Bitcoin and crypto currency in general is legal in some country and illegal in some other countries.  So all depends on the country you are trying to refer the issues of whether is legal to, although the numbers of country that accept crypto currency as a legal tender is insignificant.

The legality of bitcoin depends on who you are, and what you’re doing with it.

There are three main categories of bitcoin stakeholder. Someone may fall under more than one of these categories, and each category has its own legal considerations.
If in my country Bitcoin is not yet legalized, but the Government in my country still allow its citizens to have Bitcoin and only prohibit it to be used as a transaction tool. So Bitcoin is still legit in my country.
Here it is considered legal because there is no regulation stating that it is illegal, so we are free to do what we want for as long as we are not fooling people to do investment in it, or to make an investment scam because we do have law regulated for the protection of everyone especially investors.
The same as here, since our country recognized bitcoin from our Central Bank as one of a currency payment and making a transaction as a virtual money we all concluded that bitcoin is not illegal here besides many people now embracing bitcoin because of the asset of bitcoin being profitable when you invested. But fooling people was really prohibited here and have a punishment when you are being caught and have strong evidence on you and that is part of cybercrime law and money laundering.

Bitcoin is legal if you know what services and what tools to use on the network. If you use exchanges like Coinbase and you gave up a lot of personal information then Bitcoin may not be legal for you.
Every day, Bitcoin respondents in the world are also actively using or checking their Bitcoin (52.9 percent). Very few rarely check his Bitcoin (18.8 percent). Although quite a few believe and use Bitcoin, this currency has not gained recognition and permission from other countries. If Bitcoin gets permission, an estimated 88.8 percent of respondents will buy more Bitcoin

yes...it is based in our category that if our government will agree for bitcoin then that's the time that bitcoin will become legal, and all of us we must support bitcoin for good.there are so many people who trust bitcoin and we have to tell them to trust bitcoin and we have to support it.

Not all countries legalize bitcoin that is why until now bitcoin transaction is not regulated by the government.

Very few countries have gone as far as to declare bitcoin illegal. That does not, however, mean that bitcoin is "legal tender" - so far, only Japan has gone as far as to give bitcoin that designation. However, just because something isn't legal tender, does not mean that it cannot be used for payment - it just means that there are no protections for either the consumer or the merchant, and that its use as payment is completely discretionary.

The legality of Bitcoin and other crypto currency depends on who you ask and from which country the person who you asked live. That is the only condition or way in which you will get to know as to whether Bitcoin is legal or illegal.

It also depends on which country you live in. China and France are creating quite the stir with their wanting to ban Bitcoin and crackdown on other cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin is unregulated, but govts can have it banned from businesses in that way, businesses cannot accept Bitcoin as payment.

Depends on your place, in my place people can easily use bitcoin and also some businesses already accepting it. I think in the right time bitcoin will be accepted in so many countries and people will enjoy the benefit of it. Its legal here and hope this thing will happen in the future.

Bitcoin is naturally legal. For me, it become illegal if used as a method to fund any crime.  It is kind of hard to emagine how to identify specific people here and how to locate them if the authority want to catch some.

Though the regulatory bodies are seriously worried about bitcoin because of the high volatility index it has possessed in the last few years since it was implemented into the digital world as a digital coin for transaction, also been confirmed that some people use it as an alternative money laundering technics. Nevertheless, bitcoin is very much legal irrespective of your location and the regulatory bodies involved. In US bitcoin is properly regulated.
