Yeah I am pretty curious about this stuff,
So if the bitcointalk have 100 million users then there would be a plenty of campaigns right,
I mean there would still be a campaign for all of the active user's.

100 million forum members, I think it's only theorical thing. Until now, bitcointalk have less than million registered users, and half of these users didn't made single post. I predict that real number of active bitcointalk users is around 100k people.
If bitcoin community will grow, it doesn't means that all these people will use bitcointalk. Not everyone is interested in discussions, signature campaign, spamming, ranting and etc. They only will use bitcoin as a currency.
But if forum community will grow, bitcointalk will need for more staff to control everything.

Right there were actually bitcoin users who does not care of joining into forum. You can only see few forum that has millions of users (eg. Reddit and stockoverflow) which is covering a different niche.

I doubt it's even close to 100k unique members.  There are so many farmed accounts and alts, that I wouldn't be surprised if there are only a few thousand members.   100 million?   Yeah, it'd be a huge shit show at that point, but that's not going to happen.  I don't know any forum that can boast that many members.   I do think we need a new ranking system,  because pretty soon the legendary tag is going to be meaningless.

Why do you say that? It still takes a while to build up to legendary status, taking me over a year on this account. There should be like a little insignia, colored coin, etc which indicates that like you were a member of this forum before this date (perhaps before the next block halvening) or something like that to distinguish "early adopters/ early mainstream" vs mainstream audience.

1. where there will be millions of legendary and hero applying for a campaign.

Because these forums allow registration of more than one account, too many accounts with high ranks in future is not balanced with potential emergence of limited signature campaign. This is serious problem for future of bitcointalk. Increased competition, new players will not be able to join in signature campaign, because it was preceded by multi-account controlled by senior players. Tracking multiple accounts will not provide significant solutions, as long as these forums allow multi-account, if five accounts could be caught, it will be born 500 new accounts on the same day.

3. where there will be lots of stupid threads and spaming

If signature campaign manager requires participants to post a lot of things in a week. The more the required number of posts, will only add spam in multiple threads. They are not thought to create a new quality thread, but choose to kill a lot of thread with necromancy pattern and "beating a dead horse"

That is not a non issue. As bitcoin grows, more services will demand people to promote their website through signature campaigns. So yes, there will be more Legendary members around, but there will be way more new businesses and websites using the signature campaign method to drive traffic onto their websites in order to rank better in google (so this means more opportunities for new people to get in a campaign and start making their firsts satoshis in a way that is less depressing than the pathetic amounts faucets give you).

Let the market decide, let's not add regulations specially in a forum about bitcoin.

Whether this forum will reach 100 million members or not. Still there is a new forum software that is waiting for us and that will make this forum upgrade. And with your concerns that's the job of mods.

Agreed. We've been waiting for a new software update /visual UI overhaul/upgrades in general for a long time. While it seems to be reliable and work with minimal latency for me, Bitcointalk is starting to show its age and there's no guarantee the current implementations would be able to handle more users. Once that's achieved, I think we can start looking for more staff members, or do both simultaneously.

Those additional staff members will depend to theymos or if there's a need for sure they will take action for it. And I'm very excited with the new forum software that we will use.

Can Theymos even afford more staff though? It doesn't nessicarily work where more users are signed up so you can afford more staff members. It depends on his current cashflow.

Bitcointalk is far to have 100 millions users and won't happen. So far, never i have meet any forum with 100 millions members. With currently +900k members, many of them are inactives, as said by someone, and many are alt accounts. I see about daily people obviously using an alt account here trying to cheat guys from campaigns. Sometime the forum is very slow, so imagine with just 1% of 100 millions users are active daily, we are going to see the usual "503 too much busy" very often  Roll Eyes

If ever that might happen, I would stick in Bitcointalk since it's the simplest forum I've seen. Addtionaly, this site is designed to for a long time purposes. As Bitcoin exist, Bitcointalk must be there to guide newbies and other concerns.

I think that Bitcoin's adoption will be fairly slow and arduous - it has been gradually increasing over several years already and every month there are several posts predicting a huge leap in price or mainstream adoption but these are mainly based on hyperbole.

What I would say though is that if this increase happened quickly, you're right, there would be a moderation crisis as there would be huge amounts of spam and fraud from new members, which is one of the only downsides to Bitcoin being fully online and (pretty much) anonymous.

Fortunately I think that the economic incentives for signature spam are actually not very good because campaigns with too many spammers get bad reputations and people don't want to use their service.  Also, it's a lot easier for mods to decide what to do about a whole campaign than each individual user of it, which I would imagine could make it easier.

Bitcointalk threads will be studied in centuries by now once bitcoin is the universal currency used in all colonized planets. This forum is already a legend because the creator of bitcoin itself started here and posted himself a lot of useful information that everyone interested in bitcoin will look for.

Let them say, that I posted in the time of satoshi. A thing to tell your grandkids about.

This forum is by far the best way to learn about bitcoins and we can also earn here because most of the gambling sites owners have signature campaigns, while I would never earn through it because I posses nice amount of bitcoins myself.
I think getting 1 million is a nice milestone.

The word bitcoin is spreading  like the air and bitcointalk is also a conveyor but is the forum preparing for the massive community of 100 million with diverse people.
1. where there will be millions of legendary and hero applying for a campaign.
2. more Fake campaigns with new ways to fraud members
3. where there will be lots of stupid threads and spaming
4. Ranting on the threads and possible attempt of hack
There are never going to be that many users right now we are in the 900k, many will just read the forum when they have a doubt, if they really needed then they may create an account and make a few post to ask questions and that is it, so we are never going to see that amount of users in the forum.

Even if bitcoin surpasses that number of bitcoin users that doesn´t mean that these users will create a Bitcointalk account. Since you can read threads without having an account many Bitcoin users don´t even bother to register an account while many other Bitcoin users just don´t care or don´t know about Bitcointalk or just use Reddit

I would not be worry about this. First, there are less than 1 million users yet and a big part of these members are not active and farmed accounts. I think, when Bitcoin reaches the masses the most will not come here because they will group in local boards in there particular language. You can observe this. In many countries, local board about Bitcoin exists yet.
Futher, the team of this board has worked for creating a new forums software since a couple of years. When it will be released I expect it could handle a much bigger amount of users than the current 1 millions.

I agree with you and even in adding to that every thing in life is a phase and even those of us here now its a phase as we have had people who have even gotten to a higher rank at one point in time, then became inactive whether through life issues or they find interest somewhere else or it could be sickness or death so I will say that the more people comes, some other people are also dropping out of the forum...
