of earning quick profits in the crypto world is by investing into various altcoins since bitcoin is very expensive at the moment. This validates my statement.

I don't thingk bitcoin is in the verge of killing the alts. What happened really is, before, a lot of people have invested in altcoins, but since hard forks that came and gave free money along with it, many investors converted their alts to bitcoin in order to get more of the free coin. Since then the alts has continually gone down.

this is true, if altcoin value is depends on BTC value in USD
but in this moment not all altcoin lose their BTC value,, there is a lot of altcoin still rising,
note: not a pump and dump coin,,
for example : chaincoin,, an old coin now start increasing the value in Satoshi and USD

Most likely it looks this way! No one had the idea that Bitcoin will make such moves and this has lead to all alternate currencies going to the floor. I am very worried about my alt holdings this time.

Well, you are probably right. Bitcoin is unstoppable, I mean its mooning is really unstoppable at the moment. And that makes alts bleed so hard. My alts are all bleeding right now sadly. Let them breath please?
