Why do we suddenly think someone is dead just because they stopped using Bitcointalk?

The reason being after the pandemic their has been a sudden increase in death due to cardia arrest. Another reason is being inactive and being so good at what someone was doing here, raises a concern. I love it, when people who are unknown personally, as they have never met in IRL are searched and asked about. This literally shows how important someone was for the forum and how much they have inspired others by their activities in the forum. There is nothing wrong as per me by OP for asking whether Blazed is alive or not. I hope he or she is alive and kicking.

I think it's because most of people are solely depend their source of income in this forum, since there are so many active campaings, it make them impossible to quit this forum. Although there are some people still active without wearing paid signatures, but it's undeniable the number of active users who get paid are way higher than the not paid one.

Is Blazed alive? no one know, is MiningBuddy alive? no one know. Even they're turn active posting, there's no guarantee if they're the real owner of the account as long as there's no sign message proof (there's also a chance the address was sold to other people).

99% of the people in the collectibles board have tons of assets worth more than our lifetime signature campaign earnings, so why would they need to enroll in one?

I was just viewing default trust members on Bitcointalk and suddenly I discovered one ex member called Zepher, he has passed away, RIP.
Yep, that was a big deal when it happen, because he was a beloved member of the Collectibles section.  If I recall correctly, his family auctioned off some of his things here after he died; I wanted a keepsake even though I didn't know him, and I have a 100g silver skull that he owned--and some very nice copper commemorative coins that minerjones made.  That really is a tight community.

Then I discovered another member called Blazed.
I was wondering the same thing you are a few months ago, because he helped me get on DT2 a few years ago.  It seems strange now because I didn't know him either, but I guess he liked my account seller tagging crusade between 2016-18.

There have been quite a few well-known members who've vanished, died, or said sayonara to the forum.  It just happens.
Keeping tabs on anonymity is such a hard thing to archive as the anonymous nature of every user not having to build relations up to their physical existence in the real world is a rare to observe on the forum but stil, some users have been known to be quite vocal or have other users who knew them in there life to belong in the forum come out to say a word or two when they can’t. Probably, the user is still good where ever they might be.

It’s also nice to know that, we’ve got communities outside our various local boards on the forum. Communities in the aspect of your active participation of a board or sub board to the forum and you can still build relationships to worth the while and other users having memory boxes of you.
It’s not easy keeping up with the forum for years nonstop and to the few or many that have, congrats for shared interest.

OP, there are still a lot of users on the DT lists who don't visit the forum, and we can only guess what's up with them now. For example, where are these users of bones261, ICOEthics, and, of course, TMAN?
Should we think about the bad, or is it just hard for all of us to imagine that you can leave this forum just like that?

But it's quite common thing that famous forum members disappears misteriously. It makes conspiracy theories such like that they passed away.
But there is plenty other reasons - family, real life duties, loss of interest in crypto.

Well, as I have commented in another thread, there doesn't seem to be anyone left from the early years on the forum, apart from theymos, and theymos doesn't write much, unlike what he wrote in the early years. They can't all be dead.

More likely, I think, is that they lost interest in the forum for some reason or other.

Just think, if they did things half right, many would have gotten rich in the early years. Those who mined bitcoin for example with their laptop. Or someone who bought in 2011 at $1, just holding on to the investment until 2013, 14 or 15, where the price traded for hundreds of dollars (peak being $1,237.55), got rich, and lost interest in the forum.

Blazed apparently lost interest in the forum and became inactive for a long time. Here is a pro tip to understand if they lose interest or not. It does not happen in one day when someone loses interest in something. People slowly lose interest, and they disappear slowly. If you look at his post history, he was pretty active in May 2019, and then he started losing interest in the first week. He made only 23 posts from June 2019 to May 2020. At first, the posting gap starts from a week, then a couple of weeks, and then months! Now, it's been almost three years since he left.

If you see someone who is pretty active (Writing posts every day) and suddenly disappears, then there is something to think about.

You have to look at it all differently to be honest.

Some people are definitely still alive, they just either got rich off the last bull run or maybe just found other things like family etc etc... Wink

Yes, zepher was a soul of greatness, and I still can't believe it's been almost 5 years, I knew him quite well, we spent time in real life together etc. It was hard accepting his passing as well, due to the short notice after he vanished a few months earlier. Huh

Anyhow, I would not get too deep into this sort of thing - as I said, there are many reasons people leave this forum, intentionally or unintentionally. Why bother? That is 100% their own business.

Someday I will leave as well. Will I inform anyone? Maybe, maybe not. Who knows? Wink

You see where I'm going right? Let this thread just die in the candle light of the bitcoin warriors who were lucky to be before us here - I think it's for the best. Smiley

As it seems, he was one of the most active and trusted member of this forum, I have no idea why the fact that he left the forum went unnoticed. Has anyone any idea how is he doing? Is he alive and doing well? Just wondering.

Blazed is the 6th most trusted user on this forum due to his trading history - but what has awakened you to the reason why he has become inactive?

Someone can just come and go without telling anyone - so let it happen without getting high attention unless they leave the forum without solving the case. Contributors who leave this forum will be remembered and people will be very curious about what they were doing out there. I'm not sure if Blazed is one of them - but he is an admittedly trustworthy user on Collectibles board.

I don't really want to speculate about such things. Don't know, maybe there is some people on Bitcointalk who have contact  with him outside forum. But it's quite common thing that famous forum members disappears misteriously. It makes conspiracy theories such like that they passed away. I don't see any issue that he is still on DT. Fact that he is inactive doesn't makes his feedback irrelevant.

Hard to know if he is a live or not, but there's also life outside this forum. Even you, a day will come when you log out of this forum for good. In most cases, it will be without any explanation or warning, just like it happened to a number of notable members in the past.

So if there was anyone who knew what happened to him, they would have already shared with us in the forum by now

Blazed is not a user I know. He is a user who has contributed heavily to the Collections board and to several other boards. Of course that means I never remember if I ever once in a while quoted his post or perhaps asked him something, but I think people may have ignored his inactivity since 2020 because they were busy thinking about themselves.

Someone who deals with him frequently might know more about him, but I'm inclined to wonder about TMAN rather than the user you're referring to because of his forum contributions.

you can ask about him on Collectibles, may find someone who has information about him, and I hope he is in good health, as he was one of the active members.

As for the reason for the inactivity, it may be

Agreed, Theymos is not a regular user at all. I decided to just remove my entire list and get removed from this whole DT disaster moving forward. The never ending drama of this stuff has gotten old and just ignoring it all makes life easier.

it is better to let people live their lives.

it seems he is still in DT list but October 27, 2020 is the last time he was active.

It is not surprising that he is a DT. I have added a number of inactive people to my trust list because them feedback is worth reading and I think everyone does that.

I was just viewing default trust members on Bitcointalk and suddenly I discovered one ex member called Zepher, he has passed away, RIP. Then I discovered another member called Blazed. As I see, you guys tag people with high trust rating, those who left the forum and those who passed away. When I checked Blazed's profile, it seems he is still in DT list but October 27, 2020 is the last time he was active. When I viewed his profile, he has never mentioned that he left the forum, also, when I saw his trust rating, he didn't have any trust tag that would mention that he has passed out or is not active anymore.

As it seems, he was one of the most active and trusted member of this forum, I have no idea why the fact that he left the forum went unnoticed. Has anyone any idea how is he doing? Is he alive and doing well? Just wondering.
