It's kind of both yes and no from my side because its use has increased exponentially in past couple of years but relative to other currencies it's still very less.
The major reason for this is because people who don't know about it properly think it to be a form of gamble etc and that it is unsafe.
This thought is  logically fine for a person who is first time  because he doesn't even know who  had created the currency.
Also many governments across the globe haven't accepted it as a currency.Instead of being a currency Bitcoin is more kind of investment because its cost is very volatile.
Still the growth Bitcoin has seen now a days is commendable so no one knows what the future holds:).

was experiment and it seems that it had showed many features and enough information to governments to design their own digital currencies. That is of course how the title of this thread say  is a successful edition in its limited way. We will see real digital currencies in future working same way on blockchain technology.

I'm very sure about that, it's the new era of currency and I think as long as it keeps making waves and people keep accepting then it's going to remain credible for a long time and it's no doubt ushering us into a new era of currencies.

Very well said! The main blood in Bitcoin's existence is its adoption. The era of Bitcoin is enmarked by its acceptability! Since the price of Bitcoin is directly related to its demand. More will be the demand, higher will the price so Bitcoin's glory entirely depends upon its usage by greater folk!

with the new era of technology, i am sure that bitcoin is the new for currency too because bitcoin have many advantage that will help many things. with the growing of user, bitcoin will be the next currency in the internet and in offline too and so far, bitcoin have a good success to reach people to using bitcoin itself.
yeah bitcoin users is really growing too much faster and we can says that bitcoin is new era currency and there is a lot of service available on bitcoin and i am sure we can be use bitcoin as our regular currency in the future.

Yes I strongly agree with that, bitcoin has proven enough for it to be the new era of currencies so no doubt for that.
In this world where almost all people are busy finding their career and wants a successful life, we all wanted something like bitcoin where in we can use as a currency, payment for bills as well as can earn from it plus the comfort when it comes to transacting online.

Well,it for sure started a movement which was never seen before-cryptocurrencies have changed the game when it comes to money and operations with them so BTC is the leader of this movement and definitely the biggest player.I think that later we will all remember how it all started with a simple but so big idea which can potentially change the whole system.

Yes, I think so.
We have to be aware that bitcoin probably will never be accepted by financial institutions, banks, governments etc.
Why?
Simple because they can't control bitcoin, its value, currency exchange, manipulate in Forex...
So, we will  continue to receive a salary in hard currency, pay off loans etc.
So, I feel that bitcoin may replace paypal and become new online payment standard but bitcoin will mostly stay in online world, I think.
There is no doubt it will happen very soon, bitcoin will dominate the online payment system and we should be ready when that time comes as I believe the price will also follow. Bitcoin is something that we can consider a good investment now, we have to put our money in the future as the longer it exist, it progresses and alongside with it, we have to grow as well financially.

I agree to this that bitcoin is the new era of currency in the internet as it has many advantages than paypal , bitcoin is open source too thats why people can contribute to help bitcoin grow and be stable as Paypal is a private company and the improvements is based on the company goals and mission.

Affirmative, it's the new era currency with a massive technology and development team, I wouldn't wish for anything more than this. Hopefully there can be persistent improvements by the dev team as time elapses.

yeah i think it is very true that bitcoin has come to become a revolution in the world of online currency.... but we can't compare it with digital currency.... both are used for different means.....

You really true, they have different means, they exist in parallel and inseparable. somewhat, Bitcoin is still dependent by digital currencies, Bitcoin value still depends on it, if it does not exist, Bitcoin will not be valid. it needs to be balanced, so, we need a solution to keep it current

It is the contrary of Paypal. Here we are too donate for each other to make bitcoin bloom in price and value. People want change and bitcoin is offering that to us. Without an owner there is no manipulation that is going on inside. Add up the large amount of price changes where you ciuld profit easily if there is knowledge

Bitcoin is the new era of cryptocurrency but I disagree with the phrase that there is no manipulation going on. There is actually a manipulation in bitcoin if you look at what happened on the Chinese bitcoin exchangers if the PBOC had not conducted inspection the sudden volatility, market manipulation and creation of fake volumes was not stopped. Though there is no owner of bitcoin there are groups in the mining and exchangers that are greedy of profits and wanted to cause ruckus by trying to manipulate the market price as well as the miner fees.
