How can people even say Bitcoin is not real money? Money is defined as a medium of exchange in coins or banknotes.  Since Bitcoin follows this protocol it is by definition real money.  There are no questions about it.

But still it created a 10 page thread with a lot of stories on how they spend it like real money. Aint that awesome.

It is real to me  Grin I have been using it for some time now. Creating some real cash using this kind of currency. Thanks to bitcoin and for the one who introduced me to this kind of money.

Yeah it has become a real money for me over a period of time. I have been using bitcoins to convert it to fiat currency, I can recharge my mobile phone using bitcoins and I can also make online transfers which is very convinient, cheap and time saving, So basically bitcoins is taking care of my all daily stuff so I believe it is a real money for me.

Yeah same here paying to recharge mobile phone. It can also pay bills and be transfered to ve a real money with just a code and a password. So it is a real money literally. I find  it also more faster than other transfering money companies.

Not really. I cant still buy groceries in my local supermarket with it.
Also, I always have to be connected to the internet to make transactions. This is not required with cash. Also, unlike cash, bitcoin is not anonymous.

Well just because you cant buy stuff with BTC in your local town, doesnt mean it is not possible.

My barber shop around the corner accepts bitcoins, lots of small pubs and shops as well. Even a travel agent here accepts BTC.
Have they accept BTC officially? Or it is to avoid taxes on FIAT payment?

May I ask where are you from? It is funny because when I talked with my hairdresser about bitcoin last time, she has no idea what that is.
And no restaurant or pub in my city is not bitcoin friendly so far (not that I am aware of any).

It is real to me.
It was a little more fun once my mining gear was paid for to buy stuff with it (fluffy Overstock down comforter :-).
Now I buy and spend and save

I think it has all the good features of gold, like a limited supply and a big network effect (with tremendous potential to go x1000 times what it is now compared to gold) and has all the features of the 21th century that gold will never have (easy of transportation, worldwide transactions, programmable). Basically is the best form of money we've ever seen.

agree with you Smiley
bitcoin is so special like gold
but in my opinion bitcoin is better than gold,
it's a super currency , we will see the logo of bitcoin anywhere in the world Smiley

According to European High Court, bitcoin is a kind of currency, not goods, so there is no VAT to pay.

We can use bitcoin to buy goods. So it is money.

Bitcoin is definately real money! If someone is still not convinced, well just think about this. You can buy it, sell it or even turn it into paypal or even to your bank account.

yes, you can trade bitcoin to real money so maybe it is more of an asset?
Not really. Some people say its a commodity because lack of spending and its nature to store value.

But I disagree, it is both. Because it can store value, but its totally spendable, after more people accept it.

Bitcoin is real money!

How it is really money? I can use my dollars in a wallet without any internet, nodes or anything. I can pay someone when there is no electricity, nor any internet connection.

There is the answer. But I doubt you will lose the internet, its become a basic thing nowadays.

For me bitcoin is more like a 'secondary money'
Because im still relying on fiat while i collect bitcoin mainly for hoby and having my own pocket money Wink
Bitcoin is great with his anonymity and other stuff
But i can't fully rely on bitcoin yet
Maybe in the future where bitcoin is being used worlwide i will consider it to be my 'real money' Wink
