Is Bitcoin vulnerable to quantum computing?

I understand that there is no unequivocal opinion on this issue. Some think that a quantum computer will kill bitcoins. But others believe that this is impossible. I think that we can not know this until we try it in practice.

According to the experts I have listened to, the cryptographic methods that Bitcoin uses, specifically ECC and SHA-256, are expected to be "broken" by quantum computing in less than 20 years.

Is Bitcoin vulnerable to quantum computing?

A quick search will find you lots of answers to this question, it has been asked that much, but the short answer is this, is bitcoin is vulnerable to QC then that is the last of your worries because the whole Mainstream banking system would be vulnerable also, and bitcoin is a small fish compared to that.  in other words you would attack bitcoin if you had a quantum computer.

Where the people who know what will happen in the near future, nor the time traveler that will tell this is what in the future because in reality nobody knows what really it is. So I think the best way we can do now is lets enjoy the benefits of what bitcoin has right now until the right time comes.

Yes we are not the time travelers hence we cannot assure anything but bitcoin has been there from a long time and also have been through all the tough times like the price dump but always bitcoin has overcome all those problems and it's value keeps increasing so as far as i can assure bitcoin will be there for sure and it's value will only increase.

as a far as i now only ECDSA is vulnerable to them man, it's a part form the hash fuction to have the private key, but aside form that part the other are quantum proof, but perhaps in the future quantum computer can break sha256 and more, at this point you should be worried about your bank account

Even though you have to follow a Bitcoin software protocol a Bitcoin network could be significantly disrupted if a small group like less than 10% of the mining power decided not to follow that protocol. A malicious mining group, or "selfish miners," as they are called in the research work, can fork the "blockchain," or divide it into a competing chain only by revealing some of the operations processed. If the "branch" of the malicious group grows more than the legitimate chain, it will begin to charge a larger share of the rewards of 12.5 Bitcoin coins.

Seeing this set obtain greater revenue, other "miners" would join this repository, even though they had no knowledge of their intentions. The group might even eventually take control of the chain of transactions.

Is Bitcoin vulnerable to quantum computing?
U should ask if cryptography is vulnerable to quantum computing? In theory yes, but this is only theory for last 27 years Wink and that won't change fast.
People always adjust to problems dont worry.

No one knows actually regarding on the posibilities even though quantum computers dont focus on algorithms just like been mentioned above but it can be developed for some time but for sure it would really takes time to develop or invent such one.For now, lets just dont think on these kind of things.

That we have to wait and see.We may have to wait for twenty to thirty more years to see what happens. It is said some safety measures would be taken to prevent bitcoin being damaged by quantum computing.

Is Bitcoin vulnerable to quantum computing?
No. Quantum Computing is also specialized on certain things it can do. Bitcoin uses algorithms that are not part of the special abilities of QC. This however might change in the future, but so can the algorithms used by Bitcoin, to QC safer ones.
